Home Depot review: defective quartz countertop case 15774233

On April 11th, 2018 we purchased a Silestone Quartz counter top through our Phillipsburg home depot Tim & Barb. It was installed by Home Depot subcontractor Eastern Surfaces Inc, 601 South 10th st, Allentown, Pa, 18103 PH: 610-266-3121 ext 2034 Kenya Palacios sometime in late April or early May of 2018. When they first came to install they cut out for the wrong size sink which delayed the installation. A few months after it was installed we noticed that there was a chip in the surface. We called and Eastern came out to repair it but it was not the best repair and you could still notice where the chip was. A few months later we had another chip which they came out to repair which also was not the best. Finally in June 2019 after a little over a year we noticed a third chip and called again but were told it would cost $250 for the repair after one year.

We then complained to Home Depot and Eastern Surfaces. On June 11th, 2019 took pictures of the chips and sent them to Eastern who in turn sent them to Silestone (Cosentino) 1-877-436-7482 for a warranty claim. We contacted Eastern and Home Depot Phillipsburg 4 times after submitting the pictures and finally on July 15th, 2019 Eastern surfaces sent us the Cosentino Manufacturers Warranty Claim approval (letter which was dated June 17th, 2019 informing that we had one year from date of letter to have the material replaced free of charge.

Once our warranty claim was approved we asked Home Depot and Eastern to refund us the purchase price of the counter which was $3, 391.01. We do not want to rip out the old counter since we have installed very expensive tile splash back, trim work and did not have faith in product. We explained that numerous times to Home Depot and Eastern to no avail. Last Friday I contacted Home depot customer care to explain all this to Abdul and was told I would have an answer by Monday. we are still waiting!
