Mr. Lube Canada review: My son was ripped off

Yesterday Nov 6, 2023 my son who is a student was in need of an oil change in his 2011 VW Golf

… the regular place he goes ( Mobile 1 ) in Ajax was closed for roof repair so he went to Mr Lube in Pickering ( Mobile 1 charges $103 plus you get great customer service and free fill up of windshield washer fluid , air pressure checks , air freshener and if you like sugar you can have a candy )

Anyhow , when they got him in the shop the “technician “ and I use that word lightly , pulled the hood latch too hard and then the hood wouldn’t open , finally after a while between 4 “ technicians” they got it open and said it was seized

Then …. This is a good one … the technician said the oil was low ( normal for and older vw , and would need an engine flush … my son agreed to it but they didn’t mention the price to him ( he wouldn’t imagine it would be very much ) and finally after an hour of messing around they handed him a bill for $266.16 YES that’s right $266.16 for an oil change

I ended up calling the PICKERING ONTARIO STORE and talked to MIKE the “ manager “and I use that term very lightly who was rude and asked me if I am threatening him …. I said no but that I was very unhappy with the way he ripped off my son and that I want the refund for the engine flush which was not required…. The conversation got heated and I hung up

I highly recommend to anybody who needs any kind of car service to NEVER GO TO MR LUBE

Just read all of the other un resolved complaints … WTF kind of business are they running here
