On Friday of last week, the 31st of december 2021 I has a charge of $46.00 from a company called Mechanic JA.. Then yesterday th 3rd of January 2022 the name change on the charges to Just answer.com. what is going on.
Desired outcome: An explanation of what is going on and a phone number provided so that I can contact someone at their location and talk to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking for answers regarding issues with a gaming console I was charged $68.00 though I did not talk to anyone associated with the online service JustAnwser. The online link to the company was terminated before any communication was made. Research shows this company commits this type of fraudulent transaction often. The company JustAnswer should be held accountable for their illegal activities.

This company deliberately misleads people seeking help about their fee's, making you think you are joining for $1 by hiding the monthly charge in teeny tiny print. On the 18th, I was charged a $1 fee and a surprise membership fee of $28. On the 21st I was charged $34, which I authorized, and they also took the liberty of charging my account an additional $2 for no reason. It may only be $2, but it's my $2. I will never use them again!

On 11/22/21 I used this company for legal information. A representative from the company contacted me and told me that I would be charged $1.00 to test my account and an additional $46.00 to be contacted by some from their legal service. I asked specifically if this would be a one-time charge and the rep said yes. this company took 2 more charges from credit card amounting to $93.00 when I explained this to the company rep about the extra charges, she said sorry they did cancel my account. but made no attempt to refund me my money. I asked for a direct number to the company and the rep gave me an erroneous number of [protected] she stated her name was Keren I have my credit card statement as proof

On Oct 3, 2021, I was transitioning to a new computer and was having an issue with connecting to dual screens. I saw an ad for a $1 question on JustAnswer. I followed up again for a $6 question on the same day. Unfortunately, the advise did not correct the problem. The service providers were very attentive and professional. However, on following up on a recent bank statement, I saw where I was enrolled in a monthly program for $46.00. I must have missed the "small print" and was not aware of the membership. Today, I called and talked with a Margie about this mix-up and was told that it was clearly indicated on the website. I do not recall any indication of this following the ad that I received. She also said that JustAnswer sent me an email notifying me of the cancellation period- which I did not receive. Your records indicate that I have not used your service since that one day- Oct 3.

They tricked me into a membership by saying the fee to talk to someone was $1 but then they automatically signed me up for a membership and charged me $46 immediately on top of the $1. The pages that I went through to talk to a doctor on did not clearly state that I was signing up for a membership and it did NOT clearly state i was going to be charged $46 immediately. It was purposefully misleading. When I contacted chat for a refund they refused and said i agreed to it. But when a webpage is purposefully misleading it is not a fully informed consent. Last thing I needed when fearing I might have cancer while having no health insurance was a scam company charging me $46 i don't have.

just looked at the site for my self to see how it's presented [i seen sites where you need to go through 50 links just to get the pricing. just answer it only took 1 link]. i found right away under the customer section and in faq they state that asking a question is $1 but there are other fees that will be applied for services. these fees [according to the site] will be posted when you put in your CC info on signup.
It could be placed in a different location to be seen better but i see the price listed. maybe you had a glitch or something that prevented you from getting the page to fully load?

JustAnswer service is a lie and scam. My father was asked to pay $2 for a question to be answered. The $2 was taken out then $60 was taken out! Rang the customer service number to know why and was hung up on twice. Claimed they were in the Philippines. I would like the money refunded but You can't trust what the scammers will do.

Unauthorised credit card charges
My 'not very tech savvy partner' stumbled across JustAsk while looking for some information on her car.
She unwittingly entered her credit card details, asked her question and then promply forgot about the site.
5 months later I notice a charge of £30 on her statment. After some investigation I find out JustAsk have been billing her every month for 5 months! A total of £150 has been stolen, as far as I'm concerned, from her.
Their chat bot is just that, a bot, doesnt feel like a real person replying. I've been in touch with them via phone and am waiting for my parntner to get home from work to confirm they have refunded her money.
This site is immoral and it's bussness model relies 100% on internet users, who, like my partner, arnt aware that sites like this exist purly to steal a monthly 'charge' from them.
It's highly unlikelly any of thier so called experts are indeed experts, something they actually acknowledge, tudked away in thier Terms and Conditions.
Avoid this site like the plague.

while its true in these times money is tight. it is mentioned on the site that there is a free trial and will be billed monthly if you don't opt out [i believe it is set by default assuming you will continue to use the platform]. there is [from what i read] a $1 posting question fee then a services fee. after the trail there is the membership fee and services [from what i understand].
so if she forgot about the site and did not cancel the account before the trail ended then they will take the membership fee out.
That said though i do not approve of this time of practice.

I wanted to overcome a difficulty I was having getting
e mail on my tablet and my phone. Just answer said I
had to pay 1 dollar, in order to do this I had to use my debit card. The first weekday after i.e. I found they had taken
40 euros from my bank account together with the 1 dollar without my permission.
This was achieved with the cheap trick used to get my
card number. I have been to my bank today and they
cut my card up and told me to claim from just answer.
Judging by the many complaints no one seems to get
a refund. The financial authorities should shut this

Be cautious on how they would approach you as a customer. I ran into some network issue, and JustAnswer popped up after the Google search. It's a very intriguing new service to me, and its chatbot mentioned about $1 sign up fee, which I have no problem with just to explore what they do. But what their chat bot won't mention is that they will charge you $50 membership fee every month, at the moment you input the credit card.
I reached out to them immediately after my credit card app notified me for the $50 charge that I didn't notice, which apparently was hidden in the fine print. I reached out to cancel and ask for the refund, but they told me the "no refund" is hid in their terms and services fine print.
This business model had its potential. But their approach right now will not take them far. You will start seeing my negative reviews on the web!
