Sonic Drive-In infustation

This Sonic on white lane and ashe has a real bad cockroach problem. Don't go into the bathrooms or they will get you. If you eat outside your car on the tables later in the day they take over. Hope this message reaches the right people because the people there don't seem to care. I have heard they are inside the kitchen also, but have never been seen on the prep table.

Since you posted this complaint. This Sonic was closed for two days to get rid of roaches. The board of health gave them back there ( A ) raiting. The roaches are still there. They have had it sprayed 3 times since and the roaches still return. Wonder if the health dept really cares or this is normal business for them.

Sonic Drive-In - charged twice

I ordered and PAID with a gift card (not Sonics) but when my order was brought I was told they just needed to see my card and no additional charges would be made (dumb i know). When I checked my card the next day i saw two charges from Sonics... my original and another LARGER price. I called corporate and filed a report and told someone would follow up with...

Sonic Drive-In bad management!

I used to work at Sonic in Jennings, La. Due to the uncontrollable behavior of the bosses daughter, I no longer work there. The young girl screams and hollers at employees and to holler back or defend yourself is going to get you fired by her dad who runs the whole place. She has no respect for anyone especially the older employees. She isn't in management but plays as if she is. She doesn't know how to talk to people and makes them cry. I doubt corporate knows of this behavior because I don't think it would be tolerated. But no one is going to tell because some really need their jobs. They need someone to speak up for those girls and get her out of there or get her under control. If she were my daughter, she would be bent over my knee for a good whipping. But then my kids are taught respect. If there is anyone willing to speak up for these employees, they could use it. If you are a past employee of the Jennings Location, my apologies if you were one of the ones terminated for putting her in her place where she belongs.

Sonic Drive-In questionable practice @ local Sonic

this is a new resturant and i have visited 3 times in last 2 weeks as a drive-thru customer..i have only purchased 20 oz Java Chillers. i had not really paid attention to price, and the fact that i never received a receipt...however today May 8 2008 i stopped and purchased a 20 oz Java Chiller ( $ 2.99 on menu board )
i was told " that will be $ 3.18 at window " when i arrived @ window, i ask why was there tax on take out order? girl told me thete is NO tax on take-out...i questioned her of amount ( $ 3.18 ) when drink is $ 2.99...she said " ok just give me $ 2.99, which i did...i asked for receipt, she said she had to keep it ?
there is something that SMELLS here! is the employee charging all drive-thru orders tax and ringing up without tax and POCKETING the change? this would be a nice little BONUS for the employees @ expense of customers..as of today, I WILL NOT VISIT SONIC . i would hope that owner doesn't condone this practice. Please investigate this store...Store # 5873 located @ 1754 US rt 36, Urbana, Ohio Thank you

Sonic Drive-In they don't clean drink and ice machines

I have gone to Sonic for food and drinks for years. Lately I have been getting "slime" in my cup. Everyday I stop while I'm out to get and ice tea with extra ice. Twice just recently I have been getting all the way to the end of my drink and see something dark at the bottom. It is SLIME! What is it doing in our drinks? Better still, what is it doing in your machines Sonic? Isn't there health laws you are suppose to abide by? Are you an exceptions or something. If you want customers to stay with you then you better get with it. CLEAN YOUR STORE from ceiling to floor and don't leave any machines not cleaned thoroughly. Your drive ins are disgusting. Clean up your act.

Sonic Drive-In overcharging!

Okay, so I try to pull into the donut place this morning, and there is a line 4 cars deep. No time, on the way to work. I pull back out onto the road and pass a Sonic, and I think, "hmmm. I remember seeing these cinnamon rolly things on TV. Maybe this would be a good time to try them. I have two dollars on me. I pull into the place and order a large order. She tells me that will be a few pennies away from three dollars. I'm thinking, my goodness, three bucks would have bought six donuts, so this must be a large order. I can share them with co-workers. The girls hands me this bag and when I got to work, there is a small package of five of these little one inch long biscuit things. What a rip off!

The entire order shouldn't have been more than a buck! Never again!

Sonic Drive-In - charge for water!

My wife and I were eating there and she had a water with her meal. She finished her water and wanted some more. Being the nice guy that I am, I got out of my truck and brought inside my wifes cup for a refill on water. Some little punk under age supervisor told me he would not refill my wifes cup with water and told me to go back to my car. I said I still...

Sonic Drive-In bad management!

I am an current employee at sonic drive in and i am having trouble with some one using my employee number to make employee tickets and they have racked my bill up to $160.00 and i have made a complaint about it but unfortunately i have no proof that it was not me the thing is though you have to sign the receipts. I have not had to sign a single damn receipt since i have worked there. I can not eat fast food due to two severe ulcers. They are so bad that if i eat just hint of oil or spicy foods they start to bleed and i have already brought in a doctors note pertaining to my medical problem but they still insist i sat there and ate a hundred and sixty dollars worth the food (that could kill me) in two weeks. Sonic has a very bad system i mean all the managers have our information and there should only be certain really i am portal people with that kind of very important information. They need a higher and more secure system.

Sonic Drive-In terrible service!

Did you know that if you travel from Liberal Ks to Oklahoma City OK that if you stop at a sonic there are no restrooms? Did you know that they set there clocks ahead so if you get there right before happy hour ends and you place your order they will tell you the happy hour price and then bring out your order and tell you that you placed it after 4. Quote "if we set our clocks to everyone we would be in trouble" Even though the corporate office is set for the correct time. My sprint phone has always been set to the correct time no matter where you go. But according to the sonic in liberal kansas it is 5 minutes to slow. The service is to slow. The order is most of the time incorrect. The people need to speak more clearly and they do not. One day had to wait 10 minutes for one soda. Trash can is always full so there is no where to throw your food wrappers. It is just too bad that you can not get good service anymore. I have been there many time and heard many many complaints when people are just make their orders. This will be something as simple as easy ice.

They do not know what easy ice is.

11/29/14 Pulled into a bay, ordered 2 Blasts and a milk shake. After 15 minutes, if I hadn't already paid with my debit card, I would have left. I pushed the order button to ask if there was a problem. No one ever answered me. They were not that busy. It took almost 20 minutes to get this order. The milk shake was thick ice cream, absolutely no way was it coming through a straw. Supposed to be caramel, never tasted anything but vanilla. Would have been great if I wanted ice cream. I did not, wanted a smooth shake. I stop at this location very often. It is our go-to location. Most of the time I have good service. Not today. Needless to say, this little gal did NOT get a tip. Even though I know it wasn't her fault, I was very dissatisfied. And this causes me to not give them any of my business for a while.

Sonic Drive-In food

I was so disappointed in the food at the Sonic #3359 located at 1437 FM 1960 Road West [[protected]].

The fries were undercooked.
The gravy was so watered down none of it stayed on the chicken.
I just had to eat it with ketchup which they didn't give me any at all. I forgot, one has to ASK for little packets of ketchup or they won't give you any!

I did not feel like driving all the way back there when i finally got home.
Now, I'm regretting it because they deserve to know that I am a very unsatisfied customer and of course you can't leave a complaint at the site!

i don't know why i torture myself over and over again. tonite i went to sonic for my grandson and myself. no complicated orders just plain hamburger fries and kids meal grilled cheese with fries.
the fries were so bitter and cold we couldn't eat them. the grilled cheese was also bitter...don't you ever change the grease in your stores. if this had just happened once and at one store i could dismiss it even though i paid for the food i could not eat, but its every times pick a store it doesn't matter. i give up now i won't go back for sure. oh, the service was good though for the first time at this store. what a laugh we are all so used to getting bad food and service we don't even complain anymore. this is the first time i have complained and it will for sure be the last

Sonic Drive-In Unhappy

I ordered some cheesecake bites and they are nothing like the pretty picture makes them look like. It says nothing in the promo about the baited being deep fried. Whose idea was this? Cheesecake bites are supposed to be cold not hot. I thought i was eating a big chicken nugget. I was very upset when i got these disgusting things. Sonic should make a new promo ad because that is fraud. They were deep fried in the same oil as the chicken and fries.. Please sonic DONT DEEP FRY THE CHEESECAKE, it's not normal.

The Sonic Cheesecake bites are such a rip-off! It was $2.10 for THREE bites of nasty tasting stuff that inedible. My kids even spit them out. My son says " Don't ever eat them, they'll always be crappy!" We were so disappointed in Sonic for the rediculous price and the horrible excuse of a snack. Sonic should be ashamed.

Terrible service. The employees who work here are unfriendly and unprofessional. The restaurant was clearly open when I pulled into the drive-in. There were several cars that had ordered food. As I was placing my order the employees turned off the lights and said the place was closed for the evening. I drove off but noticed that the drive-thru was still open. What terrible employees. How hard is it to take one more order or have the decency to direct me to the drive-thru? This place has lost my business.

Sonic Drive-In service unsatisfactory / manager dismiss complaint

I am deeply disturbed about an incident that occurred at the Deridder La. Sonic Drive in. I ordered food and a drink which I did receive. The following day I was informed by a Sonic member in training that she heard the person who took my order say to another Sonic member that she was going to f--- my drink up. I immediately contacted the manager on duty(Mike) about this disturbing news and his response to me was ' the Sonic members in question had been with them for a long time and he could not believe they would do this.

This issue is not about the type of worker's they are for him, the issue is about me as a paying customer should be able to go to any public eating establishment and order any thing off the menu that I can afford to pay for and not have to wonder if my food or drink has been tampered with. The issue is about my being reassured by the manager on duty that 'if this occurred", the matter would be looked into and that I would be assured this would never happen again, but none of this was done on my behalf. I was not even offered a free drink the next time I ordered, although there will never be a next time.I am outraged even more because the manager 'informed the Sonic members in question that a Catrina Blake called and said they tampered with her drink. To me, this is very unprofessional because by disclosing my name to his worker's, it only opened up a can of worms between myself and those worker's. Manager's lead by example, or they suppose to, and this manager does not demand from those worker's the satisfactory service to the public that they are suppose to display. There is a history of personal events surrounding myself and the member's in question, but I know without a doubt that these feelings have no place in the workplace. Something has to be done about this because I refuse to lay down and let this thing go because they(the member's in question)have worked for (Mike) the manager a long time."

I would like to leave a complaint on a manager at the Ocean Springs, Ms Sonic (Christy).. I have just found out that she has been bringing her child to work with her.. Im am sure that would be against their rules.. It also seems like that would be neglet since she is getting paid to work and would not be properly able to watch her child..

Well Pierce, I hate to break it to you, but the official coupons do have it written on them at the bottom. It says "Not valid in conjunction with any other offer". That would include combo purchases. For instance, if you had a Buy One, Get One Free Regular Sonic Burger coupon, the burger you pay for cannot be used towards a combo when you use the coupon. It has been this way for many years. Some managers make an exception there. However, Sonic technically doesn't permit it. Also, the coupons say "Valid only a participating locations" meaning they can deny the coupon at any time for any reason. Lastly, who in the world considers any type of hotdog (even a coney) a sandwich?

Definitions from www.merriam-webster.com-
Sandwich: two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between
Hotdog: frank heated and served in a long split roll

Lay off the employees dude. At least they are working and not using your tax dollars to buy their groceries.

I want to file my own complaint about a Sonic in Augusta, GA. Friday I went to the one on Mike Padgett Highway. The people there told me that I could not use a coupon in conjunction with another coupon. If that is the case, it needs to be written on the coupon. I tried to order a free onion with a buy one get one free coney dog. I have been able to do this in the past but now I am told that I cannot do this. I have complained about the service at this particular restaurant before. The cashier told me that this coupon could not be used on top of another coupon and that a coney dog is not a sandwich. If it is on bread it is a sandwich no matter what category your menu has it listed under. She also told me that they are under new management and that the old manager would let you do that but the new manager would not. I had also order a hamburger for my daughter. The lettuce was wilted and fell out of the bun when she was eating it. Also, I paid for the onion rings that I wanted with the coney dog. I got 5 onion rings for over $2.oo. I can buy an onion and the mix to make onion rings for that much. I have a nephew who worked at another sonic location who was let go because he wasn't "fast enough". Everyone who were high school students were let go for the same reason. The only kept on was a high school drop out who could work whatever hours they needed him. If this is the requirement for being hired, then there should not be anyone there at all.

Houston, TX 8600 Block of Westheimer.

The service was unprofessional, slow...and I drove off waiting after 14 minutes. I ordered 2 grape Route 44 Slushes----AND THERE WER ONLY 2 CARS IN THE PARKING LOT. I buzzed in to re-order and some guy talking really really fast confirmed he had my order...then he hung up the speakerphone. I drove off.
This location is slow--dirty and that was my second visit. The prior visit I orderd the same but the slushes were drink consistency. I wanted the THICKER slush consitency, not the drink--which I think they made. The guy argued they were the slushes. I didnt agree. I asked for a credit and it took them 20 mnutes to do that. I'll never there again. I hope they change personnel.

You guys need to worry more about tipping these poor girls and filing complaints either with 1 800 number or with the management. If youd dont like the food dont eat there. If you have a bad experience dont leave without having it corrected.

The manager at the Jennings, La location always fixes the mess ups and tries so hard to make up for the mess ups. But you guys blame the car hops and there is a turn over because they work for tips. If you dont tip them, of course they will quit. I would too. The manager is too nice to fire anyone. Thats the reason for the turn over. If you cant afford to tip the car hops go to McDonalds or Burger King or somewhere that the employees dont work for tips. They walk all day to many many cars, giving you good service, they dont make the orders but get them out to you as soon as they are available to be delivered and you sip your drinks and cram your faces while they are still walking trying to make tips and get not even a dime from more than half the people that get a good meal and good service. SHAME ON YOU! At least they are holding a job and not living off the goverment...or maybe they are because you cant scrounge a dime or at times even a few pennies to tip them. TSK TSK TSK. America is over weight but thanks to you all, the car hops at Sonic remain thin. The less you tip, the thinner they get. LOL...start tipping.

I am so sorry that you guys have had such a bad experience with sonics and sonic employees. I have worked at sonics off and on for 8 years, (mainly a part time job to supplement my income) the sonics that i have worked at have always been of the upmost caliber and treat their customers with nothing but respect. In the stores I have been in we strive for excellent customer service, I know my regulars by name, and if orders do take a long time because we have a crazy rush I make sure that they are compensated. Again I am so sorry!

I agree with everyone. The sonic here is awful. I don't even eat the food anymore. It takes them 20 minutes just to take the order. I used to go get drinks and the last time I went I ordered a Java chiller. When they brought it out it was so melted that it was like drinking melted ice cream. They didn't evn bother to put whip cream on the top. It tasted terrible. I am never going back!

Sonic Drive-In highest level of discourtesy

10-03-2007 5:30 PM: My mother and I drove into the Sonic stall to order. We were unfamiliar with the menu and buzzed to ask questions. Worker 1 answered our questions and asked if we would like some more time, I said yes.

Once we decided what to order, Worker 2 “Mickey” (girl) took our order. When I asked what size of drink was the “Sonic Size” she said “large”. I asked again with an example of what I was inquiring about (i.e. 32oz or 44oz) and she repeated in a louder voice “LARGE”. I just accepted that as the ‘size’ and tried to finish ordering. Mid way in the order I asked another question and she didn’t answer. I then decided to have her repeat what I had ordered thus far. Once she repeated the partial order I said “I would also like…” and she talked over me with the price of the partial order. I then repeated, “I would like to finish the order.” and got no reply. When I buzzed again, she came back on and said “I GOT THE ORDER ALREADY!”

I then entered the store and asked whom was the lady that took my order. “Mickey” roller skated up to me and with her face being 2” from mine said “I did!” I proceeded to tell her that I was not finished and what she did was rude. Her reply was “I’m do busy for this $#it!” and skated off. I asked to speak to the manager and requested the number of the franchisee owner and the corporate office. He handed me what I asked for and I returned to my vehicle.

Worker 1 came out with my food and apologized for Worker 2’s attitude. I then asked if she was always like that of which she replied, “Most of the time. But no one has ever come in to complain.”

Bottom line: My mother and I did not deserve to be addressed as we were over the speaker. I did not deserve to be talked to the way I was by “Mickey” within the store. At this point, I will never patronize this Sonic store again! May I suggest ‘customer service’ training along with spot checks with ‘secret shoppers’ to keep score of how your customers are treated.

That was rotten how she done that. The carhop that is.

Yes working any restaurant is stressful. You come for food not for some kids attitude.

As a Chef I can tell you not all are cut out for the pressure of food service. I've faced tough critics, customers, heck even my wife :D. But I didn't take it out on my guest. Instead I become nicer. Just smile and go back and take out my sharp knives and chop onions. (Good excuse to cry :D)

No guest should be treated rudely. Sometimes you have to be firm, but it can be done with kindness.

Not all Sonic crew members are rude. I worked with some back in the '90's when I was in high school that was really polite and professional. Please don't let this spoil your attitude about all Sonic's Drive Ins.

I worked at a sonic for a year and half. At the sonic I worked at, treating any customer even remotely like that was grounds for immediate termination. The job was relatively stress free I might add. It was there for all of us, but it was never that bad. And my local sonic (not the one I worked at) screws up my order nearly every time I go there. Just depends on the sonic, and whether or not the people who are taking your order are willing to do their job.

I have worked in a fast food restaurant and I do know the stress it can cause. People are hungry and want food right away. If you are having a bad day STAY HOME. If you can't handle simple customer service STAY HOME. People want to order food and they can choose where to spend their money. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT! No matter what. Sounds like "MICKY" needs more training. If she can't handle simple orders she should be fired. The restraunt business is very demanding and it sounds like she can't hang. Customers don't care about your problems they just want their food minus the tude.

Not only is she angry with the fast food industry employees, she decides not to tip either. I sure hope she never comes to any restaurant I work at and sit at my table. If I look at her wrong she may not leave me a tip. Geez, the person kept a few pennies from her change - why is that a big deal, you should be tipping anyway. But your solution - just stop tipping?!? Nice! After that I'll call the kids stupid. You gotta love some folks I tell ya.

Well Tracy, what I'm trying to figure out is what was need of prancing into the restaurant and demanding to know who the person was who took your order. To me that sounds combative. What were the plans, once you found out who it was, belt them?!?!? People in the fast food industry are here to serve, furthermore you do not pay their salary, the company and uncle sam does. Just because you've had an unpleasurable experience at the restaurant doesn't mean everyone does, so 1 less customer won't hurt any, there's always 10 more waiting in line. Maybe you should calm down and take a Xanax for your anxiety.

Fast food employees just like you are the reasons I hate Sonic. There is no lobby! It's an outdoor eating area. The menus on both sides of the vehicle are confusing. The speakers never work well, they never get the order right, we never get condiments (I've had to go inside where it says employees only) to get ketchup. We are even ripped off of our change from our orders, so I quit giving tips. Let the guy or girl (no roller skates where I am) keep the nickle - saves me .45 to 1.00 for their tip.

If Sonic would put small medium and large under all their drinks, maybe we wouldn't ask "dumb" questions.

I worked in several fast food restaurants and the stress you mention is just not there. Simply put, you create your own stresses if you are stressed. You kids just have too much time on your hands and don't have the right attitude to wait on people, so go get a better education and get out. Customers pay your salaries not the other way around. Without "slow" customers who ask "dumb" questions, you would not have a job. Stupidity is rampant among the kids today.

Those of you who have never worked a day in your life at a fast food restaurant have no clue how stressful it can actually get. Especially when you have customers harping down your throats about how 'this happens every time' (even though it doesn't, they just want to complain), and they sit there for minutes trying to decide what they want. That's why there are stalls and a lobby, so you can stand there and figure out what you want so the employees don't have to wait on you to make up your mind. Granted, 'Mickey' should not have been that rude, but you should also have the common sense to know that a sonic size is rather large.

And to Rachael: Just because it's being advertised, doesn't mean it's going to be in your town. Commercials are broadcast throughout a selected to every customer based on that televisions schedule. So, if you see that commercial at 4:15 PM, everyone in your selected area that is watching that same exact channel is also going to see that exact commercial. So, which ever one of those selected areas you happen to live in obviously did have a sonic. Even if it was 88 miles away.

Not every Sonic has rude and hateful employees. I'm actually really nice to customers. Some of them piss me off too though because they do take forever or they do ask the most ignorant question. So, if an employees does happen to be rude to you, maybe you should ask yourself if you are taking your sweet time to order or maybe if you just asked a completely dumb question. Look at the menu before you start freaking out on employees. That's what it's there for.

Sonic Drive-In Special offer is not special

To whom it may concern:

On [protected] I purchased an order for hamburgers at the sonic restaurant located at 3510 Roosevelt Ave San Antonio Tx. Where a sign was posted stating that on tuesdays all day hamburgers would be sold at half price. I did not receive the discount. Enclosed is a copy of the receipt. I was very disappointed, since i do like sonic burgers very much. I dont want to stop doing business with sonic, but i just really was looking forward to the discount. Thank You for your time and I'm looking forward to doing business with sonic in the near future... Sincerely... Edward Gelson.

The store in Texas, Dickinson Hwy 517, does not post their hours . I do love the burgers but and ready to go to Whataburger or McDonald for my burgers. I went about 2 weeks ago and asked for a #2 and ended up with burgers with no veggies. You have a problem with the people you sell frans. to for are making sonic have a bad name. Your ad 24/7 but I went tonight at 10:15 to get 5 for 5 and they were closed. With no posting of their hours I would pull their frans. for they are giving Sonic a bad name.

hi i would like to make a complaint about a general manager at the sonic my wife works at. My wife has worked at sonic in cedar park for a few years now and has recently started school in San Antonio she works at the sonic at Dezavala and I-10 the general managers name is Tracy. she always comes home complaining about how rude Tracy is to everyone there telling the employees if they will not roller skate then they need to run she snaps at employees she is just really rude and demeaning to people. My wife has done plenty for sonic in the past and does not deserve to be treated like this neither does any other sonic employees.

Thanks,
Kevin.

Sonic Drive-In $8 for order I finally threw out

Sonic Drive-in, Lake of the Woods exit, Columbia, MO. My husband ran to Sonic and brought home our late night dinner, a few months ago. No surprise! The order was wrong, he e-mailed the corporate office and we got no reply. A few weeks ago I called the office, they were going to have someone return my call. No reply. A week later I called the corporate office and I was assured I would get a call back in a reasonable amount of time. Guess what, no call back. So I called and asked for a manager, I think the extension was 446, I left him a message and did let him know that I haven't had any calls returned and I would expect he probably wouldn't bother either. I was right no phone call. They owe us $8 and some change for the order that I finally threw out.

Thank you,
Diane Epstein

wow! after reading the previous post, i can gaurantee i will NEVER visit a sonic again! first of all, you dont EVER talk to customers that way. second, after my friend starting work at a sonic recently they actually got MAD at her for washing her hands after handling raw chicken. I personally worked for a sonic for an hour once, but after the manager asked if he could watch me change clothes and grabbed a coworker's breasts, i walked out. In my opinion, sonic seems to be a dirty, lazy terrible company, especially in columbia missouri! and i have copied and sent your post along with your name to the sonic corporate office. i think they should know the level of maturity they have working for them.

FIRST OFF, YOU SHOULD NEVER RUN TO THE CORP. OFFICE, DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE DO THAT? DO YOU THINK YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE? THE FIRST THING YOU NEED TO DO IS GO TO THE SONIC YOU PLACED YOUR ORDER AT. (GO MEET THEM, FACE-TO-FACE) FORGET ALL THESE DAMN EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS, YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE CALLING. & SECONDLY, PERHAPS WHOEVER WENT TO SONIC TO PLACE THE ORDER DIDNT KNOW HOW TO ORDER CORRECTLY. JUST SO YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU ORDER A BURGER AT SONIC. ALWAYS, START OFF BY SAYING I WANT A... CHOSE ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING: "MAYO, MUST OR KETCHUP"...NEXT SAY "WITH CHEESE" OR "WITHOUT CHEESE" ...AFTER THAT SAY " WITH/WITHOUT ONIONS, LETTUCE, PICKLES OR TOMATOES"... WE AREN'T LIKE ANY OTHER RESTAURANT THAT AUTOMATICALLY PUT MAYO & MUSTARD. WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU WANT IN IT. WE'RE NOT PSYCHIC. SO DON'T START ORDERING BY SAYING... " I WANT A HAMBURGER WITH NO ONIONS NO BLAH BLAH BLAH..." BECAUSE WE HAVE TO MEMORIZE ALL THAT YOU HAVE SAID AFTER "HAMBURGER" THEN INTERRUPT YOU BY SAYING " MAYO, MUST, OR KET?"... SOUND FAMILIAR? & TO BE HONEST, SOME OF US WORKING THERE AREN'T SMART ENOUGH TO MEMORIZE. THIS IS JUST A "LET YOU KNOW" AND I'M DAMN SURE 95% OF THE TIME, YOUR BURGER WILL BE MADE CORRECTLY.

... IF YOU DIDNT ORDER A BURGER, IM SORRY. BUT WHEN YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER, 90% OF THE TIME, THEY WILL REPEAT IT BACK TO YOU, OR YOU CAN EVEN ASK THEM TO DO SO. IF YOU JUST SAY "YES, THAT YOUR ORDER IS CORRECT" AND NOT EVEN BOTHER LISTENING WHEN THEY'RE READING IT BACK TO YOU, THEN ITS YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT... OKAY?

Sonic Drive-In poor quality food!

I ordered a Chicken club toaster from the sonic in Aztec New Mexico and halfway through eating it I noticed that only the outer edge was cooked, the rest was completely raw, in fact my husband said it looked transparent! When I called to tell them the manager Monica offered to replace my sandwich (yeah right) or give me a store credit, but I told I would not be returning she then asked what I wanted her to do about it and I said I just figured I would tell her so she didn't keep putting them out and that was the extent of the conversation. I have kept the sandwich however just in case I get sick...

Sonic Drive-In vulgar managmet

Until about 2 weeks ago my minor child was employed at a location in Plano Texas. This location is owned by dennis clark. There is an employee at this location in management "she is a crew leader" she believes it is ok as she sees this behavior from her manager to yell, scream, and cuss at the associates under her. When my son informed me of this behavior I approached the ast manager and asked him to please inform the crew leader in question this behavior was not acceptable. The result the behavior grew worse. Since the store manager was on vacation we contacted the dm. We had a meeting with the dm who informed us the crew leader admitted her behavior and was told that behavior was not to continue.

The next day my son was written up twice for things that 2 weeks before by the very crew leader he complained about. When the manager returned he was fired. I have tried on numerous occasions to speak with someone higher up the chain but Dennis Clark refuses to return my call. But wait it gets better. I went to pick up my sons check .When the manager handed me the check asked her to please let her crew leader know that coming to my job and telling lies about me to management would not do her any good and to please ask her to stop "she was there in sonic uniform" The manager "I have no control over her". I informer her I would be filing complaints against her, the crew leader and sonic corp with the eeoc and the labor board. As i walked to my car "by the way i have this recorded" she turned to an elderly couple and said "I fireedf her son he had 3 write ups when I got back what was I supposed to do?" She had no right to tell anyone about that. And by thew way the crew leader who yells screams and cusses and admits her behavior to the dm still has a job. So beware people this is how sonic drive in treats its employees.

I want to speak to the owner of this location.

Just recently I was informed that sonic was going to stop selling popcorn chicken. I believe this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I am a former employee of sonic in Plano, TX and I know firsthand how much popcorn chicken they sell. For them to even consider getting rid of their popcorn chicken is ridiculous. I think someone needs to step in and stop this from happening. I believe that if enough people agree to this then they will keep the popcorn chicken. So if you are a popcorn chicken love like I am the stand up and let your voice be heard. Denis clack will not take our popcorn chicken from us!

The franchise owned by Dennis Clark has a history of rewarding bad behavior. I have personal knowledge of managers who have been re-hired after they were dismissed for theft and for sexual harrassment. It is a running joke among the managers that the only way to get fired is to "kill someone" but that you would probably get re-hired soon anyway. There are some good store managers but they don't usually stay around for long because they can't stand the negative environment.

Hacked off in Texas
Sherman, US
Jan 11, 2009 9:57 pm EST

Looks to me like this is happening in ALL of the Sonics. In Sherman, Texas, at the Town Center location, they allowed a 17 year old girl still in high school to become an assistant manager and turned over the evening shift to her. Since then, the problems have escalated. I have three adult children working at this location, and two of them on this particular shift. This girl is black, and has begun making comments about how she hates whites, and that there should be more "N"s there, and has begun an all out attack on my kids. She yells, screams, cusses and gets in their faces on a daily basis. She has recruited one of the cooks at night (a young black boy) to join her in her abuse. They have called my daughter a "ho" and a "b***h", among other vulgar words. She gives away food on a nightly basis, and pockets the money from other food orders that come in. When the matter was brought to the attention of one of the co-owners, he called the ones making the complaints liars, and took the other girl's side. What does it take to get Sonic corporation to get a grip on their franchises, and make sure they are run the way a professional corporation should be run? The situation in Sherman is going to come down to a white/black riot if something is not done. Even the threat of a lawsuit does nothing to wake these idiots up!

i am a current employee at sonic every since i was 16 i was a manager and had to move i move into a town in ky. and started to carhop as i had manager skills i know what people are doing when they recall tickets i myself never done it but i have cought people doing it what they do is have the carhop scan the order take it out and the customers complain they usually get free food the manager waits til the carhop counts down and leave then recalls ticket and while still having the carhops money cancels the ticket and takes money every sonic i have worked at has done this i really hate it i just dont know who else i should tell especially when the general managers doing it. what else i just got off work not to long ago when earlier i made over 60$ i know i did in tips i usually keep it seperate we had a complaint on a 30$ order well the customer didnt pay the ticket wasnt cancelled and i had to pay that out of my tips which brought me to interest that the managers is pocketing what money i made out of hard work.

I was not completely aware of the ordinance regarding such but there was no info posted anywhere except a no-smoking sign the ended up pointing out to me. an employee began yelling at me when i questioned his demands and he ended up personally insulting me. the manager wasn't any better either. so im fixing to complain but im not exactly sure where or who to complain to.

I've owned 5 fast food franchises and unfortunately, some instances of cussing will occur. Having "mommy" go to your job to talk to your manager isn't the way to handle the situation. If you are old enough to work, then you are old enough to attempt to resolve the situation yourself. The employee should have asked to discuss the issue with the manager themselves. If they do not like the results they can then either go to the DM themselves, file a complaint or simply resign. I'm sure they could find another job comparable with their position at Sonic easily. There are many fast food franchises in the area looking for entry level employment. Anyway mom, your kids are hearing a lot more cussing at school and after school with their friends then they are at Sonic. Let them work out their own problems or they won't be ready to stand up for themselves when they need to.
