I am complaining about Card activation
I went to Truworths (Kerk Street JHB)to activate my card since I closed it earlier this year.
They called the call Centre and told me to use my ID if I want to make purchases, I will receive the card later. I went to Truworths again( Kerk Street) to check how much am I qualifying for.They took my ID and check on their system, they told me I can buy for R10.000 and they gave me the slips for discounts. I did not buy anything that day I said I will come when I need something as long as my account is active.
on the 10 December 2021 I received a notification on my cell phone that said thanks for the resent transaction on your account.On Monday( 13th Dec) I saw the statement when I was checking my emails, they bought clothes from different malls for R9000. and something. I did not made any purchase from Truworths. I called them and told them what happened and they said I must fill in the dispute form and send it with my Id copy they will do an investigation on their side. I suspect people from Truworths Kerk street JHB, I went there to activate my account

Bad service
This morning I tried to log into the online account and purchase a shoe for my daughter, yet again I was inconvenienced by Truworths claiming that my account is in arrears and I was not able to make the purchase because according to them the account is in arrears after the payment was made on the 22 November 2021. I sent the POP of payment but it is the second time now I am being embarrassed and not being able to make a purchase for my daughter which I find utterly appalling

Saturday the 11th December I tried purchasing a gift for my daughters birthday and I was advised that my account is in arrears which is not true because I explained to the guy that I made a payment on the 22nd November and I even logged into my banking app to prove this. They made a call to head office and I was advised to send the POP so that they can update the payment on there side as well as my account. I could not make the purchase for my daughter which is utterly unacceptable. I have been paying via EFT for years using the same details and never have I had such an experience.

There are always just 2 tellers working no matter how busy the store is... Month end, Sassa...
Its during the week on a Thursday halfpas 1 the que is extremely long and only 2 tellers working... The store has recently been upgraded, it's much bigger but the service remains poor, I don't think packing out stock is more important than customers queing..
Desired outcome: Make exceptions when you see the que is long... I dnt think packing out stock at that moment is more important than customers queing...
Inwear sneakers
Good morning truworths team
I have bought a pair of pink and white Inwear sneakers at Kwaggafontein mall around April 2021 with the amount of R575. 00 hoping that is the best quality in the shop. In September 2021 I have realized that the sneakers are torn under the foot.
My problem is that I have lost the slip to return to the store. How can I be assisted in this regard.

I had a a count from you a few years ago and has paid it very mount and wasn't being on account then I just stop it because I could of eford it anay longer but I made sure that the account was paid up, I was comited to make sure that I was doing my bit .now when I aply you guys don't whant to help PLC look at my past on your sistem PLC and you will see I was a good client and still are .can you place review my status .

I shoped at loads of living last week friday. I requested cashmere room spary amonst other items and made a purchase of close to r2000. I have spent over r15 000 in this store over the past month alone. I could not find the spray in my big bags of shopping when I got home. I went to the store on sunday and they said they will call the area manager as they cannot help me. I went yesterday, no one was willing to assist. Considering how much I spend, I was very angry at this poor service at loads of living in bedford centre. I don't have the stupid spray but I have paid for it. Even the area manager wasn't willing to assist considering what a good customer I am this is disgusting. I asked to close my account, and instead of trying to salvage me, they said oh no "you have an outstanding balance so we can't allow you to close". This is illegal in itself. Let along they could reimburse my account provide a silly spray to me. They made me feel like I would steal a spray. Who hell knows where they have it. But this store is obviously badly run. I will not there again. They are willing to throw away thousands ofrands rather than assisting me.
I would like to see the footage of that day and I would like either the spray / reimburse my account cancel the damn thing. I have been a customer for 20 years. This is pathetic!

Online service
Since november truworths suddenly has a new site. This new site doesn't allow the customers to order items online without create online profile popping up the whole time. While the customer already logged in successfully the customers name is still displayed as NA and when you try to check your items out the create online profile keeps popping up. It is very frustrating and disappointing. The steps that truworths online explains does not even help at all!
Desired outcome: Make the online shopping as easy as it was before this new site truworths has now

I did a laybye at one of your stores it turns out I forgot the expiry date of my laybye which was due on the 8th of November 2021 instead the laybye was just canceled without even informing me or reminding on the 10th when I went there I was told my laybye has expired so it has been canceled I'm so disappointed with the service I got atleast they could've reminded I had the money I was just not aware that it was due on that date now I couldn't find the shoes no handbag that I wanted I'm so hurt.

Quality of the Shoes
I bought these shoes at Truworths on 09/06/2021 and my Wife only wears them now and then. But now 09/11/2021 the shoe looks 3 years old, the only problem is the name on the shoe the letters are coming out and the part where they sowed it it's coming apart. The rest of the shoe still looks good but it's the sewing that's not good quality. [protected] Pink and White Runner brand name is (Hey Betty) it was R650. Can truworths please do something about the quality of the shoes they bring in the Pretoria CBD stores.. Thank you.

Double deduction still not refunded
I have been fighting what seems like a losing battle with Truworths for almost a year now.
In December 2020 I made a purchase at the Truworths store in Gateway mall, Umhlanga.
I swiped my card in store and later found that my account was actually double debited by Truworths.
When I contacted Truworths, I was told to go back to the store and speak to someone there. I was then told to send an email to somebody in the store, attaching my bank statement to show the double deduction.
I did all of that but never received a response on my email.
When I followed up, I was told to speak to my bank (ABSA) about the issue. I then contacted ABSA and they told me to go back to Truworths as it was not an ABSA issue.
When I came back to Truworths, I was told that it was an issue with Standard Bank. Truworths does their banking with Standard Bank.
Truworths sent me a Standard Bank letter which stated that Standard Bank had a problem with its facility and some people were double debited.
The letter also stated that Standard bank would be refunding all the affected people within a few days.
This never happened. Thereafter, I contacted Truworths again to sort out the matter but they never did.
Afterwards, due to personal circumstances, I was unable to follow up on this matter until this month.
When I got back in contact with Truworths, I find that they are giving me the same run around again.
They are refusing to do their job. Instead they are insisting that its not their issue and I must sort it out myself.
I've already wasted all of my airtime trying to deal with Standard Bank, which is a terrible bank. For me to explain the issue to Standard Bank takes approximately 3 hours before they can even understand the issue. By which time my airtime runs out, and then I don't hear from Standard Bank.
I am sick and tired of Truworths evasive action. laziness and incompetence.
I should not even be contacting Standard Bank in the first place. This is Truworths issue.
I just made a simple purchase in store and got robbed and today Truworths is smiling with my money.
Truworhts is a despicable company which needs to be brought to book.

Evening dress
I bought a dress in Tygervalley Truworths store for the wedding. The dress had glitters on and they are all over. In my car, in the kitchen everywhere. The worse part is that my baby is allergy in these. On the wedding day I had to take it off because everyone who comes close to me would get glitters. I was so embarrassed because I could see some people they don't like it and the worse part is my baby's allergy.
I don't expect a store like truworths would sell something like this. I should have went to the Chinese shop and get something cheaper but because I wanted something that would last me for upcoming occasions.
The worse part is that the manager in Vangate mall did not want to refund me. She had a bad attitude. She said she doesn't know what she is going to say when she writes the reason for refund.
I'm so dissapointed with truworths. I ended up leaving them dress at their store because I can't take it home with me it makes my baby sick.

I spoke to a truworths debt agent between the 1st and 24th October 2021 about my outstanding debt of R1615.12 which I needed to pay I specifically told the advisor that I will make a full payment on the 27 October 2021 and she promised that there wont be a credit mark if i make payment on the day.I made full payment of R1615.12 on the 27 October 2021 at gugulethu truworths. But theres a credit mark which is stated October 2021 of a missed payment but I already made the full payment.
My resolution is that I want the October missed payment credit mark to be removed please I am not happy about this and im even thinking of closing down the account because of this.Not happy at all.

Truworths credit facility
I opened up a truworths account in May 25 2019 with an account limit of R500, I have had this account for the past two years with no increase in the credit limit at all. I have phoned their offices over several times with no success. I decided to close account with R650 credit available but they are saying that I still owe them money. Please someone explain if I have a credit limit of R500 the item I need to purchase is R1000, I transfer funds of another R500 to make amount R1000 then purchase item. I then continue paying until I bring my credit limit back to R500 and they say I still owe them. Then they say that's not how the account works. I have payed my account for the past two and have kept it over and above the actual account limit so how do I still owe the company if it is the positive.
Desired outcome: The account to be closed because the account is not working for me.
Fraudulent Transactions
Last month a had a query where I received bad service at Alex mall, now within a month already there's fraudulent transactions done on my account. I received an sms thanking me for the transactions done on the 3rd November 2021 but I didn't purchase anything. haven't lost my ID or licence and my card haven't received it yet. Clearly this is not coincidence. Please help

I would like to lay a complaint with staff and the manager of Parow Centre Truworths.
I returned an item on the 1st November 2021 that I bought with my credit card. I was asked if I would like cash or the amount back on my credit card. I specifically stated that I would like the amount back on my credit card. The cashier did not listen to my request and processed the refund as cash. When I requested that the manager assist, she just apologized and said there's nothing she can do about it. An apology is not going to solve my problem.
This is very disappointing as not only was the service appalling and very slow, but the manager did not help my situation at all.
I hope this information will be relayed to this store and that this kind of service will be corrected.

I open the account online, & become successful, I went to Evaton Mall branch to activate & they said they'l send my card.
They gave me credit of R2 000, I started to purchase, then I pay my first instalment through Capitec bank app, second payment at branch. Truworths blocked account, saying I have to send them three months bank statement, I went the Evaton Mall branch, I gave them the three months bank statement as requested.
But without success, even now is blocked and I paid there is credit that I want to buy.

Truworths Promenade Mall - A sale item with a 50% mark down retracted while wanting to purchase it
Good Day
I am seriously disappointed at the service of Truworths Promenade Mall in Mitchells Plain. A dress to the value of R699 had a 50% mark down tag stapled to the price tag and the 699 was crossed out on 50% tag. The item scanned full price and I spoke to the person in charge (28/10/2021) today and I was told the item cannot be sold to me at the discounted rate even though it was clearly marked with a 50% sale tag. They contacted the Area Manager and he also retracted the sale item and said he cannot sell it to me at the marked down price.
It is pathetic customer service as I do not find anything in your policy stating an item clearly marked as a sale item ( whether it was tagged incorrectly or not, is not the customers fault).
The consumer protection act states the the price you see is the price you pay for and yet me as the customer was denied the price I saw clearly stapled to the tag. Absolutely Ridiculous!
