Bad store experience
I visited the North Tryon location in Charlotte, NC on January 13th during the evening hours (around 10:45 pm). I had a full cart of groceries (over $130 worth) and wanted to checkout at the cashier registers. The employees said that all of the registers were closed and I could only use the self-checkout. I asked them why and they told me they were short staff, however there were 5 employees standing in the front of the store not doing anything. I reluctantly proceeded to check myself out. The employees then began to watch me scan my items and laughed at me as I struggled with the machine. When I finally left the store, those same employees stood at the store window and taunted me with hand waves. I went back in the store to ask for the store manager’s name, but they could not provide me concrete information. I am very upset with the service and treatment I received from the employees.
Desired outcome: I hope that some disciplinary action can be done to prevent this from happening in the future.
Management
Kelsey Nelson and Tyler Wood at store 0563 are very disrespectful to their employees and the management below them. Kelsey has a very bad attitude and Tyler does as well. They make it hard for you to go to them about any problem because they usually don’t care or brush it off or put the blame on you.
Kelsey has threatened to write me up just for walking away from her when she was giving me attitude.
Rude cashier
Foodlion 1593 Sunset Beach , I went in to get a money order, had to wait on cashier. Told her what I wanted another employer came in she was telling her that no pay Check today because of holiday. . Cashier was saying she was texting employees about not getting paid today 12/28 .Both cashiers was talking about needing there checks because they needed money . I give the cashier 400.46 cents for my money order , I wanted a 365.00 one . Well the cashier handed me my receipt , my money order didn’t say thank you , kiss my butt or anything. She walked off with other cashier talking about there checks . I put my stuff in my purse and went to my truck . I realized she didn’t give me my 35.00 change . So I hustled back in the store to customer service . She was standing with another cashier at the other end . The cashier saw me , she said out loud to the other cashier , I owe her some money. She new she didn’t give me my change , why didn’t she try to find me outside the door ? She gives me 30.00 , I said you owe me 35.00 not 30.00. She gave me my money in an aggressive way , she was aggravated because of no pay check . I ask her are you not going to apologize for your mistake and behavior. She said sorry and walked off . I spoke to the manager Dan told him what had happened . He was approaching her as I was leaving store , I told him she was a hateful b… and I didn’t appreciate it . She new she didn’t give me my change , I’m curious to know if she thought I wouldn’t come back in store . She was distracted by not getting her check, texting her employee friends, and talking to two other cashiers about not getting paid

Road rage of food lion truck-dangerous truck driving of truck #4272
HI,
I do not expect road rage from Large semi trucks on the road and was quite scared/shocked of this incident by Food Lion Truck #4272 On October 22,2022 at 7:30pm EST near Mile marker 407, Sevierville TN. Interstate 40 was quite congested that evening when I was trying to get over to the far right to enter exit 407 going to Sevierville, TN. The car in front of me stopped and there was the Food Lion Truck right behind me. The Food Lion Truck proceeded to honk over and over, got right onto my bumper and then used his Bright beams for at least 2 minutes flashing them at me so that I could not see anything around me (it was pitch black and no other lights on interstate.) It was very much like road rage and it scared me since I was pinned between the truck and the car not moving in front of me (this exit is severely congested and cars can stop while it is bumper to bumper). The Food lion truck did not get off on that exit, but after showing his dominance on the road, proceeded to get in the second to the right lane to drive down I40 towards Asheville. Really this behavior was uncalled for and really was the most unprofessional behavior that I have experienced with a Semi truck, ever in my 56 years!
Desired outcome: I wish that you could speak to this driver so that he does not scare senior people especially on the interstate, maybe evaluate his anger issues.

While shopping at Food Lion #1653 as i do daily i was very dissappointed of the unprofessional driver from ADUSA truck # 3959. She cut my wife n i off pulling into the place n decided to try to swing the truck around but couldnt because ther was a truck pulled way off to the side, apparently taking their !0 hrs off (He had a sleeper, she didnt. She blew her airhorn for 10 minutes until she actually had to get out of her truck that she wouldnt have made it if he did move. Recently, Sept & Oct 2022 I have noticed while doing weekly shopping that the shelves holding food stuffs and other products are extremely dirty with spills, broken packaging and dirt and debris on shelves in each aisle. I have gone to mgmt twice with pictures showing my concern. The response was “…staff shortages” and “other than a vacuum we have no way to clean” apparently there is no procedure for cleaning spills of liquid. The dairy cases are filthy and since they are now often empty it is noticeable and off putting. If this happens again my next call will be to the county health department. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I have quite a few other pictures.
Desired outcome: For the health of the community a deep cleaning need to be done immediately.
Wheel chairs
I been a customer since yall open a store in Pelzer sc lebby st when yall bought out BILO yall didnt buy new wheelchairs the old ones from BILO didnt work when they had them and not working now i cant do my shopping with out a wheelchair you have a ton of buggs you can push but nothing handcap people I have sat and cry in the lobby because not having away to shop do something you need about four wheel chair please am begging you please i cant shop with out one there alot handcap people live in these town today date is 9/28/2022 I have talk with all the mangages there no help at all
Customer service representative
On August 20,2022 at 10:11p.m at your 1072 location on college park rd Ladson Sc I was shopping as I’m walking to the front I had my arms full wallet keys phone and grocery’s so I placed 2 items into my disposable shopping bag to keep from dropping my things I’m headed for the register as I’m walking about 3 feet away a Mrs.Ravi’s walks back behind me again with a candy sour look yelling that I had something in my bag! I noticed her as I walked in because I’m a faithful food lion shopper and I’ve never seen a hateful employee at any location and I visit them often she gave me a nasty up and down look as I turn mortified as what just happened so I continued to walk to the register I sat my 3 items down along with my bag with the 2 heavy ones in there I Understand I should have gotten a cart but also I wasn’t anywhere near the exit when she so loudly yelled I had stolen stuff anyone from my school moms or kids could have heard this lie! This is absurd behavior and she should not be allowed to be in the service business acting like that it’s defamation of character! Thanks for your time

Unprofessional rude arrogant store clerk
Tonight 8/3/2022 approximately 800 pm, I ran to the Food Lion on Hicone Road, Greensboro, NC. I purchased my food with no problems. I asked the clerk who was had helped another customer purchasing lottery tickets if he could help me and he said in about 3 minutes because he was cashing in his quarters in the machine (no problem). Rude clerk came and I asked for 2 power ball and 2 cash 5. He rang them up and said I gave him $5. I said I gave you $20. He said I didn't. I said If I'm wrong I apologize. He then said "you aren't going to scam me are you f — King blind". I responded negatively and said you are not going to call me blind because I have on shades. He proceeded to ask the other clerk what the bill was still calling me blind. The manager came and thought he was appropriate because he continued calling me blind and a scammer and said "call cooperate here's my name and number". I was inappropriate for being called a scammer and fking blind. I am 75 yrs old & have been a customer for 30-40 years and have never experienced this behavior. My FL card # is [protected] to verify how long I have been a customer.
Desired outcome: The manager was offended because I called the clerk an a-hole but OK for the clerk to call me a scammer and fking blind. Both of them needs customer service training but that clerk needs to be terminated or issue a formal apology.
I was leaving parking lot after shopping at Foodlion and a foodlion customer parked two buggies in a unsafe place!
Good afternoon this is John Webster. I’m writing because I have a formal complaint. I shop at your foodlion nearly almost every day. I’m a elderly man 73 years old and I go in foodlion and always have a pleasant shopping experience. This particular day Friday July 15 2022 around 2:30 pm it was storming, lightning and raining real hard I had already completed my order. I left to get in my vehicle. I was parked in the handicap parking zone.
Another young lady came to place her groceries from 2 buggies of groceries in her car and it was also raining. Instead of parking them buggies in a safe place the buggies was placed at the pole in front of my truck, 2008 Honda black crv. While I was in process of pulling off some how I guess the two buggies that the lady parked at the pole aas was not safely put at the pole. While I pulled off both buggies was moving to middle of the street and I didn’t see them until they had already hit my Honda CR-V. I got out to advise the manager of this incident and the manager seen where the dents was placed onto my vehicle. I was so distraught and disappointed that foodlion themselves wasn’t able to handle this situation so I was advised to go get an estimate and contact corporate office. So that’s what im doing now hoping we come come to an agreement to get my vehicle fixed. I understand that the lady shouldn’t have parked the buggies where she parked them. On both parties I should have paid more attention however At this point my vehicle is damaged by foodlions buggies. It was raining, storming, and I would love to be compensated for my truck being messed up. I hope we can resolve this issue in a timely manner. Below is an estimate I received at gate city auto body. Customer service
To say I was disgusted by my experience at Food Lion, 3200 Old Washington RD, Waldorf, MD 20602 on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m. is an understatement. On this day, I purchased a $1,100 money order and attempted to purchase a second one for $300. Although approved, they said the store policy was that they do not accept credit cards for money orders. Upset, yet maintaining my composure, I informed her that I was not informed of this. She stated that she asked me if the last one was done using a debit card. While she did ask me this, she did not make it clear that debit card were the only cards accepted for such transactions.
Next, I asked to speak to a manager. A woman who identified herself only as “Ms. Barbara,” made very snide comments to me when I explained that my wife and I just had a baby last month, that I needed to pay my rent, and that this was inconvenient. I then asked to speak to a higher up. She said in an abrupt manner “I am the top boss of this station,” “there is nothing you can do about it,” and other unkind things that I do not remember at the moment being as though I focused on maintaining my composure.
After I saw this was getting me nowhere, I told her that 1.) I am angry; 2.) I am a Christian; and 3.) Because of my religious conviction, I will not tell her what I think of her customer service skills; 4.) I am leaving. With that I turned to leave. As I was leaving, she shouted in front of a store full of customers, “We’ll have security escort you out.” I responded that I did not need an escort, I am a Christian man who is leaving to avoid a confrontation. She replied “Oh, I think you do!” To request that a security guard remove a customer who is 1.) Not using abusive language; 2.) Not threatening her; and 3.) Leaving of his own free will; is disrespectful to my dignity as a human being.
I had to ask myself, why Ms. Barbara would take the added steps of shouting at me in a store full of people and totally humiliating me by asking security to escort me out when I was neither belligerent nor a threat. It was clear that it was racially motivated. Why else would she ask security to escort a customer who was leaving out of the store? Especially when this customer was not even disrespectful. What she did is against the law, and two eyewitnesses were equally disgusted by her behavior.
Pursuant to State Government Article, §20-304, Annotated Code of Maryland, it is unlawful for an owner or operator of a place of public accommodation or an agent/employee of the owner or operator to refuse, withhold from, or deny to anyone the accommodations, advantages, facilities and privileges of a place of public accommodation because of race, sex, age, color, creed, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability. The law only requires that I prove a casual connection between the two, and there would be no other reason for her to mistreat a customer who was peaceful, yet direct.
Desired outcome: 1.) Ms. Barbara held responsible for her actions.2.) Some sort of compensation if my rent incurs late fees.3.) An apology for the way I was treated/racially profiled.
Stolen money
The food lion #2835 in inman sc has charged my card for 51.61 on july 12 2022,
The problem I have with this is I was not at food lion at this time, I need my money back, now. I was there ealier and yes I know the time frame that I was there I get alerts that state the place and time as well as the amount being spent.
This is really unprofessional, dont know if they have been hacked or it is within the store but it needs to stop, this is the first time either, a couple of weeks ago around 2 am, I work third shift, I got a message from my bank saying 51.61 was charged to my bank but was declined for not suffiecent funds, and this time the money came out even though I was over my limit. Need this resolved soon.
Desired outcome: money put back or a cashiers check in the stated amount
Boston butt
I purchased a Boston butt today as well as 2 cartons of blackberries, July 8th at the air station Food Lion in Jacksonville, NC. I have never had issues with the quality of Food Lion produce or meats. The Boston butt was $30.00 and was nothing but fat and bone. It was purchased for my daughters birthday, we are making pulled pork. Tomorrow I will have to get up early to make other arrangements for the party food and spend additional money.
The blackberries were moldy in the center. I was able to rinse about 1/3 to keep to eat but the rest were totally inedible.
I have noticed that overall, at most stores, the quality of food has declined greatly. With the cost of living increasing, it is really disappointing to spend money on products that I can not use.

I was in the Prichard Road location this evening around 8 or 9 pm. I have never noticed hours for your Deli and definitely stood their with the associate's back to us for the better part of 10 minutes. We then asked about the case being empty and were told what we see is what we get. The associate then went on with attitude through the entire transaction as we asked for a total of approximately 5 lbs of deli meat. He didn't like that we asked for the product shaved and kept trying to end the transaction at weights lower then what we were asking for. I get it he doesn't want to be there and the job market is tough for employers right not. Maybe the customer service business isn't best for him or the young woman loading the case, as we finished. This is not the first time we've dealt with someone angry at the Deli counter. Maybe Food Lion should switch to the auto slicers so shaved meat isn't such an issue for the employees. Clearly this location has an issue offering customer service.
Desired outcome: Coach the employees that you're in the customer service business.
Supervisor
The supervisor is highly ill-mannered. I believe her name is Katy. Nearly every time I go to this store and see her she's being rude to the employees. For a while I didn't think much of it, until now. Some of the employees seem down when she's around, after I watched her verbally abuse one of the employees they seemed visibly upset, so much so that I wanted to confront her about her rude behavior. The last straw was when my friend told me about everything that she has done to them. She's damanding, emotionally abusive, expects too much, and just seems to have a hostile attitude most of the time towards employees. When my friend recently got home from work, they told me that every time they see her at work they feel nervous and uncomfortable. That is not ok. You're supposed to treat employees with respect. If she is going to behave this way, she doesn't need to be working with other people. Please note that I have changed or left out information for my privacy.
