Washer failure within 2 years
We purchased a Whirlpool washer 08/23 beginning in January 2025 the washer agitator stopped and made a noise. We did not purchase an extended warrantee as other whirlpool appliances had always performed well past any warrantee. Our home washer is still in service well after more than 20 years. The washer in question has been in our AirB&B and is used only when rented, approximately 60 times since installed. The Short-Term Rental unit is in our back yard so we can vouch for non-industrial use. I imagine the washer is suffering from low usage. Anyway, our local appliance service was able to diagnose the onboard computer was at fault and reset it with the warning that the unit was bound to fail and it did 38 days later.
We were surprised to learn the choice we have is to buy another washer or pay $35 X 12 months plus parts to take a chance of fixing the current washer.
Recommendation: If you are wealthy this means nothing to you otherwise find an analog washer. We have.
Commercial dryer
Whirlpool is a terrible company I ordered a washer and dryer, and the dryer came without a coil flame sensor wiring harness and timer in which is just a hull after installing all of them parts the dryer still does not work and they have to order more parts they told me to deal with it and they are still trying to repair it instead of giving me a new dryer I will never purchase anything from you guys again you have terrible customer service skills
Recommendation: DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM YOU GUYS
Unreliable Maytag Dishwasher (Wash Motor)
We purchased a Maytag dishwasher (Model #MDB4949SKZ0) in 2021. With approximately 3 years of general residential use with good dish cleaning results, the wash motor failed (did not engage). We also learned that the control panel is also potentially faulty. The following service flash code #W11-407 (F9 E1) was triggered due to overheating with the motor not functioning. A wash motor replacement is an expensive repair and certainly should have been built to last longer than 3 years. We are highly disappointed with the sustainability/quality of this product.

I had purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher in January of 2024 which has now failed. At the time of purchase, I did not purchase the extended warranty which a Whirlpool representative was aggressively pushing because I had confidence in Whirlpool quality. I was wrong. This is not the same Whirlpool of years ago. After purchasing, I had been made aware by a couple of friends that Whirlpool was severely lacking in quality and service, and now I know it to be true. In the future, I will stay away from Whirlpool and any other brand owned by Whirlpool.

Poor Design--NEVER AGAIN
Whirlpool WRS970CIHZ00, Side by Side, Icemaker stopped working only 3yrs old. The last Whirlpool we had frozen all of the food in the refrigerator not the freezer. Had to pay a repair service $156.00 to come out & say it is a faulty bad design in manufacturing of wire harness at base of door, it cut all of the wires in half from opening & closing the door.
They would not repair but tried to get us to buy a whole new door for $1400.00 + labor.!
Save your money for a better product
Ordered a stainless French Door style refrigerator with ice and water on the outside left door. Due to delivery problems (which were eventually corrected) this refrigerator had to be replaced and all was well except for a noisy fan motor, until now. I just went to change out the ice and water filter only to discover that the filter number in the refrigerators book is NOT the correct filter (only found out about the wrong filter after I purchased new filters using the displayed number. Now the fun begins when I called Home Depot. They told me that they do not even have the correct filter and I would have to contact Whirlpool directly. I did that only to find out that the correct filter was only available from the Whirlpool web site at $59.99 each. That is an exceptionally expensive proprietary water filter. Had I known that it was proprietary, I never would have purchased a Whirlpool product and this was one of four kitchen appliances purchased at the same time. The Whirlpool customer care person told me that the correct water filter was not even available at all until February or March of 2024. The appliances were purchased in November of 2023.
Recommendation: Stay away from Maytag (which also gave us problems a year ago) or Whirlpool. Their customer care is non existant.

Whirlpool Washer Don't Buy This Model WTW5057LW
Last month we purchased a Whirlpool WTW5057LW to replace our GE 5 year old washer. This was not a low end or top end model, so we expected a reasonable level of quality. We purchased from Home Depot and had them install it.
The installation went fine. When we washed our first load we noticed a "Clunking" noise as well as a louder operating noise than our old GE unit. Whirlpool sent a tech out. He did not find anything wrong, he explained that it was designed in a way that this noise was normal. Nothing was wrong.
My wife and I could hear the clunking and loud operating noise from the laundry room with the door closed. This isn't acceptable. I spoke with Whirlpool asking them to replace this with another model (even at my expense). They refused. I then contacted Home Depot and asked them to replace with a different model, again offering to pay any difference. They refused.
I use to like Whirlpool products, however, it seems as though their cost cutting in products have created cheaper products with less customer satisfaction. Their attitude on customer support certainly reflects they do not care to try and support their customers.
As a result of this unfortunate experience and expens, e I do not plan to purchase major appliances from Home Depot or Whirlpool going forward.

Microwave works well but looks and feels unappealing
I bought a whirpool microwave recently and it has worked well so far with even reheating and defrosting in particular. The only issue I have is that it just doesn't look nor sound like it was well made with quality materials. I'm not sure where it was manufactured (most likely china) but it looks cheap and it doesnt sound sturdy when your opening and closing the door. I only wished it felt and looked like what I had actually paid for.

My husband is a 100% disabled veteran a has stage 4 cancer. We feel we should not have to endure Whirlpool’s lemons or their lack of customer service. We just want a working refrigerator.
Recommendation: Don't purchase from Whirlpool.
Faulty Washing Machine - Unresolved
Whirlpool are simply the most difficult company that I have ever had to deal with, customer service is extremely poor and there is no email address that we can use which responds to a customer issue.
Our machine is under warranty and the company refuse to replace it even though it has been faulty since purchase. We have had 5 engineer call outs and each engineer has a different story, they have yet to fix the problem...
DO NOT purchase Any Whirlpool item as it has caused months of stress and wasted time off work. I have recently bought a new dishwasher and have refused to purchase a Whirlpool, we are building a new home and I will not purchase any Whirlpool items, all of my friends are in the same phase of their lives and after witnessing our experience, they will not purchase any Whirlpool appliance. Customer Service should be #1 but unfortunately with Whirlpool they will not stand by their customer or indeed their warranty.

We purchased our Whirlpool stove a little over two years ago. Around 14-15 months after purchase — just outside the standard one-year warranty — we tried the convection bake and air fry features for the first time, and we began experiencing a loud 'tinging' noise from the fan. At that time, Whirlpool acknowledged the issue as a likely manufacturing defect and kindly assisted us with a repair, despite the warranty having technically expired (which we greatly appreciated).
Unfortunately, the same issue has now returned. While we use the convection feature infrequently, the problem has reappeared in the exact same way, indicating that the original defect was never fully resolved. Despite this being a continuation of a known issue, Whirlpool has declined to provide further support, citing that the product is now out of warranty.
This is extremely disappointing. We acted in good faith, reported the issue promptly, and accepted the initial repair as a resolution. It is clear now that the problem was not adequately addressed, and we are left with a recurring defect in a product we expected to last much longer.
I believe Whirlpool should stand behind its products and take responsibility for known manufacturing issues, regardless of arbitrary warranty timelines. They should offer a resolution that reflects the quality and integrity that their brand is known and paid for.

Washing machine
I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine from Lowe's in RI on 12/5/2023 and the washing machine stopped working appropriately. The machine starts up after the wash cycle has completed and goes into the drain mode and continues to run as if it is draining when no water is present. To stop it from happening the washer has to be unplugged. After reading several upon several reviews from other customers, each and every one of them is having the same issue and within the same timeframe of ownership. I have reached out to Whirlpool directly and they have only stated they will keep my info and complaint of file. This is the washing machine info Whirlpool Deep Water Wash 3.5-cu ft High Efficiency Agitator Top-Load Washer (White) Item #782472- Model #WTW4816FW. I feel this is a persistent issue with the washer and each interaction with Whirlpool goes unresolved. I am hoping to get some form of resolution/repair for the issue as this has impacted many consumers. The fee to have someone come and diagnose the machine is unacceptable as it is a year and a couple of months old. It is tough to make a decision to pay double for someone to come out and diagnose the problem and then it be more than a new washer to replace. Once you get the diagnosis and see it is more cost effective to buy a new one, you are now out the money spent for the service call and out the money for a new washer. Whirlpool washer and service
We purchased the washer from Lowes back in January. After 2 weeks, we realized we had water in our bedroom. After investigating, we realized that the drain hose had a small leak. Contacted Whirlpool customer service and they told me I had to fill out a claim form, get 2 estimates, return the hose, and send all the paperwork back. Whirlpool told us that the hose had to be sent to the manufacturer for testing. It has been 2 months and are still waiting for them to take care of this problem.

Rust in our ice cubes and in our ice maker - whirlpool model# wrf757sdhz02

We purchased a Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot in 2021.
While we were recently cleaning the water dispenser, we emptied the ice and put the ice maker/bucket on the counter on a towel. When we picked up the bucket to reinstall it into the appliance, we noticed that there was dark, rust pool of water on the towel. We picked up the bucket and turned it upside down and observed rust/corrosion on the underside coming from the ice chopper.
Now we have health concerns about whether this corrosion was leaching into our water and ice. We do not want to use the bucket or make ice - which is the entire point of having a water dispensing /ice making refrigerator.
We have made numerous attempts to report the incident as stainless steel does not corrode or rust and this is obviously a defective material or an inferior product. We were given a case # but then were passed back and forth to “teams” that placed us on hold for long periods of time, or passed the call to someone else who did the same, all the while professing that this “team” was the only department which could help us.
We have noticed that there is a “new” and “improved” ice bucket.
Desired outcome: We would like the “new” and “improved” ice maker bucket to replace the defective one.

On 05/19/2024 purchased a dishwasher M#: WDT970SAKV S#: FD1301120 from Lowe’s Home Center (Documentation attached to the email)
On 06/17/2024 delivered and installed
On 11/11/2024 the Console/Panel started returning weird error codes called Whirlpool to get the dishwasher repaired under the warranty. This is when I found out that our warranty started on the Date of Purchase not the Date of Install. So the first month of the warranty covered it sitting in Whirlpool warehouse, shipping company and Lowe’s warehouse. We lost a month off the warranty.
On 11/19/2024 Ed Kraft with Convenient Appliance Service Inc. unfortunately he couldn’t repair the dishwasher because Whirlpool did not enter the specific problem information into the work order.
On 12/06/2024 Ed Kraft with Convenient Appliance Service Inc. repaired the dishwasher. Again, we lost another month off the warranty.
During the time between the repair call and the dishwasher being fixed I did some research, some of the reviews are listed below. Many reviews indicated the adhesive on Console (W11460908) allowed water (steam) to leak down to the Panel – UI (W11632709). I have attached several photos showing exactly that. (Photos attached to the email) I can tell you we do NOT use the drying function of the dishwasher, rather we open the door and allow the dishes to air dry. So the steam must be coming when the dishes are being washed.
Our concern is the dishwasher reliability may not last until the end of the one year warranty. Which means the repairs will be on us. We had a KitchenAid before this which lasted 11 years with no problem. My wife chose Whirlpool thinking she would get the same reliability as the KitchenAid. Sadly she was proven wrong.
With all that being said we would like to request a 3 or 4 year extended warranty from Whirlpool on this dishwasher. Hopefully the repair done on 12/06/2024 will allow this dishwasher to work for 11 years.

I took delivery of this fridge after waiting 90 days on March 19, 2024. By April 15th I had to get a service tech out as the fridge had stopped cooling. The evaporator was completely frozen, the defrost was not kicking in. He made som adjustments and all was OK for about 3 weeks, then the same issue, this time they changed the control board. This fix lasted over a month, then the tech came back on July 4th, 2024 for the same freezing up issue. This time a thermistor was changed. Well the tech had to come back again today, July 12th a whole 8days later to fix the same freezing up issue. Not sure what adjustments were made but supposedly it is now working. Don't know for how long though.
I must commend the service tech, same one each time. He has been very good.
Whirlpool on the other hand, not helpful at all. This fridge is a lemon and they refuse to replace it! They had the audacity to offer me a 3month extended warranty!

Whirlpool all in one washer dryer combo
We were excited to try the new Whirlpool washer and dryer combo. Biggest mistake we made. After using the unit for a few weeks we started having issues. Right away we noticed the unit doesn't actually dry the clothes as it should. It took one small load an average of 15 HOURS to dry..that's not including wash time. So, we started getting the unit serviced and every time we were left frustrated and in no better spot then before. We got it serviced so many times in the first year with still no help or offered solutions. Then when the year was up, Whirlpool told us we had to buy an extended warranty through them if we wanted our unit to get fixed. So we did...and we have gotten it serviced 6 additional times on the extended warranty. Still no resolution. Whirlpool and Whirlpools extended warranty AIG are claiming that the 15+ hour drying time on our washer is working how it was designed. When we purchased this machine we were told it would take a couple hours longer to dry. 15 hours does not equal a couple hours. We would NEVER have bought this machine if they said on the listing that it was "designed to dry for 15 hours for a small load". Now we are left with no resolution. Oh, and we were using the machine exactly as they said, so no not a user error. In fact, they told our service tech who was working on our machine that they stopped making and selling this machine because "the drying is not working". So, they will admit that to the rervice tech..but then turn around and tell the customer that it is working as designed. They refuse to send out any service or offer any sort of buy back. We are just out the 1.5 thousand dollars that we spent on this POS machine. Whirlpool has the worst customer service and I will never purchase anything from them again. They will not own up to their mistakes and help the customers out. All they care about is keeping their money. A big greedy corporate company with no care for their customers. Just their money. Disgusted.

Whirlpool top load washer with removable
Reaching out because I had no luck with Whirlpool. I purchased this two years ago.
Right after owning this for a year I noticed around the softener and bleach compartment the part was no longer seated any more due to a bad finishing on product. It’s literally pealing away.. the coating is horrible!
This should not have happened I should not have had to buy an extended warranty on a brand new machine. And for the paint coating to start peaking a year later! On a 1400 washer!
I’ve reached out three times sent pictures and told I’m out of warranty! It’s not about warranty it’s about a bad coating job!

I am surprised that there is not a way to clean out the lint out behind the screen of the bottom lint filter. It was a poor design to not have the screen be removable so that the customer could clean as needed. Instead I am told that you have to have a technician come in and take apart the dryer to clean at who knows what cost. Is there another option? The model # I have is WED7990FW0.
I used a small wire and knocked all the lint off the evaporator fins. The problem is all of the lint settled to the bottom and because the holes are so small in the screen the shop vac did not suck the lint out. So eventually it is going to just pile up and block it completely.
Desired outcome: Can the screen be cut out and cleaned out then taped back in. or can I drill a one inch hole in the screen to suck out the lint. Would these be options? Would whirlpool pay the cost? I'd appreciate a response.

Whirlpool Intellifresh convertible refrigerator
This is the fourth year after I bought my refrigerator. There is a major design flaw with this model.
I have already done two services, paying hefty amounts as service charge, and for part replacement. The technician advised me that I have to buy extended warranty from Whirlpool for next three years. The reason is that these models have been reporting too many complaints due to its heavy dependence on circuit boards. The moisture from the fan set in the freezer had caused a short circuit in one of the boards in my case.
I had to pay more than 5000. An extended warranty for three years would cost me another 3500. I don’t understand why am I required to pay for a design fault at Whirlpool’s end. My refrigerator is not a cheap one, I had paid through my nose for it. It cost me 30,000 four years back.
Should a corporate not show more responsibility towards its customers? The Panasonic refrigerator that I had got for my mom at the same time is working super well in comparison. People, always do your homework well if you ever go with Whirlpool.

Whirlpool high efficiency top load washing machine
Through Home Depot Portland Maine purchased July 15, 2022 Whirlpool High Efficiency Top Load Washing Machine. Came with manufacturers standard warranty. On February 19, 2024 the washing machine broke down with the problem that put in wash cycle and fill to selected wash level then the wash begins. When the washing machine clicks to the spin cycle the machine completely shuts off. This is permanent the the machine is completely unusable to wash clothes. The washer is 20 months old and slightly over the Manufacturers Standard Warranty. But Whirlpool is a strong company and has earned a strong reputation and that's why l chose Whirlpool. L paid $591.00 for a product l expected would last for many years. I am requesting Whirlpool stands behind their product and issue me a replacement at no charge and hopefully does not use that the washer exceeded their standard warranty. The fact that l only got 20 months usage from a Whirlpool product should be an embarrassment to them.

Refrigerator water filters
I accidently ordered the wrong water filters for my refrigerator. They arrived in a timely manner via P.O. [protected]. I called the filter department upon realizing my mistake. I received an e-mail from June, in the Consumer Direct Sales Team department. She instructed me to return the filters via FedEx asap. She provided me with RA #[protected]. The filters were sent back via FedEx Dec. 29, 2023. The FedEx Tracking Number assigned was [protected]. The package was sent to Whirlpool /Columbus/F315, 6241 Shook Rd,Lockbourne,OH 43137. FedEx told me the package was delivered 1/03/2024. After waiting a couple of weeks with NO REFUND to my Visa card, I made the second of four calls to inquire as to the status of my refund. After another week, I made a third call to the company. I was told that my refund was being processed. After checking my credit card account today, still no refund. When I called the company today, my original call with Erica was dropped. Please help me to resolve this issue.

We bought a brand new Whirlpool Washing machine in 2022 and did not have it a year and had to replace the Capacitor. Today, we had to replace the agitator, and pay $328 to get it done. We are very disappointed and frustrated with your product. Our last washing machine was still in perfect condition after 21 years, but we decided to get a new washer and dryer because we remodeled our laundry room. You don't expect to have these types of issues and out of pocket expenses with a brand new product, and we believe we truly bought a lemon. Refrigerator
Purchased a $4K kitchen aid refrigerator in 2021. Ice make went out in mid 2022. Had the ice maker replaced, had the water supply valve replaced twice and the appliance still doesn't make ice or dispense water. 5 months later I was told I can purchase an extended warranty through a subcontractor repair company for a monthly fee, that can be cancelled at anytime! Didn't make much sense to purchase an after the fact warranty only to be cancelled if the repair was successful. Reluctantly I did and that's when the fun started. All the information provided by Whirlpool's customer service was incorrect such as timely repairs and replacement of like goods if repairs are not successful and the fees for this "magical" warranty doubled with a one year minimum contract.
We had a Samsung refrigerator for 16 years prior to making this awful purchase.
No one has been able to figure out what is wrong with this unit, but I did. It is a defective product and I will never purchase any of their appliances again! I strongly recommend staying away from fancy looking pieces of junk disguised as reliable appliances.

What I can say. The worse appliances ever. From the first time after a couples months. The cheap made stove start to show the cheap quality. And more and more the cheap quality start to show every where from the crime parts to the black enamel finish g the is peeling off and the oven door glass that doesn’t never clean clean no material what you do. They already changed once under warranty but I stop the warranty. I am waiting the stove to brake and get a new brand. The worse item ever bought I had my first stove for 25 years. In white and I wanted to change big mistake. Do not buy stove range with pool. Very cheap quality look very good in the eyes but but very bad when you start to use especially if you can cook. Gold Series Whirlpool gas stove

I have a Gold Series Whirlpool stove. It apparently has been defective since I purchased in 2015. The flame on the burners is totally set too high. Every time I cook on it, I have to use the lowest setting, or I end up burning my wrist. I am tired of cooking everything on the low setting. Something needs to be changed for the burners to work on the proper control setting. I tried to find a video to show me how to try and fix it, but every video I saw was not the one for the model of stove I have. My husband does not have a clue about how to try and fix the problem. Do I have to continue cooking on a stove at a lower temperature, or risk burning myself?
