DC, We picked up vehicle on 11/4 at Reagan National Airport in Washington,
However, on 11/7 we were unable to start the vehicle. When we called, they were unable to help us. They suggested we return the vehicle to the airporto.
We continually told them we could not do that because it would not start. After many minutes going back and forth with the person on the phone and multiple calls to service, we finally said that we were just going to leave the car where it was and rent another vehicle in Frederick since they could not send us someone to help. We finally called a friend who lived nearby who came and jump started the car. The next day a truck showed up with a fellow who said he was there to jump start the car. Since the car was already running, he never even got out of the truck. We have now been charged $119.40 for this drive-by. Also, the car needed the oil changed.

September 23, 2023 Calgary airport 10-12 pm.
Computer system down for budget/avis.
Agents at desk had huge waiting line before telling us what was going on,
then suggested we "come back tomorrow morning". flight was hour late and all of us had hotel reservations that night and ours happened to be an hour away drive. Come back in the morning? wt?
Wait wait wait. Agent suggested going to avis desk, "maybe they have another car you can get as they have a bigger inventory" (so our current price reserved not good and start all over with high price at desk?). I waited at Avis desk a good walk away from Budget another 20 minutes. Finally Avis hand writing contracts but customers being helped were standing there for at least 20 minutes each. doing what? how long does it take to write in info on a form? Budget finally decided they could do that too. My husband was still standing in line at budget. When we finally got to the desk, it took way too long even though we had the reservation with all info on our phones. We got out of there after midnight. Flight arrival was 9:30. Totally unacceptable service and agents just shrugging their shoulders not caring that we were all waiting so long and exhausted. Could have done hand contracts after short time of computer outage (company wide outage) knowing it was not coming back on line soon. Also, not even a water fountain nearby.
We have been using budget in the US regularly but our last 3 rentals, one in Calgary and 2 in Jackson Hole were both problematic in getting service at the desk or contacting the actual location desk on phone. In Jackson had to drive to the airport an hour over mountain pass to extend my rental. Budget would not do on the phone. Had SUV with bald tires and one leaking tire had to fill daily. Rethinking using another company.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response and possibly some credit.
Customer service
I called 4 times to get my money returned to me for a car I could not pick up because I didn't have a major credit card of which they never told me about! I have the same bank account number but a different card because I lost it. I gave them the new #. I still have not received my $134.81. This is ridiculous. The number they gave me is [protected]. First of all, I do not have a driver's license.
Budget at the DTW airport allowed a scammer to use my credit card to rent a card without my authorization. Why rent a car, a huge asset, to a scammer. without following the protocol? I shouldn't be responsible for this charge. I called Budget a few times to report this charge but no help. My case number is [protected]. The confirmation for the reservation is 36727499US4 under Frank Gyamerah and I found out that he returned the car to Ohio. Budget needs to reimburse me ASAP and go after the scammer.
Please avoid this place at all cost.

I traveled to Kona yesterday on business. I was unable to rent the car I prepaid for as my license was "RED Flagged" on the 365 scanner.
After getting in touch with the Hawaii State Department of Motor Vehicle Driver's License Bureau, they could not understand why a red flag was coming up as my license has no flags or issues attached to it. My driving record/driver's license is clean.
I ended up walking over to another rental car company located next door and was able to rent a car without any issues, albeit for a higher price.
I want to be sure that I am not charged for the car I prepaid for since I was unable to rent it. Also, I would like to know why my license was flagged.
Budget Rent A Car has been my go to choice for renting a vehicle when traveling, which has been frequent throughout the year, reference my Budget account #SS707Y.

Lost and found items
I am very dissatisfied with my customer service experience with Budgets lost and found department. We traveled with family to Las Vegas. We returned our van to the Las Vegas, Nevada airport and once we got to the airport portal my husband realized that he left his glasses and telephone in the vehicle. My sister filed a claim, but no one has replied. Every time I try to call to check on the claim I keep getting sent to a voice mail which is full and every time I call customer service I get misrouted or hung up. Very unprofessional business. I will not do business with budget again. They used to be my go to car rental place, but no more. Customer service and satisfaction is priority. You all have lost a good one.
Desired outcome: I would love to talk to someone to see if my items were actually found.

Dear Budget/ Avis Car Rental,
My husband and I had a terrible experience with Budget at the BWI airport recently and would like to file a claim.
1) We arrived at BWI to pick up our prepaid car and waited over an hour in line before a car was assigned to us.
2) We received a Kia and drove to the hotel. The next morning we were unable to get into the car and it had to be towed back the airport.
3) We were unable to rent another car until the towed car made it back to the airport.
4) In the meantime, my daughter called the Budget customer service line and was told at least 3 times that once we returned to BWI we would not need to stand in line and to just go the front of the line.
5) We did as instructed and were met with rude customer service people who told us that we needed to go to the back of the line and that they only had trucks available for rental.
6) We stood in line for 2 more hours making it a total of 3 hours of waiting time.
7) Consequently, we wasted the entire morning and missed our family function all together.
8) I want a refund for the wasted day and strongly suggest that these so called customer service front people be reprimanded.
9) I have been a Budget Rent A Car customer for many years but will never rent from you again.

i tried to rent from Budget online. With a clasic bait and switch i was presented with a pay now and save button with a good price for rental. I clicked the button and was given a price much higher than shown. I contacted support and ask to cancel Immediately. i was infvormed I had to pay $50 to cancel and my card was charged

We rented a car from Budget, Avis, Payless desk at the airport in Iowa and when we returned it, we had left behind an electronic tablet on the front passenger seat floor. The person who checked in the car found it and attempted to contact us before our flight left. We didn't get the message until arriving home. We followed up with many phone calls over the following month. Many phone numbers we were given were not working anymore. After a month and filling out paperwork for the event, we gave up. We never got the lost item.

Hyundai Santa Fe rental Oct. 7, 2023 from 5140 Dixie Hywy., Fairfield, Ohio office
1. Oct. 7, 2023 picked up Hyundai Santa Fe from Fairfield, Ohio office with approx. 60,000 miles. Car had some obvious dents and scratches that we had to point out and the agent seemed put out that she had to indicate those on her check sheet. 2. Drove on Oct. 8, 2023 on vacation towards South Dakota and car died at BP station In Bloomington, Illinois, after the tank had been filled up. 3. Spoke with Roadside assistance who tried to get us a car from two different airports in Illinois and after numerous tries, one airport finally answered their phone saying they couldn't get us a car for 4-6 hours. 4. Told them that was unacceptable and asked her to call an Uber to pick us up to take us to closest airport which was ~ 10 miles away. Was told she would call an Uber but someone had to stay with car until Tow Truck arrived to pick up the car. I agreed to go to airport and my husband would stay with car until tow arrived. 5. Airport advised they would not give us a car until the other car arrived at the airport. Tow finally arrived and found car battery had loose cables which caused it not to operate. Fixed the cables and husband drove car to airport to pick me up. Did not want to keep that car so airport provided us a Kia with about 9,000 miles on it. 6. When we got the car at the airport, gas tank only had one bar - not a full tank which is required when returning a car. Had to fill it up but when we returned it we only returned it with one bar as we had gotten it. 7. We lost almost 3 hours on vacation due to problems with this car. 8. When returning the car to Fairfield, Ohio on Oct. 14, agent had an attitude and was rude to my husband who has a speech impediment. He tried to explain about the empty gas tank, and was going to follow her to the car, and she put her hand up and said stay inside while I check. She went out to check the car and when she returned she rudely said there was no gas in the car. He tried to explain about the empty gas tank and she was reluctant to listen to him. At the advice of Budget, they told us to get a photo of the odometer on his phone showing one bar of gas and the mileage, which we did. 9. I told the agent maybe someone put a new battery in it and did not check the cables properly. She informed us that she picked the car up at a mechanic the morning she transferred it to us. Obviously it must have had some issues. 10. In the end, we feel some compensation is in order and only fair. This situation has given us doubts to use Budget again in the future. Car Hire Cancellation Fees
Car rental was made online period 9/10-15/10/2023 from Ben Gurion Airport Tel Aviv. Booking ref: [protected]
Because of the outbreak of war, Easyjet cancelled my flight on the 9th October 2023.
I have been refunded only 50% and charged a cancellation fee 50% because I did not show up for the car.
This is unacceptable and wish to escalate this to a formal complaint.

EV Car rental Pompano Beach Florida
I rented an EV Hyundai vehicle from budget rent a car from 10-11-2023 to 10-15-2023. The girl at the counted was very accommodating and said they only had EV cars and no gas models available. She had a new one with 500 miles on it. I figured I would try it. I had time for .15 hour super charging as I was driving about 700 miles. The problem I ran into as there were no super charging stations on route 95. You go off the exit and seek one out. Maybe 10 miles to find a super charger. The navigation system would send me to 12 hour slow charges and then I would have to go to my phone and see if I can make it with 20 miles left on vehicle. The Hyundai would only give like 200 miles per charge. It was running out of gas with no gas stations around. I made it to 40 miles of Brunswick Georgia by about 3pm. I looked at the map of budget rental places i saw one in Brunswick Georgia 40 miles south with 60 miles left on vehicle. I looked at the electrify america app and there was no charging stations north. South I drove 40 miles north to budget at the airport. They wouldn't switch the car out cause they don't do EV.I had 20 miles left on my charge. Employee knew of a super charger behind walmart. I went and charged saw enough to make it half way back home. I came back. Took me 3.5 hours to obtain last charge; got home at 1am. 24 hours of driving and charging and only got half way.
Don't do this to your clients. Not your fault but you should know the reality of EV. Those staions on interstate should be mandated to have EV Charging. Worst experince I've had in long time but I don't blame budget.
Desired outcome: I am retired on fixed income. This trip was to make me some money. I'd like my money refunded or even better a free car rental voucher for further GAS trip. I lost the money for my hotel also but I am not asking for that.

I rented a car from Budget, picked it up from JFK and was treated appallingly. I have a larger car than I requested, it's smashed up in front, the car is filthy and when I asked the only person available outside when I went to collect it, he said, "I can't help you." So, I have rented a piece of junk. Have tried to exchange it, have been sent here and there from Budget customer service. I've spent hours trying to speak with someone at Budget, and 5 days later, I have gotten nowhere. I'm sent to a Budget office to exchange the car, only to be told, sorry, can't help you at all. It's insanity. I am none too happy. And now, another 1/2 hour waiting online to speak with someone. No one knows what they're doing. I end up being sent on a goose chase. I want to hear from someone who has a clue.

They tripled my original “estimate”
I rented a car for the month of August from budget for a fee of $1057.33. I later discovered on my credit card that they had billed me $2968.79 claiming that the original charge was only an estimate and basically they can charge me whatever they want whenever they want. I have been renting cars for over 40 years and never in my life have I experienced anything like this. They won’t do anything about it so I have had to dispute the charge. They have been horrible to deal with!
