Telus owed me $310 as part of their trade-in program and issued payment to me in the form of a prepaid Mastercard. I requested a credit on my Telus account but it was Telus who chose to instead send me a virtual prepaid Mastercard. I was not aware that this card had an expiry date as "cash" should never expire. The customer service line at Mastercard takes you through a series of automated questions and then at the end disconnects the call. This has happened a dozen times. It is impossible to speak to anyone at this business and it is starting to feel like a scam.
Claimed loss: 310
Desired outcome: reinstate the balance to a new prepaid card. I did not expect "cash" to magically disappear after a period of time.
