MultiChoice Africa / DSTV cancellation of dstv and still being deducted

Good Day
I phoned multichoice to find out how to cancel subscription June 2019. I was told to phone 5 working days before month end. After more than and hour I cancelled it on the 19th July 2019. The cancellation fee was in my account they never deducted it. I did a change of ownership in August 2019 on my Explorer. The new owner also asked if I have any outstanding fees they told her no. I was contacted by Blake and [censored] Attorneys on the 13 Sept 2019 about outstanding money. I told the lady that phoned me, that Multichoice never deducted the cancellation fee from my account. So I did made the payment and sent it to Blake and [censored] and they told me everything was in order. 1 October 2019, 9 Dec 2019, 2 Jan 2020 Multichoice deducted money for the debit order. I have to pay the bank fees because I do not have the money in account. I am living in Australia since 3 October 2019. So how do I stop Multichoice from debiting my account!

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV subscription / payments

I did a payment for my monthly subscription and now dstv says the didn't receive the proof of such, so now i am sitting without service/subscription and they keep telling me to send the payments to proofofpayments@dstv.com
still while on the phone they don't receive it and i don't get any reply mail with my reference number even though ive send 10 emails to this account i asked the lady for an alternative email and the reply was we don't have one so how does this work? I want a refund of my funds and i want to cancel my subscription if this is the type of service that their customers who carry them must get.
Thank you but no thank you.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV accredited installer punched wall & mounted dstv cables below ceiling cornice

Accredited installer punched wall and mounted cables below cornice of a new cealing without concert from me the client. The excuse was he doesn't want to get dirty placing cables thru a newly installed cealing that has pigeons. This was extra view installation and he pulled originally installed cables from the cealing to mount them across the house passage and punched two walls for the extra view installation.
Asked why he didn't use the cealing he said it's the professional standard of DSTV installation and I the customer must buy cable covers to cover the cables he mounted. This cealing is new and was redone end of December 2019. This I believe is unprofessional and me as client did not give approval for damaging my walls. Client is not responsive to calls or requests for fixing this wall

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV refund

Morning all, I just want to share response from Dstv/Multichoice. These people lie and just won't payback your refund back. After being on the ph

one with them for most of December I wrote them an email explaining that I was retrenched and an exemployee of Multichoice. There is a refund on my account R3700. I gave through all details. They got back to me and re-requested my ID number ... I told them to read my email that I send as all the details was on there. They said they sending my query through to HR. Never had any response from HR. I wrote another email and can you believe I was requested to resend my ID, bank statements and so much more. I once again referred to my initial email. Got a response saying they are now sending the payment through to Finance. 12 days later I send a email asking what is happening. For the 3rd time I was requested to send all my details through. ID ... I once again referred them to my 1st email as this was still attached to my latest email. Once again an apology came though. I was told that finance rejected my payment. I once again gave all my details as per there request. They now sending it back to HR for a override. Once again I wrote and email as no one gets back to u. Once again i was told that its back at finance. Day number 3 at finance and waiting. If I as an exemployee from the company is struggling i cannot understand what everyone else must be going through. Please make sure everyone keeps there reference numbers. This is your proof that you have correspondent with them.

The problem is. Higher management does not read what people have to say on these forums so they do not care that there company has a bad name.

It is so regrettable that a company that is delivering an expensive service does not care about there customers. Really sad. I have now got an email address for one of the CEO. I'll keep everyone updated.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv online profile issue

For 4 months I have being tying to contact DSTV /Multichoice to resolve issues with my online profile. I did a change of Ownership from my late husbands name to my name and since Oct 2019 the decoders linked to my profile is incorrect, I cannot see my billing information and we also cannot use DSTV NOW or Showmax.
I have logged at least 7 incidents/tickets and each time I am told that they are escalating the issue and will get back to me. No one ever gets back to me.
On Tuesday I phoned the call- center again and spoke to a friendly lady called Confidence. After being on the phone for more than an hour, she promised she will phone back at 15h00. 3 days later, still no reply.
I am really fed up and cannot afford to spend hours on the phone or on live chat.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV poor dstv reception

I hope that this complaint reaches somebody that will respond to my complaint.

I pay nearly R 1000 a month for my Premium subscription.
Since the end of Dec 2019, I have had poor or no reption at all.

I am extremely frustrated that I pay such a large amount monthly to be getting such poor service.

My complaints seemingly have fell on deaf ears. I have called in on numerous occassions.

I am seriously considering cancelling my DSTV subscription as I believe it is total waste of money and I dont believe I should be paying for a service not recieved.

Can someone PLEASE confirm when this will be sorted out before I cancel.

Ricky - [protected]

Extremely Frustated Viewer.

I called on Monday after I notice that the money has been taken from my account inquiring again to what happened and explaining to the lady that wS helping me that the debit did damage to my account most of my debit order didn't go through because of this amount not forgetting the reversal charges et.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV mr delivery advertisement

Good morning. I am referring to the above company's latest advertisement which is currently being aired by DStv, and trust that you will remove this advertisement because it is upsetting, to say the least.

In South Africa there has been a long running campaign to stop the violence against women and children, and yet your latest advertisement promotes exactly verbal and violent abuse against a woman. What a rotter. It seems that it is a sick mind that uses that sort of tactics to promote business.

I am going to lodge a complaint against your advertisement with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission as a I have a huge problem with your advertisement which is very upsetting to watch. I will also copy this message to DStv who seems to think that it is okay to air such violence.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV incorrect billing

I paid my account of R939.00 on the 28th of December 2019. I have bought a house and my dstv was relocated. Ever since DSTV has billed me for a 3rd decoder which I do not own. I only have 3 explorer decoders. I went to the Uitenhage branch and spoke to the manager Melissa. She explained that they are only agents to DSTV and that they bill me incorrect. She did log a journal on their system, but head office just ignores her. Since then my dstv keeps being disconnected. It was disconnected 29 Dec, 1 Jan, 6 Jan, 8 Jan, 13 Jan, 17 Jan, 21 Jan, 24 Jan, 26 Jan and 28 Jan again. I had to phone in every time or go to the branch. The head office just tells me that my account is in arrears, which is not the case. This is unacceptable for I have been a client for almost 9 years and never was my account disconnect due to none payment. This mistake is by Multi choice self and this needs to be rectify for I am now fed up for this incompetency. It is costing me money to phone and hold on for like 30 minutes every time as well as my petrol

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv and incompetent staff

So I pay my mom's DSTV every month, i pay late because of the job I have. This should not be an issue if there's a late payment fee then please add it to her bill and I will gladly pay it.
I from the 08/01/2020 been experiencing problems with DSTV staff, so service was cut due to non payment. I accept, I pay the subscription and Reconnection same day while on the phone with an agent. They reconnect service, two days later service cut again so I'm on the phone with them again. Nobody knows what they doing at this place getting paid for free. There are people out here that would love to work but no DSTV employs people that don't want to be there. Since the 08/01/2020 my mom has had broken service, then another call to them they apologies and reconnect this has gone on until the 24/01/2020. Today when I called an agent he tells me sir we have cut the service because there's an amount owing on the account. (160.29) this amount is on the statement for 60 DAYS already. Not one of these agents took the time to really go through the account to explain this, and why do you keep Reconnecting the service if there is an arreared amount. Again every agent I spoke to probably 7 agents and nobody said sir you owe this amount. Now I get told sir we apologies for those agents not telling you this they will be dealt with. Now my mom sits and her service will not be connected until the amount has been paid. This DSTV are the worst people to deal with, we pay for a service and keep watching repeats cause they don't want to buy the proper licenses to buy proper movies. Why employ incompetent people who doesn't know how to check the system and explain to a customer why their service has been cut.
This has been the worst experience with them, I wouldn't recommend anyone pay these crooks every month.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV wrongly billed for subscriptions I do not have

I have been calling the multichoice contact center since early November 2019 to undo subscriptions that was wrongly added to my account
I purchased a DStv explora decoder from multichoice however I didn't connect it, this was done by a consultant who had no authority from me to connect it, the decoder is still in its box and is not connected at my home. On 06/11/19 I spoke to Fortunate under ref id [protected]-i101 and was advised that this was done in error and she would escalate to the price lock department to reverse. This was never done
I called again after my DStv was disconnected and again was told that the issue was with price lock
On 09/01/20 I spoke to Viogan who said he would escalate yet again however nothing has been done. I called again on 22/01/20 and spoke to Shamila Booysen who fed me the same story. I asked to speak to her manager/team leader (Adrian Philander) however he advised that he was too busy to speak to me and if I wanted I could wait 30 mins if I needed to speak to him. This is pathetic service from DStv and I now demand my refund for the incorrect services with interest that I had to pay in order to reconnect my services
It's no wonder that people are moving away from the service, the consultants have no clue what's going on and the managers are even more pathetic. So much for great customer service!

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV price lock delivery of new explora on 24 months contract

Good day

I am very unhappy, because I have called in and SMS'd on 30 December 2019 to upgrade for another 24 months contract on the price lock.

I have called 5 times already and SMS'd to the price lock number.

The first time they told me that my explora has been delivered already although we received nothing yet.

The second time they told me that the courier collected the explorer on 3 January 2020.

The next time they told me that there is a huge delay.

After that they told me to send an SMS although I get no reaction on my SMS's.

There is no way that I can talk to anybody to follow up on my deliver of my new explora.

Please assist urgently?

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv multichoice

My dstv has been cut 3 times for January yet I have paid. I have called the dstv call centre more than 5 times.
The first time they told me that the problem was with all FNB customers who have paid and the money was reversed. I asked the question reversed by who because I pay via EFT I cannot reverse that. After 40 minutes on the phone my services were reconnected. A few days later the same thing happened. They told me that there is a problem with my account. it will be escalated. And the services wont be disconnected again. to my surprise this morning the dstv is suspended again. I call the call centre and they tell me apart from the R494 that was paid for January on the 29th December I need to pay a further R60. I did so immediately. I call DSTV back speak to a consultant by the name of Nomfundo. she tells me that I need to pay a further R300 some change. I refuse and ask to speak to a manager after 12 mins on the phone she comes back to tell me her manager is on a call. The manager named Sizwe asked me to hold on because his on a call. DSTV have no sense of customer service and they treat their customers like DOGS! for too long we have been putting up with the abuse I will be cancelling my dstv. you play rubbish and repeat so much and then still treat customers bad.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV no customer service to emails

I have sent more than 10 emails, some to ask for a refund for their mistake and others to ask them to do a change of ownership for a decoder and to date I have not received any replies or action to any of my emails. I've been totally ignored but then what's new? Multichoice just has absolutely no interest in customer service, all they ever respond to is when they want to collect money from you. Absolutely totally useless people and company. Unfortunately they have the monopoly for satellite tv in this country otherwise they would close down in a day if people had another choice.
