Very poor quality workmanship, poor communication from team with our family. Multiple issues through the window install. Team did not clean up after themselves.

Alstar did a remodel of all our old windows in our home. Everyone from the company we worked with was professional and polite. They were respectful while working in our home, which we greatly appreciated. They are the best home improvement company we have worked with so far. High quality workmanship, good attention to detail, easy to work with. A well-run and trustworthy company; highly recommended.

Absolutely the worst company I've ever worked with in my life. Tyron “the owner" was hired almost a year ago for a deck rebuild. The deck was torn down in June and here we sit in May with a yard full of trash and debris. He now ignores my phone calls and continues other jobs. There were over 3 separate crews hired and none of the work any of them did passed code and the inspector was in shock. Beware of this company, they will rip you off and leave you high and dry.

Thank you Alstar! My wife and I just had our kitchen and bathroom remodeled through Alstar and it turned out amazing. It feels like a new home and their workers not only did a phenomenal job, they were respectful and courteous throughout the entire process. We loved their professionalism as well as the finished product, I cant wait until we can host the next family holiday in our lovely new home. The basement remodeling project has been so amazing from start to finish! The project manager (Shane) was an excellent communicator and very quick to respond to any of my concerns. They created a great design that fit both my needs and desires. Our project was started on time and completed 2 days earlier than projected. The workmanship was excellent and the project manager was there consistently to facilitate the constant progression. The total project included a theater, lounge, game room, billiard's room, kitchenette, and bathroom. They exceeded my expectations through their personal service, communication, and quality construction. My man cave will be the envy of all my friends

I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant to work with Alstar after reading a couple of negative reviews. My hesitation was quickly resolved after talking to Shane. Obviously, the bad reviews are isolated incidents and Alstar has worked to remedy any hiccups in their process. I have had two projects (interior and exterior) completed by Alstar and I highly recommend this company. The experience I had with Alstar was incredible from start to finish. Communication (written and verbal) with the team was strong during both projects. I was always aware of their progress. The quality of work was excellent and the team was highly efficient. This is an honest, hard working crew of individuals. Both of my projects were completed in a timely manner and they paid attention to all of the fine details.

I just wanted to leave a positive review for Alstar Home Improvements. I had a few companies come out and give me quotes but they were the best of them all. All the quotes were pretty similar in price but they were the most upfront about the timeline, what was realistic, permit process, etc. What I had kind of figured was my grand plans to knock out walls and redo the kitchen with my budget just wasn't possible. Champagne dreams on a cheap beer budget lol. He was honest and upfront and after knowing I probably wasn't going to be working with him, he still took a few minutes and gave me some advice on what he'd do for now. Most contractors quickly left when they realized they weren't getting the job but the few extra minutes he spent with me were enough to hire them when I did save up enough. I had my original estimate in March and the work was completed on June 7th. I am very satisfied with everything!

Refreshing. The quality craftsmanship here was never a question, but the down to earth service was what took me by surprise. Upon having the quote for our new flooring done, it was great to not feel under the heat of any pushy or manipulative sales talk; rather having an honest and open conversation about what it will really take to get the work done. We had this same experience with the labor team as well which was great. We have an old 1922 home in St. Paul, and when doing work on these homes there is bound to be problems. The two gentleman that began the project were direct and personable with us and helped us understand the process. Perhaps the best part of the experience, however, was that when problems inevitably arose they took responsibility and handled things. With many larger companies of this kind, I am so used to the “oops there was a mistake and now it will cost more to fix it" type of response, a response that never came with Alstar. When there were communication issues in planning, they acknowledged and cleared things up. When some plumbing work resulted in a decent sized water leak, they handled it professionally, fixed it up, and went so far as to take the extra time to clean things up nicely. It quickly became easy to trust the Alstar team because they were not willing to compromise on quality despite the challenges that rose. The finishing touch here was the marketing manager taking the time to come visit us after the work was done to evaluate quality and get feedback. As mentioned we had some communication issues and a plumbing error, however, those things being immediately addressed as well as the marking manager being open to feedback about these things was again refreshing. If you are looking for a project to go perfectly as planned, don't be home owner - there will always be problems. But if you are looking for a team that will be with you through those problems and not leave you holding the bag, Alstar is a good start. -Michael F

I am taking away 3 stars for their customer service and project planning. Their contractors did a greate job with our kitchen remodel. The project timeline was estimated at 4-6 weeks but took 8 weeks to finish. The salesman/project manger and their contractors were not on the same page. The first day of the demo, the contractors arrived and had to ask me what needed to be done. I had to go over everything in the quote that we agreeded upon. This would have been helpful if the quote was itemized for all parites. The cabinets arrived but some were missing and we had some duplicates so we had to wait for more cabinets. We initially went with laminate countertop, this was an issue since the homedepot guys were not going to come out until mid to late July to take measurements so I ended upgraded to quartez to get the project moving along on time. My biggest issue with them I found out a week after the project was compled that the pipe to the sinking was leaking and dripping down to the basement. The carpet was wet in the basement and I ended up ripping up the wall to trace where the water was coming from and found it dripping on the pipe. At this time we had already had the water running for a month and this dripping/leaking issue had be occuring for a month already. They sent their contractors to come back and look at the pipes and said they don't believe it was their issue and sad it could of been because of the old pipes. The pipe only leaks when the water to the sink. They replace the pipe and replace the dry wall. The only issue is they never finish patching up the dry wall. I called the contractors and they said they would come back to finish the job after their current project and a month went by. I called the sales man (Todd) and he said he will get them over the week afterwards. Another month went by, so I decided to call their office and the person I talk with on the phone said they would get this taken care of and have someone come out to finish patching up the wall from the water leak. Another month went by so I have decided to finish patching up the wall myself and painting it myself before the end of the year. I have waited 3 months for 3 different contacts to reach out to me to finish a repair. It seems like once they received their full payment for the job, they don't follow up on any issues that arrive afterwards. I've patentially waited over 3 months to hear back from 3 individuals from thier company so they are losing the 3 stars as I have lost 3 months from them. Once they have been paid in full, it doesn't seem like they want to fix any issues that occur afterwards.

I HAD 17 WINDOWS INSTALLED ON MY HOME. AL STAR'S EXPERTISE AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL WERE WELL ABOVE AVERAGE AND EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. I HAVE A 1970's TRI-LEVEL HOME WHICH HAD THE ORIGINAL WINDOWS. MY HOME LOOKS TOTALLY AMAZING WITH THE NEW WINDOWS WHICH WERE INSTALLED. THE CREW WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EXTREMELY RESPECTABLE WHEN WORKING IN THE HOME. I WOULD DEFINETLY DO BUSINESS AGAIN WITH AL STAR HOME IMPROVEMENTS. SEEING HOW THEY WILL BE DOING MY SIDING IN THE SPRING. MICHAEL D
