We purchased a Maytag Range Model MFES6030RZ from Menards and it was delivered on November 5th. Seem like a nice range, but one night we wanted to broil some steaks. The oven like our last Maytag had a broil setting on the backsplash controls. Pressed broil the temp came up 500 degrees and pushed start. Let it heat up and put the steaks in and 8 minutes later nothing. They were not even fully browned. Talked to Menards they gave me Maytag's service number and today 11/20th they came and told me that this oven does not produce constant direct heat as you would expect from a broiler. Menards wants nothing to do with it and I can't cook the same meals I used to with my old Maytag. All I want is an oven with a broiler. I'd be happy if they would exchange it for a range that does even if it was a higher cost unit. I feel like I got short changed. How was I to know that the broil setting on this oven was not really a broil setting.
