Mr. Lube Canada Transition oil mr lube

I took my car, Grand Caravan 2016 CRYD371, on June 14th in perfect condition for a transmission oil change at Mr Lube in Halifax, and the Mr Lube employee put a wrong clip on the oil tube, this caused all the oil to escape while I was driving, damaging my transmission, poor service performed by Mr Lube, and they are blaming mechanical problems such as overheating. I was using the car perfectly until I made the exchange at the store. The manager who attended to me yesterday, June 28, when you attended to me yesterday, said that the whole problem was due to the wrong placement of the lock and he redid the exchange and returned the entire amount of the payment for the oil, but he refuses to repair the car. really a reanalysis on the part of the company.. Thank you for your attention

Mr. Lube Canada Oil changed done and workers damaged the engine.

My vehicle went into Mr. Lube Store 112 located in Newmarket, ON.

The vehicle drove in fine however I was unable to drive it back out.

The employees at Mr. Lube damaged the engine of the vehicle.

It has been 24 hours and they refuse to return calls or provide updates.

The vehicle needs to go to the dealer and a rental is needed. All these request are being made to the store manager Romen and Area manager Vineet.

This store lacks in customer service, integrity and moral.

They ignore customers and think it is ok to take a customers vehicle to any shop they choose. Without the customers authorization

I am still waiting for Mr. Lube's insurance information to put forth my claim.

No one will return my calls. Or answer them any longer.

Desired outcome: I am still waiting for an outcome!

Mr. Lube Canada $200 oil change

Went to Mr. Lube May 27 for a quick oil change as I was going on a road trip. Went in knowing full well they will try to upsell on anything and everything... I know to always politely decline the added services. First I must say that he tried to sell me a flush because my dirty oil was black, I politely declined and wanted to say my oil is black yes because it is dirty and that is why I am here getting it changed but I felt it was not necessary to bring that up to him. The attendant pulled out my air filter and said it was dirty and did I want him to change it. Now I figured I could buy an air filter from Lordco for around $20 but I figured how much can the mark-up be so why not I said no to all the other upsells... well guess what they charged me $60 for a Fram air filter. So all said and done my oil change turned into just over $200. I am more pissed at myself for saying yes to anything they were selling including a full synthetic oil, when then saying come back after 3000km is synthetic not supposed to last longer... a lot longer. Regardless for their need for greed I will not support them ever again and I will have to learn to say no at future oil change businesses. Highly do not recommend or learn to say NO for all and any upsells.

Desired outcome: Hate the upsells that the staff seems to be required to do with all customers and how much is your mark-up?

Mr. Lube Canada Oil change service

Today I visited the Mr. Lube location at 2465 Eagle St N Suite 1, Cambridge, Ontario, for an oil change service on my 2011 Mini Countryman. I pulled into line and waited. 10 min later an associate came to me and said that they might not have the filter for my vehicle. He would have someone check while I was waiting and let me know. 30 min later no one had came back to me and I was able to pull into the bay. The attendant then advised me that they had no oil for my vehicle. I explained that I was waiting for over 30 min in line and was told that if the products weren't available for my vehicle someone would tell me instead of waiting. Her response was " sorry for the inconvenience ". I find this to be totally unprofessional as all it took was to check on their system. Especially the comment " sorry for the inconvenience".

Mr. Lube Canada Swap winter tires with summer tires

Last spring I took my car to Mr Lube in Bow Trail and 37th St to swap my winter tires and put my All Seasons on the same rims. When I took the car in winter to do the swap again I realized that the tires were damaged in the interior border during the last procedure. I had to buy a new set of tires because of that (of course not from them).

Will never let them to even touch one of our cars

Mr. Lube Canada Refusal to Cooperate and issue refund

I went to the Milton Location at 1525 Main St. E. because I had a sudden flat tire and at that time, that location was the only one that was open that provided tire repair. They did not have the tire in stock so they had to place an order.

The car was my sisters, I called her to inform the situation and she tried to get into contact with her husband but he wasn't answering the phone at that time and it was starting to get late so she said to go ahead and order it.

We placed the order for the tire, that was supposed to come in the next day. They quoted us 370 dollars, all included labour and any other costs, Taxes would be extra. I get a bill for 432. Basic math states that with taxes, I should not have been given a bill for more than 418 dollars.

I paid it because the situation was rough. not 15 minute later, my brother-in-law, who's car it is, spoke to my sister and I and said he'd change all 4 tires himself. I immediately called this location and a person named Marco answered, I explained to him the situation and he straight up refused me the refund. Stating some BS about it being on the computer and they can't do anything about it. That's a straight up lie, there is no PoS system that does not have refund or return built into it.

I tried to explain to him that the car again was my sisters, her husband's said he'll be changing all 4 tires, but he still refused to give me the refund and said it was my problem now.

I tried going to the bank to dispute the transaction and they were unable to, stating we would have to go to the merchant. The merchant, Mr. Lube #156 refuses to provide a refund.

Completely unacceptable.

Desired outcome: I would like a full refund.

Mr. Lube Canada My experience there

I went to the Mr. lube location on Islington Avenue. When I first got there the customer service was wonderful the guy who helped me he was a nice guy but I feel like he took a vantage of me because I was a female. I went in there to get my oil change and as well as a new windshield wiper I let him know that it was my first time there. He never told me how Mr. lube to work ever told me that Mr. lube checks your car to see if your car runs perfectly I didn’t know any of that all I know is that him and his other coworker start changing stuff in the car and when I’m realizing it they have already changed it and added onto my total instead of them to ask me if I want them to get a changed they have already changed them down me knowing. They will tell me that they are checking something the next moment that I know they have taken it apart and replacing it with a new one and since I have never been there before I didn’t know it was part of the policy I feel like they only did it because I was a female and they clearly knew that I didn’t really know what was going on after I was finished paying I was trying to tell the man my concern and how I feel like they took a vantage of me because I came there with an oil change and a windshield wiper in mind and now I’m leaving with a whole different other stuff he was just smiling and telling me that he told me which he didn’t he only told me that he’s going to check it the next moment that I know he is taking them apart and putting stuff in. And I feel like if he did not hear me tell my fiancé over the phone that I feel like they’re taking a vantage of me he what I’m not asked me if I had a problem . I feel like that is very unprofessional especially if it’s a new client you will have to lease let them know that their policy is to check the cars to see if the car is running smoothly and if they see that something is wrong they should at least ask if we should change it or you would like to leave it not already added to the bill and not given the client a chance to deny because they have already taken it apart. This was the worst experience ever especially the fact that I’m a new member and me having this experience I would never ever go back to Mr. lube because I feel like they take a vantage of females just because we don’t know much about cars. I feel like they were more concerned about the money that they will get rather than actually communicating with the client to ask that if they would like to get something else done because they see a problem with whatever instead of just taking in a pond himself and just doing it without thinking what if the person did not have money for it I feel that they took a vantage of the situation just because I’m a female and if I was not on the phone with my fiancé telling him that I feel like they’re taking a vantage of me the guy waited until I paid before asking me if there was a problem which is very unprofessional and even when I was telling him my concern he was just smiling

Desired outcome: I’d like to be compensated with a refund with the other things that was on the oil change

Mr. Lube Canada Oil Change

In late January, 2022 I visited the Mr Lube for a scheduled oil change.

Nineteen days after the oil change, I noticed that the engine had developed an upper engine knock. A local service station checked the oil level and determined that the level was down 1.25 L of oil.

Ten days later, I noticed that the engine knocking was getting more frequent and louder, and took the vehicle to a Toyota dealership for a deeper evaluation. The service department determined that the vehicle had used another 1.5 L of oil in only 500 km's.

Seven days later, after visiting the same Toyota dealership, the oil was down 0.62 L of oil after only 483 km's of driving.

I believe that Mr. Lube failed to fill the vehicle with the proper level of oil during the January, 2022 visit and caused permanent damage to the engine.

Prior to this visit, I trusted Mr. Lube with all of my oil changes for years.

Desired outcome: Complete remediation of the damaged engine. The engine needs to be replaced.

Mr. Lube Canada Engine Died

I have done last 2 oil changes in Mr. Lube Location in GTA area. Yesterday my Engine seized and today my dealer is telling the Engine is died because of low oil (or) no oil. They are quoting me a C$ 12,000 for fixing the engine as it needs to be replaced. What i don't understand is with oil changed and no oil leak, how can my engine have low (or) no oil. Now I started believe both the time Mr. Lube location didn't do any oil change but just charged me

Mr. Lube Canada Oil Change

I am taking Mr. Lube to court after they admitted to not putting oil back in my car during an oil change, resulting in my engine blowing with less than 50, 000 miles on it. My car is older but has been driven less than 2500 miles per year. The solution through their garage policy's insurance was to write off my entire car and give me $2000. for it. My car had been maintained sufficiently and had oil changes done before the oil was even dirty. It had years of life left in it and was worth more to me before they killed it.

The burden of dealing with a less than caring owner has added a great deal of stress and aggravation for my already suffering mental health, not to mention the out of pocket expense of having to purchase another car.

I will post the outcome of my court case soon.

Mr. Lube Canada Location would not allow me to provide my own fully synthetic oil!

Visited the 130th St location this morning and was advised that they would not be able to complete my oil change because they do not use customer supplied products. I wanted to use my supplied Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil which I explained to "Guy" the tech trying to assit. The only explanation for refusing customer supplied product is because it does not allow you 'Mr Lube" to mark up and profit from the Prem oil supplied by the customer.

I sold Mobil 1 Oil for over 20 years and have never been refused service of installing my own perm product. I only use Mobil Prem products in all my 5 vehicles and it is changed every 5000km max.

The lube business is very competitive and if this continues to be your policy, you will not get my business. The next move is yours...

Desired outcome: I want to be able to provide my own oil for my oil change in my vehicle!

Mr. Lube Canada winter tire change over

went into mr. Lube on Dundas street in Whitby, ON to have my winter tires put on. They had put them on my rims. They proceeded to take all my all season off, and then told me that the tires were no good, and that they could dispose of them, and we could buy 4 new ones, for over 1, 000.00. We declined, and they put our all season back on, and said that they would only charge us for doing two tires. So they never inspected our winter tires before taking off my all season, charged us 85.00, and kept our winter tires. They also never put the proper air in our tires, they were all sitting different, 47, 31, 37, 40... terrible, terrible service, and charged unfairly... will not be doing business with them again!

Desired outcome: refund

Mr. Lube Canada Oil filter

I had my oil changed at Mr lube September 30 and today the oil filter fell off and all the oil came out all over a brand new driveway at a house I'm working at. My truck ran for 15 to 20 minutes with no oil in it. I command started my truck after work to let it warm up and as I was reversing out of the driveway I noticed a bunch of oil on the new driveway with my oil filter sitting there on the ground! Now the manager at the Winnipeg store on Nairn Ave saying that it's my fault more less ! I must have hit a rock or something he says lol . The filter must have not been properly tightened when they change the oil that's what happened in my opinion, I hope my engine isn't toast because of this! Mr. Lube Canada Technician caught in lie

I wanted to give full context to my complaint on Google Reviews of the Mr. Lube + Tires at 2221 8th St East. I just got back late Friday night, as I have been away for the week on a business trip. I came back to snow and ice. I should have just waited for Monday at my regular place, but I knew my wife needed new winter tires for her vehicle as we'd just purchased it. I knew Saturday was going to busy everywhere, as this is the season. I did manage to get her vehicle into Midas, and get her new rims and winter tires for the season. However, it would be too late for my vehicle. So, I phoned around and had a pleasant chat with a lady at this location, who told me first come first serve. It would be my first time using this brand ever, but the call went well so I was ready to give it a try.

So, I made up my mind to come early the next business day, around 9:10 am - I was fifth in line. Eventually, my contact information was taken by a lady and another guy, I turned over my keys, and "Uber"ed home thinking it was going to be resolved - and apparently I would later learn my contact information was lost, which I why I received no call back.

There was no rims to purchase for my winter tires, which is fine. You get what you pay for with no appointments, but it was worth asking. (Tomorrow, my winter tires will be put on winter rims.) I went home and waited. It was getting late so I called around 3:00. To be clear I had to call three times, as the call kept dropping, to be told that the tech "was just about to call me" and that the tire machine was broken, but "my vehicle was ready to go". As a journeyman plumber, service technician, and gas fitter for the last twenty years, I know the kind of service I would like and I do my best to give that at every call. This kind of lack of service and maintenance on your own gear isn't acceptable for any business. Can you imagine me walking into your home to fix your broken furnace to tell you that my gear is broken and that your home will just have to stay cold for the next few days until I repair it? How would you respond? Your business model works on customer urgency, but somehow you missed maintenance of your own gear. I'm more than willing to pay the surcharge for doing business on the weekend to resolve my issue and that's why I came in the first place.

However, I was very angry after this call, to say the least. I had my wife drive me back to the location twenty minutes later. Only to discover my vehicle was not yet back together, and it was not ready to go, as one tire was yet to be put on still…. as a side note your techs managed to lose and replace all three valve stem caps with shorter ones that do not fully cover the brass portion of the stem. My remaining untouched tire has the original valve stem cap from when I had the rims drilled out for the stems and sensor packs. It's not a big deal, but the little touches matter to the service oriented customer. The tech took me to "charge me out" at a terminal, but he didn't have any of my contact information…the same information I gave early that morning, not even my number. So how was he planning to call me without my number or even address me without my name? When he asked me for my name and number, I said "F* You". This tech has lied to me 1) my vehicle was not ready for pickup 2) he had no way to call me. At this point, your franchise name means nothing to me in terms of quality service. Your marketing and advertisement had let me down. Your team had failed to perform. Your gear was not in operable condition. And as a customer I deserve better. My response wasn't right, but it was my mistake for going there in the first place for trusting a franchise name. This tech was caught in a lie, and he wasn't about to push it further. And there was no way I was paying for the inconvenience of being lied to, having my day wasted, not getting my issue resolved and having to now take more time to resolve it.

I was not charged for this inconvenience but there is no way to prove that because your team didn't keep my information. Looking back, I should have never even gave them my keys. But I made the mistake of trusting a brand to expect quality service. As a terrible bonus, your techs almost threw away my original rubbers. Unreal. Your tech said they were in the back. I'm glad I asked because they were not. I waited as they bagged them, and slammed that rear hatch shut - very much happy to have me leave I'm sure. He wouldn't even make eye contact with me when I asked for my keys. He knew the truth. I drove out the bay door and noticed my tire sensor light was on. The two "front" changed rubbers had a psi of 27 on the left and 21 on the right. My rear passanger rubber that was put back on had a psi of 31. My untouched tire was still at 35. Seriously? I didn't come in that way, as my sensors would have told me. Is this a normal practice to leave with different pressures, not even factory spec? Is this the level of quality that can be expected across Canada at all Mr. Lube + Tire? I get it it's a franchise and as a franchise owner you probably don't care. I do.

As a service technician, I enter just shy of 2000 homes a year here in Saskatoon. I want you to know that when I'm in these homes building rapport and fixing their plumbing and heating issues. I'm going to be talking about my poor customer experience at your franchise, the inoperable gear, the technician who lied, the poor quality of service, the almost loss of my previous tires, the low tire pressure of my newly changed tires, the amount of time I now have to spend fixing what is wrong…I'm not impressed, but thankfully there are companies that care about service and their customers. I want to be clear that I expect nothing from you as I've had enough of your customer service to last a lifetime. I hope this location changes for the better, but neither I and hopefully after hearing my experience the homes I enter will never know either.

-First & Last Time Customer

Mr. Lube Canada Misleading and up charging

I just want to put this out there.
It was my first visit to any Mr.Lube.
I went to an Oshawa location.
I was told I had no oil left in my car, which surprised me because I had just checked it less than a week ago. But I trusted this guy… and then he told me that because of the potential damage and probable sludge build up, I would need to have a flush, along with a fuel system flush, engine flush and he listed off a few other things.
After seeing that what he was saying I NEEDED would cost $500, I declined a few options but was convinced that I needed a few things that were urgent.
The oil change was $80, which is fine.
The fuel system cleaning was $129!
Engine flush $27.99
Friction Shield $39.99
Cabin Air Filter $81.99
He ‘gave me a deal' by taking off just over $30.
I went in for an oil change. Ended up costing just under $370. I left feeling so take advantage of.
If upselling is Mr.Lubes business model, they should be avoided. It's the grossest way to do business. So dishonest. I will, obviously, not be going back but I will also be letting people know that Mr.Lube is dishonest and aims to sell, not meet actual needs.
I'm not even super upset with the guy that did it… from my understanding, that's his job. Upsell.
So disappointing.
In the aftermath of this, I'm doing all this easy maintenance myself in the future.
