Size of prescription bottles
Recently I am getting my prescription refills in bottles that are ridiculously large for the contents, for example, one of my medications cannot be bigger than 3/16" in diameter. Yet a ninety-day supply which doesn't quite cover the bottom of the bottle is sent to me in a bottle that is approximately 3" tall. This phenomenon happens with nearly every prescription I have received lately. This causes a problem for me in that the bottles which used to fit nicely in my medicine cabinet, now completely overwhelm it. The most recent solution I have for this situation is to save the smaller - more appropriately sized bottles so that I can transfer my medicines to them. I was told by my local pharmacy technicians that refills are now being handled by a central processing center and that they have no control over the size of the bottles. I ca understand your efforts at cutting costs, but it seems to me that the larger bottles cost more than the smaller one and therefore defeats your efforts. Please do something about this issue as I am concerned that I will lose control of my meds.
Desired outcome: I would like more appropriately sized bottles for my medications.

Pharmacy is a joke - understaffed and understocked. And App is worthless.
I've been going to the same Walgreens for 20+ years. This year it has taken a nosedive. I've been on hold for 52 minutes now...finally got down to just 2 people in front of me, and just got a message that all pharmacists are taking a half hour lunch break now, so another 30 minutes of waiting JUST TO STAY IN THE QUEUE.
They blame everything on medication shortages (Ex. Adderall), which is a legit issue, but not the sole reason why they are understaffed to the point that hold times are over an hour. And there is no way to automate Adderall refills, even with their App, so I HAVE to talk to a pharmacist.
App is worthless. Pharmacists are overworked (and probably underpaid judging by the revolving door of people working there.) And the red tape is insane.
Pharmacy in Kuna Idaho
On 10/18/22 I called the pharmacy and talked to the pharmacists to call in a script for a patient. Again I talked to the pharmacists directly.
The patient came to the Walgreen Pharmacy in Kuna Idaho in the evening to pick up the script and they told her they did not have it.
The patient called our office unhappy that we did not get that script to Walgreens as the pharmacy staff told her it was not there.
On 10/19/22 I started calling Walgreens at 0904. I waited on hold for an hour and 20 minutes and finally hung up. I called back to Walgreens to speak to a manager. The manager was not in but the person told me there were people working in the pharmacy. I again called the pharmacy to give them another chance to answer my call. I wanted 10 more minutes but no one answered.
I called back and asked to speak to some one who could get the pharmacy to answer my call. The pharmacists Kyle answered the call and proceeded to tell me they got it on their machine. I told him they did not get it on the machine I talked to a pharmacists yesterday. Well he said we are just really busy. I then asked him to call the patient and let her know it was there error and not the doctors office. I did not even finish my sentence and he hung up on me. Not good customer care. I will escalate this complaint.
Desired outcome: I want Walgreens to call the patient and tell them that the error was on the pharmacy's part and not the providers office.
filling concerta generic
My son has been on this med for years! His new insurance will only fill generic now, only one generic company that we know of works right for him and unfortunately Walgreens is the only one that has it! The pharmacy is refusing to refill it until the day before his last pill AND we have to call them to have it filled. CVS and Hyvee have always given us at least 3 days before we run out of meds to get him a refill and they auto-filled it! She said it is Walgreens' policy. When asking how we are supposed to go on vacation etc. she tells us we can call our doctor and he can give permission for them to fill early. Contradicting herself, my doc doesn't have a problem with it, she literally said it is a Walgreens policy! It is very upsetting! If we call Saturday to fill, and they ran out of the specific generic that works for him, I have no time to get his script moved to someone who does! They have no problem with the horrible problems our son has when he doesn't get the right meds! Shame on you!
Desired outcome: Change your stupid policy! People need time to fill meds!
pharmacy
Walgreens Pharmacy, Rousby Hall Road, Lusby, MD has got to be one of the worst pharmacy in Maryland! I've had a problem every month for the last two years! You advise management and guess what nothing happens. Why should someone that needs medication need to make four trips just to get med's? Why would someone need to call multiple times for their Meds? How is it even possible that you can call the pharmacy and get employee that has no idea how to do their job! I've had enough of the headache and i will be having my Meds sent somewhere else!
Desired outcome: Terminate or retrain employee!
Pharmacist
The pharmacist at the Walgreens in Winter Haven Florida refuses to fill my prescription. It’s a controlled medication I’ve been taking for several years for chronic pain.
This particular pharmacist says my doctor is not in our county where I live and told me to find another doctor near by. I’ve been with my group of doctors for several years. They know my particular ailment and work with me to find up to dat solutions. I feel comfortable with this group of pain management specialists and trust them. I don’t feel I should be dictated to by a pharmacist on what doctor I chose to go to.
Desired outcome: I’d like to be able to have my prescription filled in a timely manner without illegal requests by a pharmacist.
Service
This is about your Brevard NC Walgreens store and sadly this is not the first letter I have written to you. 2 years ago, or more I changed pharmacies because of very bad service, but have found myself leaving the hospital with this the only pharmacy open and having to get a script there. I now find myself taking care of an older cousin who can't get out any more because of his health. Again, I'm having to go to Walgreen's for his medications and the service is now worse than ever, I just don't understand how you have any business there, I know I am not the only one complaining, with even the doctors here recommending different pharmacies. I call to get his refills and am on hold for over an hour then get cut off, and have to do the same thing all over again. The last 5 months I have called in his scripts. Then when I get there, they still don't have it ready and have to wait another hour or 2 to get it filled. I live 20 minutes from town, have an old car and with gas prices the way they are this is not good. I waited 35 minutes in line listening to old people not getting their scripts filled and badly disrespected and them talking about changing pharmacies. The people who work there all need to be fired. Why is it still like this? Has anyone from the main headquarters ever checked in on what's going on there? Or even tried to call them to check on the way things are being done there? If not, you should. I hate to but will be changing my cousin's pharmacy next month, just so I don't have to put up with my blood pressure going up again because of the Brevard NC store, it's just not worth it.
Please help the people here in Brevard, I feel so bad for all of them that use this store needing their medications and not getting them. If it was my store, I would just close it down to keep from getting all my stores a "BAD" reputation, or be there until I made sure the problems were fixed, it really is this bad...
Thanks for your help,
Kathleen McCall
Desired outcome: Help the people of my county
Walgreens Canton Rd. Ohio. - This is a revised comment. I forgot to put location.
I just had this happen to me in Akron location, Canton Rd. They put a note for a couple of days that said my prescription was being reviewed. It stayed this way with no call, so I called them, and they had no pharmacist for a week due to vacation and I spoke with the manager Tiffany, and she said that they do not have enough pharmacists and that the ones they are trying to hire have not been passing the tests. How is that our problem and should they just put a note in the file or let people know there is a problem so we can put our medications somewhere else. She told me she was tired of giving this spiel to people. She actually said that.
Well now we will skip too today. I called to get my prescriptions today and only one is ready and she told me that I am one day early on the other. I got my prescription a day late and that is not her call. If the date is within the required date, they should have to fill it so we do not have to make 10 trips and not knowing whether they will have a pharmacist on duty tomorrow I wanted it done today. They are out of the third prescription.
I stated that this is going to cause their customers to go elsewhere for our prescriptions and she said, and I quote "that is fine, let them. I asked if that is what she meant and that did she realize what she said and she said yes.
This is the second time that they have done this to me. I moved all my prescriptions that I could to express scripts due to this but kept the ones that I have to take daily there because you have to request them a few weeks in advance to get them. They do mail them out on time but the couple I left with them you can only call in within days of needing them or they look at you like you have 3 heads.
I told her I would be moving my prescriptions to another pharmacy, and she told me to go ahead and do that. I have been more than kind and patient with Walgreens with the first episode and this one I was really irritated at the lack of interest in my issue. They do not care people. Take your medications to a pharmacy that is capable and gives you a thought. I am absolutely appalled at the pharmacist behavior and the manager. This is really crazy that they would treat their customers in this manner without a thought. Wow. Blown away. I cannot get in touch with anyone in power to change this or address this issue. This is the second time this has happened, and they really could care less? I have been going there for years and customers do not matter to them, and I cannot see a future with this company anyway.

Timely refills of medications
As both a medical prescriber and a patient, I find that Walgreens pharmacies have significant challenges filling controlled medications such as stimulants, analgesics, neuroleptics or antipsychotic medications in a timely manner. While this has been an inconvenience for me, it has had a significant impact on my patients, some of whom have experienced withdrawal effects or relapse as a result. Due to privacy considerations, I cannot provide details on my patients, but can state that I personally have waited over two weeks for a commonly prescribed medication without an indication of when this would be refilled. When I asked if the prescription could be transferred to another location or if I might be able to pick up a partial supply, I was told that my doctor would need to write a new prescription. I have seen this in at least three states where I have provided care over the past year, so I assume it is probably a nationwide problem.
In reviewing the DEA's 2022 Pharmacist's guide (see https://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/GDP/(DEA-DC-046R1)(EO-DEA154R1)_Pharmacist's_Manual_DEA.pdf), it seems that pharmacists can proactively offer partial supplies or (if this is restricted by state law) the pharmacy can proactively contact the prescriber to get a change of prescription. I have not consistently been contacted to change prescriptions for my patients, instead, both I and my patients have had to work out solutions on our own. I have even spent time contacting different Walgreens pharmacy branches to personally check their supplies because I wanted to prevent adverse health outcomes associated with sudden cessation of the medication. While I understand that supply shortages are sometimes unavoidable, Walgreens Corporation needs to do a better job of finding solutions and not putting the burden on sick patients, or leaving local pharmacists to explain poor policies.
Desired outcome: Policy change at corporate level to improve local drug chain supply issues nationwide and proactively assist with solutions.
Pharmacist
I just went right now to walgreens/ duane reade location at 110 newark ave jersey city and pharmacist was about to give me my meds and then just asks me to wait for 2 mins without telling me the reason. Then she started tending to other people and completely forgot about me and when i asked her how long do I have to wait, she was blank faced. Pretty hopeless and unprofessional woman! I found her to be racist and uapologetic. Sunday 1:20 PM.
The nice brand candies.
The nice brand cinnamon candies that you carried in a one-pound bag, are the only thing I have ever found that helped my throat. I have asthma, and a touch of COPD. You no longer carry these candies. You have a different cinnamon candy in a 7-ounce bag. They are not a mild cinnamon; they are quite harsh. Please advise where I can purchase the old style
Desired outcome: To purchase the same candies, you had in the past.

I need a QR code to print my Covid 19 vaccination record but get an error message. Red banner at top says We're sorry. We're not able to generate the QR code due to missing vaccination date(s). Chat with us now for assistance.
The chat option is a joke. They can not help. Going to the pharmacy, still to no avail to remedy this problem. They told me to wait 24 hours, it has been weeks.
I have spoken and repeated the problem I am having to at least a dozen different people who man your phone lines and they just keep transferring me to different departments. The pharmacy where I got all the vaccines tell me every date is in the system. I have cleared my cache, history, logged in and out, tried 4 different browsers (all with the same results and error message).
Desired outcome: Please repair your website at:https://www.walgreens.com/hcimmhealthrecordui/vaccination/covid/19/digital-dose-card?source=vaccineHistoryIt does NOT work!
pharmacy
My doctor’s office called in a prescription for a new medication to Walgreen’s and I went and picked up a bottle of the pills. Once I got home, I saw that the bottle said it was for 1x daily, but my doctor and I had discussed that I would be taking this medication twice a day. So I called my doctors’s office to get them to send in a corrected prescription for taking it twice a day. My doc’s office agreed it was a mistake and called in the NEW prescription for 2x daily to Walgreen’s that same day. several weeks later, my pills were almost gone, so I went onto the Walgreens app to have it refilled. However, the app said that I would be refilling it earlier, and the insurance would not cover it. So… I called Walgreens and spoke to someone there in the pharmacy department, who told me that they did have the new prescription on file for the new dosage of twice a day and would take care of it. I told them that it needs to happen soon because I was almost out of pills and I would need to have it by that same evening or I would not have my evening dosage. I know I should have called before, but typically, I always have one backup of medication in my cabinet, so when I got low, I assumed that there was still another bottle in the cabinet. Also, this back up is usually there, because Walgreens, via their app I use and texting will alert me when another Nother refill is due and I automatically go and refill it right away when that happens. So it’s a system that should work. However, it did not in this case. I was almost out of meds that were helping to control severe stomach pain. I waited and waited. Finally, after seeing that the refill was not even being processed yet, so it showed that it was received, I called Walgreens again the following day. In addition to a horrible phone system that makes it very challenging and time-consuming to actually reach a pharmacist or anybody in the pharmacy department, when I did reach someone in the pharmacy department, and explained what had happened and what the continued issue is, that I still needed my new medication for pain, I received no acknowledgment that anyone had done anything wrong, nor an apology. And… I was hung up on. so I called them back and spoke to someone else in the pharmacy department and they finally told me that they would call my insurance and that the new dosage had never been called in by Walgreens so therefore the medication was not refilled on schedule. A little while later, I received a phone call back from Walgreens pharmacist, the same person I have been speaking to on the last call, and this person told me that insurance had told them that they could not override the old prescription for the new twice a day dosage without me, calling them myself. that wasn’t his fault. Of course, I know that. But it was still frustrating. So I called my insurance company and went through with them as well, and then called Walgreens back again. I was told that the medication would be available soon and that it was now being processed. I still need to go and pick up the medication, but I am waiting a little longer to ensure that it is actually there when I get there. I have literally been told it is available and driven over there only to find out that the medication is not available yet. And I know that things happen. People are busy, and I know that the labor force has been difficult to keep on staff over the past year or two due to the pandemic. But this is basic customer service that is not being taught or trained when people are hired. There should be acknowledgment of mistakes, and there should be apologies, and there should be empathy, and there should be responsiveness. None of these things happened. And your phone system is terrible. So please, please make some adjustments across the board to help people when they need their medication‘s rather than hurt them and drag it out for days. This was not a fun experience for me. And it is not the first time. In fact, it is probably the eighth or ninth time that Walgreens has messed up my prescription for no apparent reason. Please work on your training methods and please work on your phone system so that a person can call and reach the pharmacist without having to jump through a bunch of hoops, or get disconnected. I am not going to identify myself because I am afraid that I will be treated poorly when I go to this pharmacy again. And I’m not going to identify the people that I spoke to at Walgreens or at the insurance company because I don’t believe that they should be personally held responsible for poor training practices. Please pass this along to the management. These are the people that need to make the changes.
Desired outcome: for you to listen to my complaint, and pass it along to management, so that they make changes in their training as well as in their phone system. Basic courtesy is not being used.

10/12/2022 store Rinconada Las Cruces NM 88012
I was refused my flu shot because you said it was fine to take covid and shingles vaccination together. And i had bad reaction. Never in 20+ years have I had a reaction to anything! Now you refuse to give me any vacs at all. You have no idea how much money i use to spend at your store. I tried to explain to worker at pharmacy but they refused to listen, You help to make this world unbearable. There was reasons a cut and dry policy is horrible. When making the appointment you never mentioned anything waste of my time, gas and energy! Other option are limited unless I move to another pharmacy. The lady was rude this is not fair.
Desired outcome: GIVE me my vacs if i ever come in again! How do you fix it? Very Disappointed.
Service
I called in a prescription friday. It was filled on saturday and I picked up monday. I even asked for a rush on this because my husband didnt tell me he was out of the medicine. When I picked up yesterday and got home it was not the prescription that I called in. I called and was hold for 2 hours and couldnt wait no longer. I have even called again today and so far been on hold 49 minutes. This is the walgreen in dundalk maryland on holabird ave
If my company didnt have a contract with walgreens, I would definately move all of my prescriptions. I was very sad when I had to go there because I had heard alot of negative vibes from that location... Ive given them a chance and it was the wrong one.
Ive now called my drs office in hopes they can get this called in today and be correct.

Vaccinations, customer service
I tried to get my flu vaccination at the Walgreens in Port Jervis, NY, #19500. I have Medicare Part B, and was they didn't accept it and it would be $100 if I wanted it. I left, and have gone through their online chat to no avail, as they refer me back to the store which is where the problem is. Emails with Customer Relations have gone nowhere, as they just say someone will get back to me, which never happens. According the the CDC vaccine website, this store, provides Medicare recipients flu shots at no cost. I cannot get an answer at any level at Walgreens about this. This should not be difficult, and I can't believe no one at Walgreens can answer this.
Desired outcome: Be able to get an answer on this, and better yet, my flu shot.
Behavior of walgreens pharmacist
I am a recovering addict of pain pills. I became addicted to them after an issue with back pain and when the refills ran out I began purchasing them illegally. I got tired of hiding from everyone what was happening and got help from an onlne program using suboxone. No one knows that I am taking this medication and I prefer to keep it that way. Not even my husband knows. I filled my prescription at the walgreens down the road from my house. After my session with my online provider, she sent in my refill. When I called to find out when my prescription would be ready because I pick it up when I am not with my husband, the pharmacist told me I still had 3 days before I she could fill it. I would not have any for today the 10th of October. She told me to call back on Sunday, yesterday. I didn't call back because I was with my husband and I explained that he doesn't know I am taking this medication. I asked my provider to call, and she did. The pharmacist told her she wouldn't fill it until yesterday. Well today, I called and I was told that the "pharmacist is still reviewing it and that it would be a few hours". I was supposed to take this medication at 9am this morning. I find it absurd that a pharmacist can hold a medication that has been legally prescribed and that I need. How unprofessional! How unethical and just downright wrong! This pharmacist is located at 16900 E Colonial DrOrlandoFL32820. I would like this addressed and I will be looking into how I can complain against the medical board as well.
Desired outcome: I want this addressed.
