**Left in the rain behind her car—and my 76-year-old mother had to get it inside herself.**
I bought my mother a chair from Walmart. She lives in Manning, South Carolina, and I live in Newberry. I expected her delivery to be handled with some basic care and common sense.
Instead, they left the chair in her driveway, BEHIND HER CAR, while it was raining. Not on the front porch. In the driveway.
My mother is 76 years old, mind you. She had to flip and maneuver this chair herself to get it into her house. There is absolutely no reason she should have been put in that position.
She called several times and was told it had been delivered. When she complained about how it was left, they brushed her off, were rude, and asked what she wanted them to do.
What did she want you to do? Help her. Treat her with some respect. Show a little concern that a 76-year-old woman was struggling to get a chair out of the rain because of where YOUR delivery was left.
I understand bringing furniture inside may depend on the delivery service. But could you not at least put it on the front porch? And regardless of the delivery policy, there is no excuse for being rude when someone calls for help.
I bought my mother a chair so she could sit comfortably. I did not buy her a wrestling match in the rain.
Walmart, marking something “delivered” does not mean it was delivered with care. How you treat a customer when something goes wrong matters—and you let my mother down.
