Home Depot - Employment

I'm a retired Deputy Sheriff and 10 year USAF combat Vet. Took a Department Supervisor position at Twin Falls Home Depot. Was great working there with the management team working when I was hired. Was recognized as a high potential for promotion to salaried management. I was sent to training, made a key carrier/MOD within 6 months. All was progressing good.

Then the Store Manager was transferred, one ASM quit, and another promoted to Store Manager in another state. Corporate chose a Mormon SM who hired another Mormon ASM. How do I know this, was told about Mormon Missions during Monday Same Page meetings.

Our Store ACI score went from bad to worse with the new SM. All blame was placed on the older and experienced Department Supervisors who were just following orders from the SM, one of the old ASM's who left admitted that unreasonable expectations were being placed on the DS's.

Prior to the new Mormon taking command of the store I was getting great evals, platinum Homer award, being developed to promote. That all came to a screeching halt with the new SM. I addressed this during a DS town hall with the DM and DHRM, that alleged private conversation that involved another MOD in the same position was promptly reported to the SM who then brought in another Mormon SM to conduct a week long interrogation on several people.

Then came COVID, as the masks were being instituted I found myself being written up three times in three weeks. Once for not coming in during vacation to make sure my associates were doing what they were told, Once for leaving 5 minutes early while cutting OT, apparently my lumber associate left for lunch and didn't tell me or pass off her first phone, and once for a MOD checklist item involving HHM that was initially not done correctly by an ASM. I turned in my resignation and took my $15-20k per year spend elsewhere. Within the 10 days after I left three other DS's left and were replaced by young 20 somethings with no experience.

Got a much better job paying much more the day after I left, many former THD associates there who love leaving there. The corporation does not practice what it preaches with the value wheel and inverted pyramid. Really loved the Mormon ASM having snitches working for him to hunt down DS's he did not want there.
