I bought a used truck with a rebuilt motor that had 125 miles on it. After switching batteries, the check engine light came on. I took it to a shop, and when I arrived, the light went out. The mechanic said he could check it and claimed it was a faulty sensor. I told him to replace it. Later, he called to say it was ready, but immediately called back to say the spark plugs were no good. However, they were brand new, and there was nothing wrong with them. He was trying to charge me $240 for unnecessary work. Frustrated, I took my car to another mechanic. He removed the sensor they had installed and put the old one back in, confirming that there was nothing wrong with it. He charged me $145 for something that never needed fixing. It was clear that he was trying to take advantage of a woman on a fixed income, and that is just plain wrong. Their business should be shut down for being scammers and liars. They charged me $35 for a part that cost $25 and an additional $100 for unnecessary labor. It's truly disappointing.

I went to Daisy Tires Corp to fix my Mercedes. They quoted me $1200 and said it would be done in a week, back in February. The owner asked me to fill out a text message to check my available credit. I told him I would pay with my tax refund. However, the car wasn't finished on time and they kept adding more charges. They even wanted to buy a used engine for a $20 part that they claimed wasn't available in the USA.
When I finally picked up the car, the timing was so bad that I immediately turned around and brought it back. The owner said it was low on gas, so I filled it up, but the same issue persisted. I returned the car again and he told me to give it a couple of days. To cut a long story short, the car was sent back three times and still couldn't be driven.
I filed a complaint with the Bar Association in CA, and the owner agreed to remove his parts and put the old ones back on, as well as refund my money. However, when the two weeks were up and it was time for him to do this, he decided not to fulfill his part. The Bar Association had already closed the case.
To make matters worse, when I paid $50, he sold my banking information and bank card to a lease company. They have been deducting $267.47 from my account every two weeks. I tried to stop the payment, but they still managed to go through my bank card. I am currently working with the fraud department to resolve this issue.
The Acima credit company is a scam. I never signed any paperwork or provided identification for a loan agreement. My car is still parked on the side yard. It was meant to be a family car for my 16-year-old son, but now it's just sitting there. I had to rent cars throughout this whole ordeal, and Daisy Tires refuses to make things right. My car actually ran better before I took it to this shop, and I'm extremely frustrated with everything that has happened.
