I went to Walgreens on 58th st and Roosevelt blvd in Largo, Fl. on 2/10/26. I had the most unprofessional and degrading experience form management there. I had picked up items in the pharmacy section and had to get drinks, ect. They use to have the small handle baskets around the store as I had more than I could carry and was looking for the baskets without having to put everything down and walk to the other front end of the store. I knocked on all 3 doors around me and rang the bell as there were no employees in the store for the 10 minutes I had $100. of items. The front cashier was the only store employee out. I saw a cart in the back in the middle of an aisle so I put my items on that and rolled it to the cashier at the front of the store. I asked to speak to the manager to find out why there were no available hand baskets in the store besides at the front door and how helpful that would be for customers and likely increase their purchases. First I was told there was no manager. I believe this was around 2pm. Then a woman came up and I explained how helpful the hand baskets would be even if they put them back in pharmacy and I felt it was a customer need as I saw others struggling with no basket or cart in site. The cashier told me people didn’t put the baskets back and made the store messy making the staff have to clean more so they did away with them. Then another woman came up who said she was the manager and said the same thing even though I expressed the customer need. They did not provide their names to me and no manager picture or name or store number was outside for me to contact which is unacceptable. That makes me assume they get many complaints and took the store info down. When I saw the 2 alleged managers blow me off in front of other customers I was ready to leave of course. To add to the nonsense and inappropriateness of the alleged management at this store, I was asked for my drivers license to purchase over the counter DayQuil (1 pack). I do not want to show my id unnecessarily and requested if this was a new protocol, they should put it behind plexy glass or please put up a sign which both the managers said no to. Come to find out, the cashier said they only had to card those under 50 years of age? I am 57. The cashier was pleasant and did her best and the pharmacy is excellent. I have been using this store over 25 years and will never go there again. Nor will anyone in my family. I will continue to use the pharmacy from the drive through only. I must also note that I never raised my voice or cursed anyone. I was respectful even thought the 2 alleged managers just stared at me and looked at each other like they had no intent to follow-up with the complaints and recommendations I offered.
Claimed loss: Loss of my family using that store and any chance I get to share my experience there will also result in ongoing loss for this store.
Desired outcome: -written apology for how the management talked to me in front of other customers -store number, manager picture and name, and a direct number to make a complaint be put on the glass entrance-additional customer service classes.
