Maytag Maytag Dishwasher

I purchased a Maytag dishwasher from Lowes in September 2020. They recommended ordering early even though it was not needed until Feb 2021. The item was delivered in Feb 2021. We checked the box and it was not damaged. The item was installed in March 2021. We ran the dishwasher for the first time on March 29. It leaked water on the floors and into the basement ceiling. The installer was called back, pulled out the machine, lifted the white insulation and found that the back was dented in causing a hole for the water to leak from.

I contacted Lowes who would not help because it was 30 days beyond the purchase and was told I needed to deal with Maytag

Maytag scheduled a service rep from VIA to come out to "repair the item". The service rep said it looked like it had been hit with a forklift and was not repairable. He said he would contact the Maytag rep to advise.

Three days later I heard nothing so I called Maytag. The customer service rep said the last note in my file was "That's a NO".

When she researched "that's a NO" further it appears that the VIA service rep followed the wrong' process. That he should have contacted the diagnostic team. They planned to send another rep out today to follow the correct process. However I was contacted by the service rep that Maytag had reviewed the notes and determined that all they needed to do was send a new tub.

I spoke with several people at Maytag questioning how a new tub was going to repair the dent in the frame. They did not have a good answer. They also told me the new tub is on back order with no scheduled delivery date.

Desired outcome: I want Maytag to replace this item, pay for the replacement of my buckled hardwood floors, the drywall on the ceiling in the basement and installation of the new machine

I have spoken to 5 Maytag representatives. Please actually read the review. Connecting on social media is unnecessary. You have all of the information you need regarding my issue in your system. Please stop giving me the run around.

Maytag Dishwasher and gas cook top

Dishwasher- area around the handle is peeling and beginning to rust
On cooktop- knobs finish has peeled
Surface of cooktop is looking like I scraped with steel wool
Customer service says it's all cosmetic and warranty doesn't cover it.
These appliances are one year old.
I was hoping to get quality products made in USA
Am. So very disappointed in the shoddy workmanship. And very poor customer service.

Desired outcome: Replaced knobs and fix the rusting facade of washer.

Maytag Washing machine

Purchased there too if the lone top loader and after less than 5 months it stopped working. Waited a month to get someone out to look at it through Maytag warranty only to have them tell me it will be 8-12 more weeks till the parts come in. I called Maytag and they will not replace the machine I just have to wait till it can be fixed. So after spending almost $1000 on a washer I have to go to the laundromat indefinitely because it's not there policy to refund money or replace a machine. This machine is brand new.

Maytag Maytag Washer MVWB865GW0 Serial # C806 70126

Purchased washer on 2/17/2018 along with matching gas dryer. It was delivered and installed on 3/52018. 3 year extended warranty began 2/17/2018 expired 2/16/2021.

Started having problem with lid in 2020. The left had bottom side of lid that meets with metal to help close it. Started breaking off. It is made of plastic. It finally broke off so bad lid that I couldn't use washer. The lid would not lock.

Contacted Lowe's and spoke to service extended warranty representative. They sent out Dependable Appliance company [protected]) on August 18, 2020 and a new new lid was installed on August 26, 2020.

I contacted them since the same problem is happening again. Was told that the company warrants labor and parts for 90 days. They are coming out next Wednesday to repair. Which I am going to have to pay for poor workmanship/design.

This is a manufacturing problem. From various websites it appears a lot of complaints have been issued for this same exact problem. The lid is breaking off at the lower left bottom side.

Please advise how are you going to resolve/compensate me for this issue.

Desired outcome: New washer or compensation for any costs that I will be incurring.

Patricia, I have the exact same model and I purchased the washer from Home Depot on May 4, 2019. The exact side lid hinge broke 21 months later. I have not contacted Home Depot, but I have received a quote from a repairman for $400.00, which is ridiculous. I called Maytag's toll free number and they just wanted me to order the parts, pay for them and hire someone to install it.

Maytag Dishwasher Repair

Maytag Dishwasher Model no. MDB8959SKB, Serial no. FX1501204. Maytag Service Provider: J & H Factory Service, job # SWPP2248C418-1, phone [protected]. The pump failed about 02/01/2021 and service rep came on 02/07/2021, diagnosed the problem as a failed pump and said a new one would have to come from Maytag - would take about 3 weeks. Talked to Maytag today ( 8 weeks after the service rep's visit) and got a polite version of the old Razzle Dazzle, but no commitment as to when or if part would be shipped. How long do I have to wait before Maytag admits they can't fix my dishwasher and agrees to replace it? It's obvious to me that Maytag stocks no spare parts in the US and the needed pump will have to come from China, if there any spares there. I know I shouldn't have expected much for only $700, but I thought it would last at least a year or that Maytag would honor their warranty. So far, I have been wrong on both counts.

Maytag Maytag Bravos Washer and Dryer

Avoid Maytag! Worst products and customer service I have ever encountered. Our dryer had to be fixed two months after purchase because of overheating and being considered a safety hazard. Maytag sent someone to fix it. Less than a month later same problem. This time we had a local company come and look at it. We were informed that the person Maytag sent had installed the replacement heating element incorrectly and it was a disaster waiting to happen. It had gotten so hot on the middle setting that the paint peeled off the inside vents. Now for the washer. In February our washer was just four years old. I put in a small load and started it. A horrible, very loud noise started. Like a metal on metal sound. I immediately turned it off and called Maytag. They promptly sent a person out to look at it. I was informed that it was the motor and he told me that it was covered under the 10 year limited warranty. He had to order the part or parts and scheduled an appt for two weeks out. He did say it could take longer and I understood. I was given the job number so I could check the status online. The repair company canceled the appt. the day before it was scheduled due to the parts not being in yet. On March 23rd I checked the site and was surprised to see that the job was marked completed and billed. I called to ask Maytag if they could find out what the problem was. I also asked why 5 different parts were ordered, including a new dispenser which was not part of the problem. Turns out Maytag informed them that the part of the motor that was malfunctioning was not covered. They could not explain to me why a dispenser, a motor, a wash plate, an aquator, and a drive hub were ordered. The repair company then closed the account out as completed. I was told that the repair company claimed that reached out to me without success. Phone records proved that to be untrue. When I asked how Maytag could make it right their response was to tell me to fill out a customer complaint form against the repair company that Maytag sent and that was the best they could do. It took over 4 hours to get to that point. The only person who got screwed in this whole scenario was me. Not Maytag and not the repair company. We were able to get someone local, once again, and it can be fixed for a third of the price because only two parts are actually need. I have since had the chance to speak to other Maytag product owners and I now wish we had done our due diligence before we purchased our products. I understand that things can go wrong with machines but the worst part of our experience was the poor customer service that Maytag offered. Not once did they attempt to take any responsibility. They were just intent on me filing a complaint against the repair company they sent. That should have been the responsibility of Maytag. Never again.

Maytag Refrigerator

We have a Maytag refrigerator that is less than three years old. The shelf frame broke so we contacted Maytag to order a part. It was back ordered so long that another part broke due to the strain from the damaged piece so we had to order yet another part. We are going on 4 months and still do not have the original part making the fridge almost unusable! We keep contacting the customer service and they keep saying there is nothing they can do and the date keeps getting pushed back. We are at our wits end and nobody at Maytag will even listen to us. E will never buy from the company again!

Maytag Filing Complaint - Maytag refrigerator model # MF12570FEZ

RE: [protected] - Have had nothing but problems with this high dollar refrigerator. The ice bin is extremely hard to pull out which I am not physically able to accomplish. Hence, it does not dispense ice because of the ice buildup. I am elderly and have had many refrigerator in the past, but this Maytag (bought because of reputation of Maytag) had been nothing but trouble with from day one. I had previously made a complaint about this ice maker while it was still under warranty to no avail.
Requesting a refrigerator replacement or replacement of the ice maker.

Maytag Dishwasher

I purchased a new dishwasher model: MDB8959SKZ on October 3, 2020. Around December 4, 2020 the dishwasher broke down. We called your warranty department, and they sent a service technician out. The technician said it was a bad control panel and that he would put the order in, but the technician could not give us an ETA on when the part would come in and the dishwasher would be fixed. We proceeded to call the customer service department almost weekly for 3 months to find out how long the part would take to come in. They could not give us an answer, and I got no cooperation from them on who could give me that answer. Every time we have called to find out the status of the part, we either get the run around or a random date thrown out there to get us off the phone. They gave us several ETA dates that came and went, and the part never came in and the dishwasher is still broken. The technician contacted the main parts department and was told the date of February 28, 2021 and that date came and went. Finally, we were told the part came in on March 15, 2021 and the technician came on March 18, 2021. The technician came to fix the dishwasher and the control panel part he was sent was incomplete, so he could not fix the dishwasher.
There are several ways to find a different part, including taking a control panel off a different dishwasher. We have also requested a new dishwasher and were denied that request. We have had a broken dishwasher for 15 weeks now, four months is an unacceptable amount of time to have a customer with a broken appliance from your company. This is no way to run a business and if I ran mine like you run yours then I would be out of business.
If I do not get this problem resolved by the 26th of March 2021, I will be taking this to consumer affairs and talking to my attorney after that.

Maytag Top load washer

We purchased Maytag washer MVW7232HWO on 10/15/2020. It was delivered on 10/23/2020. We weren't familiar with the settings and operation, so we gave it a little while, but it just wouldn't work properly. We called Home Depot they told us to contact Maytag warranty. Called on 11/09/2020. West Texas Appliance was sent out. They ordered parts and replaced contact board, water valves, staider, rotor, screw and pump on 1/25/2020. The washer still does not fill enough to wash and rinse. It doesn't agitate, clothes still smell when done, or they are sometimes soapy still. It makes a clanging noise. Called service center again 3/1/2021. Called service company they aren't sent techs to San Angelo right now. Called Maytag warranty again to ask for another repair tech, they sent out Concho Valley appliance on 3/16/2021. Tech made a few adjustments but stated that everything has been replaced already, and he doesn't really know what else to do. We tried to wash a small load after he left, it wouldn't fill, we had to cancel the cycle and restart several times, wasting water and detergent. We restarted it yet again, and now it is filing but won't agitate or spin at all. This machine has Wi-Fi capabilities but can't use it bc have to stand over the machine for hours restarting draining, adding water and rewashing the same load. If the service tech cannot fix our machine what are we to do with a brand-new washer that does not work and never has since the date of purchase? I am very frustrated bc I have laundry piling up everywhere and can't do anything but stand over my brand-new washer. Is there some replacement or trade in option for a lemon machine? I just need a machine that works please. If we could just trade it in for a front loading model that works, I would be happy. Please help us.

Maytag Dryer model MEDB850WQ, SER #M03229911

Called MAYTAG customer service on 11 March 2021 and spoke to a Stella and told our Maytag dryer was making a lot of noise. I provided model number and unit serial number.
Stella said that she will dispatch a repairman from Diamond Factory Service on Monday 15 March 2021 (phone 269-210-8990).
The Repairman arrived, look at the dryer, operated, a listened to the noise and proceeded to tell us that he could not repair the unit because no spare parts are available and have not been available for over a year and a half for our model. We were charged $110 for the service.
Our complaint is that since we provided the model and serial number, the service company, Diamond, should not have even dispatched a repairman, since they knew in advance that they could not possibly repair our dryer when no repair parts were not even available.
It is respectfully requested that our cost of $110 be refunded ASAP.

Maytag Maytag top loading washer Model MWC465HW2

This is a water saver and I hate it. There is not enough water to get clothes clean. I turned on the "Deep Water" option, but still not enough water. Is there an override somewhere? I called once and got hung up on. So much for customer service. Please respond. The machine has been in use for 2 years and everything comes out so twisted up. I hate hate hate it.

Maytag Washer

We own a washer Mod mvwc565fw1 serial c82841329 about 2.5 years young. The unit works fine but the washer door and bleach filler area is rusting terribly. The door and bleach area looks like washer from 30 years ago. Being 69 years old we have has many washers and dryers including Maytag. At their end of life, the porcelain cabinets were in perfect condition. This unit is rusting like a tin can and looks like a very cheap washer which it was not. I wanted to add the pictures as proof. You decide what the correct response should be and let us know.. thanks.

Maytag Maytag Refrigerator Model#MRT118FFFH01

Date of purchase: March 27, 2019, Pd. $1, 287.01
Started having issues beginning of January 2021 with items freezing in various areas of the refrigerator section. Contacted Maytag and they sent an authorized service tech which we had to pay $150 and was told that the evaporator coil was gone. They also sent us an estimate in the amount of $800 for the repair. After spending one hour on the phone mostly being put on hold, we were told that the best Maytag could do was cover the cost of the part only $300. We replied that this was unacceptable since this was definitely a defective unit and not something caused by everyday use. We refused to put more money into a fridge that's not even two years old and end up paying $2, 000 for a fridge that's worth $1, 000. We were also offered 20% off a new fridge but had to be their brand. Well I'm sorry but we don't feel that your product is very reliable and will probably never buy it again because you certainly don't stand by your product and all we get is I'm sorry.

Maytag Neptune washer - MAH8700aww. Model# 17893373JP

We have had this reliable product for a little over 14 years. It still runs like a top, until this past Monday. My wife was removing clothes from the washer, when a large piece of glass broke off of the bowl shaped glass that is part of the door, that goes into the washer itself. I contacted a repair shop, and told them what was needed. They got back to me and said the part wasn't made anymore. I called your parts dept. #. Spoke to Reggie and got the same response. So because of this I have to buy a new washer. Even though the machine is a little over 14 years old, it runs great, and I think it is a terrible waste to have to get rid of it because of a part that you don't make anymore.
We bought your product because it is supposed to be the best. I guess we expected the best to be able to take care of any parts problem that came up.

Maytag The maytag website will not allow in-person contact.

I have a registered washing machine, less than a year old, that is malfunctioning. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes on the customer service line, I decide to user the online service. While scheduling local service (which was a successful schedule) I found that your website (actually Whirlpool's website) does not list the extended warranty I paid for. I want to know why not and what to do about it. This is the kind of complicated problem that an automated service is not designed to handle. It appears that Maytag/Whirlpool has no interest in allowing customers to speak to a human being who might be able to help. The chat service connects you to a database. The phone numbers listed all connect to the line that I waited 20 minutes for. I like the products you make, but this is making me hesitate to ever purchase one again.

Desired outcome: Why do you show no record of the extended warranty I bought?

I agree that your customer service is very poor. we had a wash machine delivered on Feb 15. it did not work when the delivery person was here but he said maybe the machine was to cold as it was very cold out side. He said to wait an hour or so and try again. we did. then it did not work still. we called Home Depot and they gave us the number of Maytag. we were on hold for 50 min. one call and 30 mn on the next call. the tech said to put clothes in and he was sure (He guaranteed)it would work. He gave me his number and said to call back it problem. Well it didn't work. I called him back and was in hold for another 30 min. called Home Depot and they called Maytag. He call us back and stated they, Maytag, would be calling us back within 24 hours. they didn't. Home Depot kept in contack with us and called them again. Finally they said they would replace the machine but it would be another 2 weeks before getting the new one. that would be a month with our a wash machine. wash was pilling up. went to the laundry mat 3 times with we only washed and dryed at home. At $11.00 a load this counts up. Maytag offered us $50.00. Big Deal. that does cover our wash cost or driving. I am not happy with Maytag but I do have a working was machine. For how long? I hope 10 years.

Maytag Dishwasher

We bought a Maytag Dishwasher in May/2020, Model #MDB8959S at Lowe's
8 months later the drain pump/motor went out, we were told they can't find the part anywhere, so its been on backorder since the first week of December.
We have made many calls to the 'Appliance Hospital' spoke with Carla, Aubry about this and we get the same answer every time, Still on backorder, don't know when it's going to be available. On 2-1-21 I spoke with Carla, she said they could send out a "X-Part" for the dishwasher and it would take about 2 weeks, was sent to their 'Specialty Team'. That 2 weeks has come and gone, my husband called the week of Feb. 15th to inquire about the X-Part, was told it was being rush, so as of today, march 5, 2021 we still haven't heard anything, still paying for a dishwasher I haven't been able to use for 4 months, oh and to mention the effing interest i'm paying on it also. So i'm asking you to get this part now, or get me a come and get this dishwasher, refund me what I paid for it and the interest that i've have already paid. Im done waiting!

We bought a Maytag dishwasher in June 2020. The pump failed about Feb. 1 2021 and a Maytag service person came on Feb. 7 to tell us the pump failed and a new one would have to obtained from Maytag, which would take three weeks. It is now over four weeks. When I called Maytag, I was told they didn't have the part yet but were expediting it. In other words, I got the old Razzle Dazzle. I know I shouldn't have expected much for something that only cost $700, but I thought it would last at least a year. From other posts on this site, I am resigned to never having my dishwasher fixed or Maytag making good on their warranty. One thing for sure - I will never buy another Maytag/Whirlpool product.

1. Purchased 12/13/20 2. Delivered/Installed 12/18/20 3. Problems start
early January 4. Called Maytag who had Guinco do service call on 1/29/21
5. Guinco determined that Motor/Control/Cam/Belt were defective and needed to be replaced 6. Set appointment to replace for 2/26/21 (said parts were hard to get) 7.Guinco called on 2/25/21 to cancel appointment indicating that Motor was still not in. Further, they would contact us when it came in. I asked them to determine when the last date was that their Parts dept. received a Motor. On March 1, 2021, they informed us they have not received a Motor since January. 8. On March 2, 2021, called Maytag Cust. Svc. We left our number for a "call back." A CS Rep did call back, we explained the history and they asked to put us on "hold" to see the "notes" on our file. After 5 minutes, we were disconnected, with no call back.

Comment/Question: The dryer timer mechanism had to be replaced due to overheating. This is not satisfactory after only 3yrs and 8 months of use by 74 yr. old senior citizens, very little use. Maytag is requested to refund my repair $261.38 or provide an extended warranty. "Made in America" is why I bought the Maytag and after 3 yr use, this is not acceptable.

Maytag Dishwasher

Purchased a Maytag Dishwasher in November of 2020. Drain pump went after 2 weeks Service guy said they didn't have the pump and would order it from Maytag. It has been over 4 months and still no pump. I am so disgusted about the runaround from Maytag and Fields the co. who said they would fix it. It was over 900.00 dollars. What am I supposed to do?
