Complaint Regarding Whirlpool Washer Model WTW4855HW3 – Serial CC1501839

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to formally express my strong dissatisfaction with the Whirlpool top-load washer, model WTW4855HW3, serial number CC1501839, which I acquired in September 2023 as part of a new home purchase through a new home builder. The. appliance was included as a promotion with the purchase of a house and presented as a reliable, brand-new unit intended to meet the needs of a modern household.

Unfortunately, less than two years after installation, the washer has completely failed. The issues are as follows:

1. The unit becomes stuck in the drain/spin cycle immediately upon being plugged into an outlet.
2. None of the wash cycles can be started—buttons are unresponsive.
3. Once powered, no wash cycle can be stopped or reset.

These failures render the washer unusable and suggest a serious defect in either the control board or pressure sensor system. I have since learned that Whirlpool issued Technical Service Pointer W11766193 in March 2025 for models with serial numbers beginning in CC, which includes mine. The bulletin reportedly addresses pressure sensor and drain pump issues consistent with my experience.

I believe it is deceptive and unfair to sell or distribute a product with such a short lifespan, especially when consumers reasonably expect major appliances to last 8–12 years. This situation has caused me significant inconvenience and undermined my trust in Whirlpool products.

I am requesting the following:
- A full replacement of the defective unit or reimbursement for a comparable washer
- A formal acknowledgment of the issue and confirmation of whether my unit qualifies under the service bulletin
