Walgreens review: Pharmacy

I've never been able to successfully fill a prescription at the Walgreens near me in Los Angeles.

Nearly 3 weeks ago I dropped off my prescription and later received a phone call it was ready. Unfortunately, it actually wasn't ready at all and was actually being delayed. Wasted trip. I never received any follow-up calls and noticed last night via my phone app that the medication was in. When I arrived to pick it up, it still was not available (even though it says it's "ready for pick-up" on my Walgreens app). To add insult to injury the pharmacist literally lied to me and to my friend who witnessed everything and was well aware of my medication ordeal with Walgreens. He had no name ID on, refused to give his name, lied and said I never gave them any sort of prescription and basically insinuated that it was my first time there. Even as I post this complaint, my Walgreens app claims my medication is "ready for pick-up." Yes even after all this time, my account still shows my medication being there when in fact it is not there at all.

Ironically, the last time I tried to fill an important med here was in 2012 and I was unsuccessful. Back then they told me they must have "lost/erased my profile" (?) so I got my prescription filled somewhere else. They have since gotten worse.

Sadly, the callous and inept staff are well aware that most of their customers in this area are elderly and not very adept online so this rampant incompetence and unprofessionalism often goes unreported. In addition to online complaints as well as reporting this to the manager, I've also filed complaints with Medicare and the California State Board of Pharmacy. I shudder to think of the damage this Walgreens has done and continues to do to the community.

I wouldn't purchase a bottle of water from this place, let alone get medication or vaccine injections.
