On June 28, 2025, upon our arrival in the Dominican Republic, we were approached by a representative of UVC — though we did not realize their affiliation until later. While at the airport, we inquired about excursion options and were presented with what appeared to be affordable rates. When we went to pick up our excursion vouchers, we were informed that we would need to attend a sales presentation.
During this presentation, which lasted several hours and during which we were offered alcoholic beverages, we were persuaded to sign up for a vacation package. We were told that an all-inclusive 7-day stay would cost just $860 and that this included all promotional offers.
However, upon returning from vacation, I attempted to book a trip through the program and was informed that there were no all-inclusive packages available for $860 as initially promised. Furthermore, we were told we would need to pay an annual fee and additional costs for an RCI package — details that were not disclosed during the initial presentation.
Due to the July 4th holiday, we called to cancel the agreement on the next business day following our return. Despite multiple calls and messages, we received no response. We also sent a formal email on Monday, July 7, 2025, attempting to resolve this matter directly with the merchant, but to date, we have received no reply.
Given the misleading sales tactics and the lack of communication from UVC, I respectfully request that this charge be reversed.
Sincerely,
Claimed loss: 2756.30 USD
Desired outcome: FULL REFUND
