A reservation to a property in Gaston, NC was made by someone named Brad Meyer, who was assigned my old phone number (***-***-2605). Apparently, he was able to log in using this phone number and charge my debit card for a trip for him and his wife. He realized what had happened almost immediately and notified the property owner, Samantha. He then paid for their stay with his card. The charges made to my card were never reversed or refunded. I updated my account phone number and had to cancel my debit card for security reasons.
Annette at my bank told me she is willing to speak to any Airbnb rep about this situation.
I had a case number #A123745829 that was closed by one of the customer service reps. I don't know why. I have spoken to Ubaid (July 27), Prithi (Aug 11), Yashmien (Sep 2), Geetanshi (Sep 3), Schweba (Sep 21) and all have promised to sort this out but they close our conversation and I never hear back from anyone. The customer service process is a TRAIN WRECK. No one ever bothered to contact me, my bank, Brad Meyer, or the host, Samantha. But I was just informed after "a thorough investigation" Airbnb could find no fraudulent activity. Absurd!
I have emailed and posted to Brian Chesky on X to no avail.
I Did NOT make this reservation. I have never even considered traveling to Gaston, NC!
I should be refunded this money immediately! A horrible way to run a business. I have used Airbnb for years bit I'm done.
Claimed loss: $707.68
Desired outcome: Full refund
