Didn’t Repair, Caused more damage.
I need someone from corporate to get in touch win me ASAP about this issue. It started late May and dragged on until early August. First problem, I went online and was guided to make an appointment at my local Firestone close by. When I showed up at the facility, The person behind the counter was very rude and dismissive. When I told him I had made an appointment online, he stated that they didn’t do that(?). Then when I proceeded to tell him about a suspected leak, and that my car was running hotter than usual. He said they didn’t do checks, and basically just gave short, acute answers to all my questions. Not wanting to argue, I just left. The next day I called, made an appointment, and dropped my car off after explaining that I believe I had some sort of leak, and the temperature issue. A few days later I was told that I had my water pump had failed, and that my radiator fan was not working. Later that day, and $1400, I picked up my vehicle, and immediately noticed that my water gauge was leaning toward the hot side, which was exactly the reason I dropped it off in the first place, and I could smell coolant. I was headed out of town, so I parked the car for and traveled for a couple of weeks.
When I got back in the car, I noticed again that the gauge was still on the hot side. I drove it to see if it would right itself, but it never did. I took it back to Firestone for them to check it out. I was told that they could find nothing wrong. So reluctantly, I took my car back home, and barely used it because on
the way home, once again, the gauge stayed toward the hot side. Days later I had to use it to pick up a friend from the airport, which is 10 minutes from my house. On the way there, my gauge actually went fully to hot, twice on the way there, and twice on the way back. When I stopped, I could see smoke coming from my engine, and smell coolant. I took it back to firestone, and after about a few days later, I was told that I had a manifold Leak, but the person responsible for fixing those was on vacation, and so it would be a while before they could get to it. A week later, I was told that they recommended that I take it to the dealer, because the component needed to fix it was proprietary. When I asked why I needed to pay for another repair, when they worked on a leak that obviously got worse after they worked on it. And the same person that was rude last time, I think he’s a manager, explained away and made excuses as to why they wouldn’t honor their warranty and correctly repair my vehicle.
Thanks to their incompetence and inability to repair my vehicle, I had to take it to a dealer, and several weeks, and $7,000 later, I finally have my car back, but it still isn’t the same since before I turned it in to Firestone.
I fully expect Firestone to right their wrongs, repair my vehicle, and reimburse me for the extra expenses that their negligence incurred. I’m sending this to you directly, to give you a chance to right this wrong,
before I start reporting this incident to other entities. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
UPDATE: contacted them and they requested that someone come out and inspect the vehicle to determine if their negligence caused the problem. After explaining to them that I did as the repair shop suggested and took it from their shop to a ford dealer. This was his response.

This is unacceptable. Clearly the fact that they never repaired my car correctly in the first place, and that trained professionals couldn’t find an obvious leak, led to progression of the leak. I gave them a chance to correct this issue, now I will just keep reporting them until they honor their warranties and take responsibility for ruining my vehicle.
Desired outcome: reimbursement for all the repairs caused by their negligence. about $10,000
Town & Country Ford Corporate Offices
I took my vehicle in to have a manifold leak repaired, and for them to check my clutch since it seemed to have problems after being repaired. after a week I was told what the problems were, and that they were waiting on parts. The manager at that time promised to take care of me, and even negotiated a price decrease. 2 weeks after I dropped my car off, I went to pick it up, and it immediately wouldn't start. I turned the key, and everything just shut off. Michael, and the mechanic that worked on it, stated that that was odd, since they just pulled it out of the bay, and after it got started, he mentioned a vibration, maybe due to a motor mount. I thought all this was odd, since these problems were not present when I brought the car in, but they jumped the car off and I took it home, parked it, and went out of town for the weekend. I did notice that it rode pretty rough, clutch loose, and lots of vibration. When I got in it to get work on Monday. it did the same thing it did at the dealership. tried to turnover but didn't and made some kind of horrible noise. I called the dealership and explained to the mechanic and told him that it wouldn’t start. he immediately asked if that was the part they worked on. and then told me that I needed to get the car towed into the dealership to get it repaired. Several phone calls, later, I ended up having to get my car towed, at my own expense, to the dealership. later that day, received an estimate for almost $500 in more repairs. I needed my car, so I authorized it, fully intending to file this complaint after I got my car back. The next morning, I got a new invoice, telling me that now the cost for repairs would be close to $3,000.
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I was then told that the part that was needed wasn’t available, and they needed to order a used part, with no warranty, to compete the repairs, and it would take a week to arrive. At this point, I felt I had no choice but to do everything to get my car back, so again, begrudgingly, I authorized it. After not hearing from anyone for over a week, I called to check on my vehicle. I was transferred around, 3 times, and then just got hung up on. On Monday I finally received a call about the situation where I’m told that the part came in, and was unusable, so they had to order a new one. (why was ford using a used part, anyway?). So once again, I played the waiting game. A week later, I was told my car was finally ready. I went to pick it up, drove it to a gas station to fill up. Got back in it, and it wouldn’t start! IT DID THE SAME THING IT DID AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I PICKED IT UP THE FIRST TIME, AT MY APARTMENT, AND NOW, AFTER I PICKED IT UP FOR THE THIRD TIME! Not only would it not start, but it when I turned the key, everything shut off, so it’s obviously not just a battery/alternator problem. I immediately called the service department, but I didn’t get an answer. I asked the dealership about being able to bring it back and leaving it, and they said that I could. Myself, and 3 other people, including the owner of the gas station, tried several times to jumpstart it, with no success, once again, nothing turned on when I turned the key. I had to call AAA to bring a tow truck, who thought to try to jump it one more time, because he had a new $800 jump box.
We finally got it started and he followed me back to the dealership. Right before I turned it off, the car started acting very erratic, revving up and down, electronics cutting on and off, message center flashing different messages, etc. The next day I received a call from the service department, and they said that somehow the positive battery post had slipped off and was just sitting on the top. I’m 59 years old, have been driving since I was 14. I know when a battery cable is not on, and that alone wouldn't cause all the problems that I’ve been experience since I received my vehicle back, and I have 3 people who will testify to the fact that a loose battery post was not the problem. After picking up my vehicle for the 4th time, it started, but it starts rough, sounds like a truck, and runs horribly with a lot of vibration. When I dropped my car off those many weeks ago, (this entire process has taken almost 2 months!), I ONLY HAD A WATER LEAK!
This is ridiculous! Obviously, when I picked up my car the first time, it was not repaired. and if you warranty your work, why was this not warrantied? I took my vehicle to Ford fully aware it would be more expensive but at least the work would be warrantied and guaranteed. The then Manager, Michael, who I learned was terminated later on the day I picked my car up, told me that if there was any problem, just call back. (Maybe he was fired for being too nice!). If I had known that the total amount for repairs would surpass $7,000, I would have declined to have it repaired and use that money to purchase another vehicle. As of Today, I have spent over $7,000 in repairs, & $160 in towing, over $500 in rental car fees, and my car is still running worse than it was when I took it in.
At this point, I think my vehicle should be repaired correctly at minimal, or no cost to me, as I was not completely made aware of how much was needed.
I feel unsafe driving my vehicle right now, as it sounds like it’s about to break down again at any moment. I get severe anxiety every time I turn the key, fearing that I’ll be stuck again. Please respond to me as soon as possible,
I’m hoping this can be resolved quickly with you before reporting this to other entities.
Had tires put on chrome wheels and they put wheel weights on the face of my wheels
Took it back and asked them to fix the problem but said I didn’t tell them to not put weights on front face of wheels and acted like it was my fault because I didn’t tell them how to do there job when I drive truck it is unbalanced and shakes bad they were very unprofessional… I have a lot of business to send your way but I don’t feel like it was handled well at all

Took my car into the Speedway, IN site. They replaced my starter. $550.00.
Drove it home. Parked. One hour later went to Walmart/ Got back to the car and? Car wouldn't start. Same as before. After 20 minutes it finally started. I had called the store from the WM parking lot. While they offered a tow I was asked if I had okayed some sort of scan. NO. I was NEVER asked. The person I spoke with indicated it was all my fault. I drove my car back to the shop where for another $100 plus they "fixed" the car. I don't get more than 100 feet from the store when the "check engine" came on. Called the store and was told it wasn't their problem. None of the repairs "done" dealt with -the engine. Trips to two places came up with the same problem code, P0706 TRANSMISSION Ranger Sensor, A. Had they bothered to check the car to see if it would start multiple times, the non-starting issue was intermented. They were told this. They evidently only drove the car from the bay to the parking lot. Had they bothered to drive the car after the second "repair" they should have seen the "check engine" light. NOW? I am out $650 and have a car I'm afraid to drive. i also can not trust the garage to do anything to fix this,
Desired outcome: Fix my car. Obviously the starter was not the issue. I want a refund. I want my car fixed, for good.
Oil change - either miscommunication or intentional deception
On Thursday October 5, 2023, I contacted several Firestone shops to see what the best price was for an oil change.
I was quite surprised and amazed when the shop at - 1387 S STATE ROAD 7, NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL., said that I would get 50% off if I used my Firestone card. I said, wow or something similar, confirmed the price ($65) and was told that they had a special deal right now. I said that I would be there before they opened on Saturday morning.
I thought that $65 was not half of the usual price, but still was quite a discount.
When they opened the doors, I was first in line. They had my appointment on file and I commented that that was quite a deal that they were offering, the 50% off and the tech said that's for first time applicants for the card.
I just looked at him, dumb founded but sort of stuck as I had an important business trip on Monday and needed my car serviced.
I thought that perhaps there would be an adjustment but when the invoice appeared in my email it was for $91, the usual discounted price.
I waited until the service was complete and when I was claled up, I asked if there was going to be an adjustment made on my bill.
The tech/manager? said, What do you mean? I explained that when I booked the appointment I was told it would be %0 offf. He interrupted and said that, that was for new applicants. He asked if I had my card.
I pointed out to him that my service info and history were visible when I made the appointment and that I had been using my card many years.
I told him that I thought that it was (my bad) bull***t that they offered one price and then get the customer in the door and it's different. I told him that I had called several stores because the prices are all slightly different and was surprised by the offer.
He tossed my keys at me on the counter and told me to take my car and get out. He then said not to come back and if he sees me again we would have a problem.
I explained to him that I worked in law enforcement and if he needed to call someone, that he could go ahead.
I also shared that I would share my experience online and left the store.
In my entire life I have only filed 3 complaints online for service. Threatening a customer? Not owning the communication from the employee? Not making it right? The single most disappointing customer service experience I have ever had. It's not about the price - it was standard - it's about keeping your word or at least trying to understand making things right if there is a mix up.
As I sit here at home, I think their issuing me a new chip card might have confused the person I scheduled the appointment with. It is the only conclusion (and most generous interpretation) that I can come up with.
Regardless - other than in a normal tone of voice, but inappropriately saying b.s. (didn't help matters), I was not loud, threatening, or uncooperative. I just wanted to be treated fairly and like a valued customer.
Desired outcome: Alert customers to this concern. Take a teachable moment with the manager or whoever I dealt with at the counter. My skin is thicker than the implied threat but a less generous person might have helped him into a pair of handcuffs.
Battery service
Good morning, my name is Mr. Dennis Bernard Bates Jr. I'm also referred to in public as Mr. Southwestdriveindenpendent and I am the Creator and owner of Southwestdriveindenpendent Company which I started the company June of 2004 USA year. I pick my car up from dealership in St Paul and I have the new die hard battery that cost almost $400 a battery my car set for 4 months at that dealership in St Paul Minnesota and when I pick my car up the battery still started my car I dropped my car off at Golden valley Cadillac Golden valley Minnesota that's the old Saab dealership and the salesperson service advisor said that my battery needed to be replaced and I didn't think nothing of it I was like well damn they put in a AC Delco battery and then they did not return the core for the battery that I purchased from Firestone the new technology battery that doesn't have any fluid inside of the battery one of the mechanics took the battery home my DieHard battery and put it on the charger and their house caught on fire. A couple days ago I text message emailed general motors the Cadillac dealership and explain to them that either the service advisor or the mechanic made the wrong calculation as far as that particular battery being dead like I said when I drop the car off at Cadillac Golden valley Cadillac when I drop the car off there after my car set for 4 months not even running the car not driving the car the battery still started my car sat around for 4 months from January 26th till about April and then April 2023 USA year and then someone at the dealership told that both face lie just to take the $400 battery for themselves now someone's house burned down because they tried to charge the battery when they were supposed to turn the battery in to core for the core payment and then Golden valley Cadillac dealership with a ship the battery out to the proper disposal place to make the determination to put the battery back on the shelf at Firestone because that's the new technology DieHard battery that doesn't have any battery fluid at all. Now I have to purchase another battery and they're trying to complain and steal from Firestone and try to say don't sell the battery anymore because somebody stole the battery from me then tried to put it on the battery charger from Golden valley Cadillac dealership one of the mechanics took the battery home and now their house is on fire they're at the hotel right now because their house burned down.
Desired outcome: Desire outcome I would like to purchase the battery again once I get my car out the shop again.
Alternator and battery
On 08/10/2033, while on my way to work, I filled my car up with gas and proceeded to leave, however my car had no power, I paid a service to come give me a jump off and proceeded to Firestone @5101 W Colonial Drive, Orlando Fl 32808 because two weeks earlier I had purchased a battery because that's what I was told I needed to buy. I got there and they took...

Today my son took my vehicle to the Firestone location in Lombard Illinois. I needed to see if my bearings needed to be replaced. The person working there said they were done after putting my car up and pulling/shaking the tire. Seems a little rudamentary tear to tell me the wheel bearings were “fine”. He then told my son I needed new tires. The tires are 3 years old and purchased from that location. I asked my son to ask how many miles I have on those tires as the mileage is recorded when the tires are put on. The person told him that would take too long to do. My son left. I then read the list of recommendations and it said wheel bearings are recommend. I am disappointed with this service and the lack of care taken.
Desired outcome: Follow up call and doscuasion with store. [protected]
Damaged engine during fuel injection and intake manifold service
Did you know that Firestone shops can severely damage your vehicle and not pay for it? I was a Firestone customer for about 10 yrs and a credit card holder. Both parties acknowledged "debris" had fallen in my engine area...

Hello I would like to know what has happened to Firestone? It used to be my favorite place to get things done to my truck. I was there yesterday to get a tire changed yesterday. The guys behind the counter ( older man) was so rude and told me he didn’t show I had an appointment. The time before that I went to get an oil change and the same old man I think his name was David was very rude then so bad he ran me off. So I will not return to Firestone. Please do something about this. You will loose more customers.

Air compressor
I brought my Van to Firestone on July 17 2023 because my A/C was cutting off and on. They recommended a new Compressor. It has cut off again. I spent $700 plus for the Compressor plus 4 new tires from them at the time. Firestone recommended the Compressor after I reported what my problem was, Now Firestone is saying I have to pay for another diagnostic that is total BS! I brought my Vehicle in on July 17 2023 to check why my A/C would cut on and off. You recommended a I spent $700 plus for the Compressor. (And 4 new tires from Firestone at the time.) The store is saying I have to pay for another diagnostic which I feel is BS im having the same issue as I brought it in with.
Desired outcome: I need it diagnosed and fixed right. Same problem as when I took it in on July 17 2023.
What you're stating is what their so-called Triple Promise Guarantee is supposed to cover. "We promise that the services we perform will be fixed right the first time. If the automotive repair or service was performed improperly, then we will re-perform the service at no additional charge to you, during the established warranty period." Start by complaining to their regional manager. Firestone's main customer service line should be able to send he/she a message to contact you, so you're not dealing with people at the store level. The Store Mangers typically brush off any complaints. Good luck!
Failed oil change
I scheduled appointment with Firestone on September 7,2023 for a oil change. When I arrived the next morning there was no appointment booked so the man "squeezed me in". After picking up my car I noticed 2 hours later my car began to skip. As the day went on around 5:00pm my car stalled, cut off in middle of road and began to start smoking. I immediately called them and I drove my car back to them. The guy checked my oil and said "it looks like no oil in here" then he checked again and said "oh there it goes". I left my vehicle overnight and the next morning I received a call from the technician saying nothing was wrong with my car and that it would be $104 for diagnostics. I became livid. So as of now I plan on pursuing a lawyer.
