Maytag / maytag fridge
To Start, after reading some of the complaints and concerns it is a wonder how Maytage is still in business and why we even considered purchasing any products manufactured by them.
With that, we purchased a shiny new Maytag fridge 22 months ago, NOT 22 years ago, only 22 MONTHS, back in late fall of 2017. Since that time we have had the jazz board and the pressure switch (not the technical designation of the part) replaced as they were not under warranty any longer. To a tune of $500.00 in parts and labour, $375.00 in lost food, $1000.00 in lost wages and most importantly our lost TIME . Absolutely wretched product. We would rank the quality and lifespan of our Maytag nightmare fridge somewhere in between rotten fast food Ecoli infused milkshake and that white stuff that accumulates at the corner of your mouth when really thirsty. In essence this is the most expensive cooler we have ever purchased.
Now I understand we are contending with a large corporation whom have no interest in the consumer, only an affinity to appease their board of directors and stock value but at some point these organizations will need to take responsibility for their predetermined poor quality products. The ideology that quality is irrelevant and the consumer is a sucker is not a sustainable model for any business today and cannot be any further glorified as we the consumer, now have more than one media and platform to share our disgusting experiences.
We fully appreciate that we will never receive any restitution from maytag, in fact I would venture a guess that we will never even hear from their organization except perhaps for some condescending and juvenile automated response to this complaint.
But, know this Maytag - if our tenement of fridges completely fails here, which will be within the next 4 months (probably at Christmas when filled with seasonal favourites) considering the ridiculous timeline of issues we have experienced that we will NEVER EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER MAYTAG APPLIANCE. NOT PERSONALLY, NOT FOR ANY OF MY RENTAL PROPERTIES, NOT FOR ANY HOMES/HOTELS/BUSINESSES THAT I PARTICIPATE IN THE BUILDING OF- NEVER. We will not even venture in to a retailer that specializes in your product.
What we will do with an unparalleled veracity is we will make sure that we share our experience with every single individual that is willing to listen and many that are not, as well as compose a similar complaint on every available media and form on-line. It is imperative that we do our due diligence and inform as many consumers as possible of the beyond sub-par quality of the product so they do not have to have a similar experience and waste their hard earned money and time. No more easy money for Maytag.
