bought a brand new whirlpool dishwasher
Purchaced a Whirlpool Dishwasher at Lowe's. Two week delivery time. Model WDTA50SAHW.
I believe was manufactored at their Findlay, Ohio plant. Serial F82916705.
When the delivery men brought it, they dollied to my door. I noticed wires hanging out the bottom of the box. Before we brought it into the house, I made them aware of it and we put it on it's back. The delivery guys were very helpful and we took the bottom carboard off to investigate. I could tell it was a coil hanging. (Pic 4). Should have been connected to a valve. After a few minutes, I found the valve. It was the main water valve. The unit would have never worked! Luckily, I'm an electrician and was able to snap the coil on. I thanked the delivery guys and told them, "I hope I dont find anything else!
After they left I proceeded to open and inspect the machine.
Right off the bat I saw a large dent in the corner bottom of the door and paint chipped off. (Pic 1).
Then, I looked inside at the stainless steel inner tube. Two good sized dents in the upper back corner. The upper tray when fully closed hits the one dent.(pic 2).
Any finally, (I quit looking) the upper front corner door seal/structure also was dented. Possible leaker.

The box that was delivered had absolutley no signs of damage, so I assume these problem originated at the factory.
I find it hard to believe that all these issues were ignored at the factory? What ever happed to quality control? What ever happed to a final insection of a product? Are you more worried about production numbers rather than producing a quality product?
I truly hope the plant manager would take the time to read this. Or, someone forward it to him.
I would guess that this is not the type of product he wants his customers to purchase.
I am venting a little because, again we have to wait two more weeks to get another dishwasher. (Lowe's was very helpful with this and immediately ordered a new machine.)
And trust me, if there are any problems with the new one, it will be returned for my money back.
Whirlpool... are you listening? For what I thought was a good company, you should be listening.

While I appreciate your response, I do want to make very clear that these issues had nothing to to with your ability to control shipping and storage. I personally worked in a appliance factory environment for over 20 years. The issues I found had nothing to do with shipping and storage. I would hope you are not trying to “Pass the Buck” here. These are production and quality control issues. Plain and simple.
These issues should be taken directly to the plant manager and floor supervisors. Not just documented and filed. I hope that is the case. Otherwise, the problem does not get fixed. Can I ask if they were? If not, you arent doing your job.
Thank you, and by the way, I am getting my new Dishwasher delivered today. I will go over it with a fine tooth comb. Should I have to? Probably not but, as in your response, I am not sure Whirlpool takes these issues seriously.

I purchased a Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator W10706341A June 21, 2017 in Detroit Lakes, MN at Sears and paid $4, 278.93. Since then it has quit twice destroying all contents. I purchased the extended warranty and it's taken 3 weeks the first time to be fixed now one month before they can send a technician. My sister purchased a Kenmore refrigerator at Sears for $3500+ in September 2016 and several times it thawed the freezer and now quit. A brand new dishwasher that was not used for one year for a spec home purchased from Sears did not work. WARNING TO ANYONE PURCHASING APPLIANCES FROM SEARS... GO ELSEWHERE. For the second time it was taken for repair. Soon they brought it back in working conditions. However, in on month's time it failed again. They took the fridge again and gave me temporary fridge. After one year, they brought it again and took back their fridge. But on one month time the fridge stopped working. I spend 127 Bahrain BD for the fridge and I can't lose the money. I have been put through a lot since I bought this Whirlpool fridge. In Bahrain, if fridge is not working life becomes terrible and my family is suffering. I value every money I spend as it is hard earned money and would like to get value services from the product I spend on. The brand new product cannot fail like this… or I am sold an old fridge in makeover format or the product is defective. In either case, I deserve a replacement. I would like to request your kind attention to the problem and kindly replace my refrigerator as soon as possible.

I received a Maytag refrigerator 90 days ago and discovered that the icemaker door cover has a defect between the door in the icemaker leaving a large gap between the cover and the door... I do not want the refrigerator anymore because my eyes continue to follow the gap of the icemaker cover in my opinion as well as the technicians opinion the refrigerator has a defect. This is my first experience with any Maytag product and it will be my last... now fast forward after the first complaint on this website. Whirlpool Corporation sent a brand "New" icemaker cover to my home from Whirlpool Corp Factory Certified Parts. A Technician from Authorized Appliance Services, Inc; was commission to come out and install the new icemaker cover which the guy... only to discover that now I have a large gap on the Side and the Top of the icemaker...yes I can literally see behind and see over the icemaker cover. The technician said "maybe this refrigerator has the wrong door" I don't know what it has or what it does not have however I know this has been a horrible experience for me and my family. This is a brand new refrigerator model no. MSS26C6MFZ00 we should not be having all these problems. I don't want the refrigerator but Whirlpool Corporation and my home warranty company( First American is strong-arming me with the refrigerator... let me tell you how. I'm a New homeowner and after 3 months my refrigerator goes out and can not be fixed... so my home warranty company(First American) purchase this Maytag Refrigerator that's quote unquoted now under warranty and I am feeling stuck... in a perfect world First American and Whirlpool Corp would come to some kind of agreement to pick-up this refrigerator and send me a check for a comparable refrigerator then I would go and pick out one that I can see, tough, feel, inspect etc... before making this large purchase. When it was first used, it made a strange noise while making Ice but because we had never had a Whirlpool refrigerator before, we assumed it was normal. This is so frustrating. We had the fridge for about 1 year when the compressor needed replacement. I called and told them that we haven't even been using the fridge for 8 months and she told me she could cover the parts and that this labour would be 129.99$. So they had a tech come the next day just to look at the fridge and tell me it's the compressor well yeahhh I told the girl yesterday over the phone. So he goes to charge me 129.99 and to follow it that it's going to be an extra 400$ for the compressor. I was in shock. Nothing was done today but the charge of 130$. My husband was able to do the work tomorrow but when they told me it would be 130$ and the parts paid we did it that way instead. Now I called them and they didn't offer to do anything about it and i told them I won't be doing the compressor with them. Now I'm short 130$ (for something I had told them yesterday). Worst brand I will never buy from them again.

What is the use of buying the company product. The company charging higher amount through service and maintenance. It is too cost for common people who use your company product. This refrigerator has been a nightmare since day one. I am finally able to submit a complaint even tho I have owned this piece of junk a couple of year. I am submitting pictures so that everyone can see the junk whirlpool sells. Note the way the glass shelves were cut. Not straight. This has lead to multiple accidents losing food, energy, time. The design is poor in that food gets under the rollers for the shelves. You can't get it out unless you have a special tool to remove part of the refrigerator to clean under. But apparently if you don't get it ALL out the frig smells constantly rotten no matter how much you clean. I am so disgusted and disappointed that I laid down almost $1000.00 for this refrigerator and I am a poor widow. But I am sure whirlpool does not care. They will continue to beat down the little man with the big name and the garbage it pushes off to the little man as valuable. i purchased a stainless whirlpool fridge about 3 years ago. I am finding now that there seems to be rust spots everywhere, especially on the inside of the doors and on the outside bottom of the doors. anyone ever have this issue and if so, what can I use to take that rust off the doors.
I understand your frustration I am going through the same thing with them. When I ask how many times does it have to break down before it is replaced or refunded all they say is we do not refund or replace we just fix. I had my frig for a month and it broke down now it's been several times. I so regret buying it, curse the day I decided to buy this frig. They don't care that it is an inconvenience throwing away food, being without ice, time spent calling and trying to get someone to help you. They don't even bother to get someone to your home right away, they take their sweet time. The tech is never prepared to fix it he always says I will be back and then they reschedule for a later time because there is always an issue with ordering the parts that are needed. It seems that if the company is aware of the ongoing problems with the items they sell, they should have the parts on hand for quick repairs. So inconsiderate they are! The new home we live in had a Whirlpool WRF535SMBM fridge included. After 18 months the gasket around the door began to separate. The cost to replace the gasket is $160 for each side of the double doors. This is definitely a defect but Whirlpool insists it is out of warranty and will not replace them. Now I have to pay $320 (not including the cost to install them) for a fridge that is only worth $1800. Sad that I have to make a repair that is almost 20% of the value of the fridge after only 18 months.

we have been trying to contact customer service and the product exchange department about replacing our new refrigerator.
After not getting a call back about what Whirlpool would do about our non-repairable refrigerator Robles, we called them. We spent a total 2 hours and 40 minutes on hold and have not talked to anyone. We got one call back at a time we couldn't answer and provide the needed info. Returned the call early this morning and have been on hold 40 mins without talking to anyone. Whirlpool customer service in this case has been really frustrating. At least have a real person answer the phone and let us know where we are in the process. In the meantime, our groceries are soaking wet from the door seal issue on the refrigerator.

We bought the above refrigerator from home depot story road on May 18th 2018.
After 1 week there was a gasket leak which made ice in the freezer. The service man solved it.
After 2 weeks the top shelf of refrigerator section started to freeze. The service guy said its could be a sensor issue and he managed to change it aft 2 weeks. The very next day the cooling in the refrigerator section went sharply down and had to call service again. They said the sensor isnt working so have to replace.
In 4 weeks I have called 3 services for the same issue.
Till date the issue isnt resolved.
All my stuff has spoiled in the fridge. I have a 1 yr old whose all baby food has spoiled. I have to take a work off to get these services done. Being summer the food cant be kept outside and m scared this ll affect my baby s health.
Why is it expected of me to use this garbage unit after paying a full price for it.
I want a replacement for this unit else I ll have to take legal actions against this harassment.

Bought this whirlpool refrigerator via Costco, after quite a few unsuccessful repairs, I decided to replace/return.
Reached Whirlpool customer service, they emailed me a few models to choose from to replace it or return the old one.
6/19/2018 I received their email offer to exchange or refund.
6/27/2018: I emailed them that the models offered are much smaller than mine, and asked for a similar one.
6/27/2018: Angel emailed back saying my model was discontinued, they don't have the same size.
6/27/2018: I emailed back and told them I'll take the refund.
7/2/2018, 7/3/2018: emailed to follow up. All with no responses.
During the time, I also called them more than 5 times. 2 of the 5 times I was offered to call me back by an automated service. But never received the callback. Other times simply got disconnected after about half an hour waiting.
One time, I called their customer service, the service rep said she had to connect me with this Product Review Board. But there is no luck.
Twice I called them via Costco, Costco reps couldn't reach them before they have to drop the call.
Sent them another email on 7/11/2018, still waiting for the response.

Very aggravating experience with Whirlpool customer service. Needed a missing template that should of came with slim microwave oven. On the phone nearly a hour and 15 minutes before getting someone ( Kathleen ) that actually helped me. Went through four customer service reps giving me so much lines of BS with warranty and sending a service tech to assess the situation when all I wanted was a template that should of been with the unit to begin with. Unit Model WML55011HS-1. If this is what someone has to go through to get something that was missing from the unit I would hate to see what you have to do to get a certain part. I know a few contractors and thinking of telling them to beware of your product customer service. I do want to thank Kathleen again for doing a good job and not being inept as the others.

Called Customer Service who says the product is out of warranty and I must pay for service. LED lighting is technology that lasts 15-20 years. Bought a new top load whirlpool machine with this he logo sticker, and a small (but biggest I could find) agitator and looked like the old timiest automatic I could find. Wrong. Total junk! 80 minute electricity guzzling cycle. Clothes come out sopping wet. 3 out of 5 loads (2 of them tiny loads, lightweight stuff; the other (heaven forbid) contained a bath towel in it)...3 of them unbalanced, the machine started clunking loudly, and began to walk across the room! I couldn"t stop the machine! Let alone open the lid to rebalance! The last time this happened, the friggin 130 pound traveling machine pinned me up against the wall!
These are third world machines designed for deserts where people will kill each other for a gallon of water. I live right across the road from the 4th largest body of fresh water in the world! But this is all I can buy? It fills the tub about 1/3 at most. Wtf?
If you have an old machine keep it! If it has to be put up on a hoist like a 1954 ford, tough! Get it fixed. These are total 3rd world junk they are selling and most annoying, no alternative at any price.

UPDATE: GE has a top load washer WITH NO "HE" logo, a real agitator, apparently fills up with water, and even has a lid that stays unlocked until it goes into spin. Same price as that miserable Whirlpool. I just didn't look carefully enough. Machines like the GE are rare. Moral of the story: Look online before you decide and look especially at the "Comments." That's the only way you'll find out. BTW: Only buy appliances at Lowe's! Free delivery. 30 day return, money back, no questions asked, and they really do! Nobody will offer you that.
Interestingly, both Lowe's and GE are both Government subsidized companies. I guess there are perks besides just staying in business if the gov decides to subsidize you. That GE washer (unlike all the others I've looked at) does not conform to WHO "safety" restrictions. Best part is the lid lock is actually removeable with a Phillips screwdriver! Good old days!

I totally agree that I bought a whirlpool dryer in Hong Kong through Fortress. It doesn't dry the clothing. Half wet. The technical support team stops by 7 times, and no clue why it doesn't work as expected. Even more ridiculous, the last senior technician said that it is not normal because the bed sheet is too long. Give me a break, it is a standard sheet. What a shame. Whirlpool == crappy product. Don't patron it.
