Walgreens review: Pharmacy Walgreens in Soldotna

I understand that a pharmacist and their techs have stressful jobs and are typically pleasant especially the ones at the counter.

I had an interaction with a pharmacist on 9/19/2023 at 9 a.m. who was definitely having a bad day or just felt like humiliating someone while there were 7 people in line behind me listening to everything he said. After two back surgeries, my Dr. has prescribed Hydrocodone. I have not had any problems picking it up before. I do not run out early, shop for doctors so I can get more. I switched from my surgeon to a pain management doctor which is not shopping around for more drugs.

The pharmacist said he would not fill it even though it was due to be filled. He told me that I take too much, 7.5 mg, 3x per day is far from too much. He then proceeded to tell me to go to another pharmacy where they would probably fill it and told me again. He would not fill it. He never gave me a reason aside from his own personal opinion that I was taking too much. He talked to me like I was a drug addict and in front of a line of people.

He was most likely having a bad day and decided to show me who had the power and control over my prescription.

I am a successful businessman who manages chronic pain with many modalities, hydrocodone is one of them. I did not deserve to be demeaned and humiliated. I sure hope it was only a bad day and that he is not always like this.

This Walgreens like most of them are in desperate need of more staff and support for their stressful jobs.

I am not a complainer and usually don't take other people's behavior personally but this one stung. but I was blindsided by this interaction
