privilege club cards
I had bought seveal privilege club cards, which sonic is one of the places of bus they can b used at. Sometimes they have been honored, and other times not. The card says buy one burger, get one free. If I buy a burger combo sometimes they allow one free and most times not why? The manager says they cannot honor it because it means that if u just buy a burger, then u can get one free. I ask why, and they say because the combo is already discounted. If u look at the menue, the burger by itself is $2.69, small fries $1.00, med drink $1.00, making the total $4.69. If u buy a combo meal it's $4.89, guys where is the discount? I don't think sonic or any other merchant should participate in such programs if they are not going to be truthful with the public. Although may be the problem is with the so called managers they employ at their places of bus. I realize that i'm just one person taking the time to even bring this to lite, but if you look at the big picture we the public are getting screwed.

suggestive selling techniques
I get so tired of saying No when I order food at the drive thru or at the car hop area after I clearly state "That's all I want, nothing more" then the stupid unlistening order taker ask's me "Would you like to add some chili cheese fries with that?" And I reply "No!" "How about some tator tots?" Are they deaf?
Do they not understand that when someone say's "That's all I want" I'm not going to be thinking about anything else but pulling up and paying and leaving. Sonic has a huge problem with their suggestive selling. They are more interested in making that extra sale then listening to what the customer just said
They need to re evaluate that technique and teach their employees to listen to what was said and not what extra peice of food they try to get me to buy. And the food they get me to buy doesn't even go together.
Someone (Sonic employee) in the Tulsa area is not happy that I am spreading this insighful message, but they need to change theirs before I change mine!

It is required of the workers to suggestive sell an item. Haven't you seen the signs saying that YOU will get a 2 dollar off coupon if they DON'T suggestive sale. You are a [censor] and just need to politely decline. (I am in no way connected to sonic, just another customer).
It is required of Sonic employees to suggestive sell an item when taking a customer's order
You're smart.
Not really.

Today after a photography walk with my son, where I was looking for macro opportunities, I stopped at Sonic for some food before heading home to edit. After I ordered, I looked over and saw some nice smaller flowers. I grabbed the camera, and exited the car, and managed to take ONE photograph, before being asked to leave the premises for taking pictures. Of a flower. He (the owner) told me that it was private property, and no one was allowed to take photographs.

I have worked for Sonic for many, many years and you cannot blame the manager for this one. You can't even blame anyone at that particular restaurant. Sonic corporate has strict regulations on media attention and all media attention must handled through the corporate media office, period. If the management or personal have any type of interaction with the media they risk being fired for their actions.
He was only following the procedure set forward that Sonic says has to be followed. I realize that you are not actually a member of the press. However, as soon as you pulled out the camera and began taking photos of the property, which is private coincidentally, you were perceived as a member of the media.
In addition, you do have to have permission to take photographs on private property and it is always best practice to obtain prior permission when taking photographs of a commercial location or grounds such as fast food restaurants, general stores, etc. Most don't take kindly to being secretly photographed because the media will often abuse them in this way.
Next time just ask and we'll be more than accommodating to your request. We just have to follow instructions!
Have a great day!

Good for him. You h ave no right to tresspass. let's face it you took that picture because you were too lazy to waddle your fat rear-end to a place where you could take pictures on public property. you probably got a immense fatburger at sonic to add to your already blubberous fat belly
harrassment of employee
i was employed with sonic drive in i had many years experience in management. i took this job thinking it was a a new experience. was i wrong the whole time i was there i was harrassed by the generalmanager. she was loud and mean talked about her sex life with employees who were minors. she had been a manager here 25 years yet she acted like a high school kid picking on the unpopular kids. i spent over 20 years as a manager for companys such as pizza hut and burger king. never once was i treated like i was at sonic. what a horrible company to be employed by
i know the feeling i was being harrassed my general manager she always yells and belittles me in front of other employees i had to walk out last night. she left me alone in the drive thru alone on a friday and then yelled at me because i couldnt bag my food

I went to the sonic drivd in in westmoreland to get a oreo blast when I pushed the button no one answered I pushed the button agarin after about 5 minutes someone came out with a paper to take my order she said this stall was not working she went back in then after several more minutes another lady comes out check the speaker she ask if someone had taken my order Itell her yes finally they keep taking out orders to people I know arrived after me that have several bags of food I ask the lady about my order she says they are waiting on my fries I tell her all I ordered was a oreo blast she goes in I finally tell them I do not want my order they just tell me h0w busy they have been with no appology I only live about 2 minutes from this sonic when I get home my husband tells me he was bout to come look for me to see if I had recked I have since been told by someone who had a friend that worked there not to go there that they had had roaches in their ice cream not very professional place
Went to Sonic and ordered two orders of the 6 piece boneless wings. Came out as a 12 piece and as it was for two different people, I asked to please put in two containers. That was done, but no forks were received with the order. Also ordered popcorn chicken and mozzarella sticks. Did not get the mozzarella sticks and had to ask for them. That isn't a real big deal but as we had gone through the drive in we left. The boneless wings were either still frozen or raw. Just writing about them makes me gag and I doubt I will ever eat a boneless wing again as I cannot get the sound of how they cracked when I ate them and the look of them when I actually cut one in half to see what was going on out of my mind. So the child with popcorn chicken said, I don't want my chicken so you can have it. No wonder she didn't want it. It was so overcooked and dry you could hardly chew it and I didn't really find any "chicken" in the pieces. It was like fried leather. Slushes were refreshing though.
I came to sonic tonight for their half price shakes, I didn't get one. I had gotten there before they went on sale. So I got myself a sandwich instead, and my little girl some fries. When the girl bought my order out she at first seemed nice but however she became unfriendly. Her smile faded and she was very short with me, and I felt very rushed with how she handed me my order. I have been there a few times and haven't had that happen before so I was very taken back by this. I didn't tip the young lady do to this, and I am glad I didn't because when I got home I found my order to not be correct. The sandwich I order didn't have all I wanted on it, but it was still good. However that young girl was worse than my mess up. I can not remember her name I just know she had light brown hair and dark eyes. I hope the next time I decided to come back I do not have that type of service again.
Richard The little, Ooops! I mean height impared manager from the Edinburg, Texas Sonic Drive In store failed to pay ME! A former low income family employee. I was a cook and when I went to pick up my last check he failed to hand it to me. Instead evading me and plain out juss disrepecting me by, his rude comments like, "You can do whatever you want!" I feel he should be fired and prosecuted. Failure To Do So Will Result In Legal Action! I feel I should be repremanded for my hours of service and expenses lost during my time of employment.
I went to this establishment and had 5 people in the car for free slushies and the manager told me that it was one per customer. We ordered food and while we were waiting it was noticed that Anglo Saxons that requested more than one slushy were given that benefit while Spanish people were given the one per customer line. Inclusively, after we paid for our food via debit card they tried to charge us again. We informed the server that we paid via a card and requested him to go in and verify. After 45 minutes I went to inquire if payment was received and the manager acted like I posed a threat. I will certainly post this interaction up on Face book and warn other Hispanics about this particular Sonic's protocol in dealing with customers.I don't think they need us as customers.
Have a complaint about store 5810 lake ave st. Joseph, mo.
The general manager james has his fiance courtney working under him previously as crew but recently bumped her to crew leader. James is disrespectful to the girls that work as carhops. James also lets his fiance courtney have the days off that other people have requested of. He also has students working late nights (After 10 pm) on school nights and also has them working more then 30 hours a week. I highly recommend something gets done.
This # had the nerve to get my drink wrong! One, I takes 30 minutes for 2 drinks and some cheese sticks. So, they walk out to the car. Te girl says "rasberry" I said "no ma'am it's supposed to be strawberry.
"oh it is..."
I take it, then I read the ticket. It says rasberry! I was mad. I asked her to fix it. Takes 10 mintutes to fix one drink! Then I get it... And no freakin' ice! I'm mad! I want to cuss at them. Please fix it.
Love, erin leanna.
Carhop are printing and signing payroll checks because owner is family and happens to have same name.
I had one of the rudest customer service experience in my life at Sonic in Avon, IN. I don't know what the lady's deal was, but she sighed rudely before answering my questions. She cut me off in the middle of me talking so I ended up just driving away. Why would I stay and pay for people to disrespect me like that! I went to White Castle instead.
I was laid off due to "lack of communication" and I when I tried picking up my last pay check the store manager Richard was never In store. I don’t know why if it's his responsibility to make sure store was properly closed; instead he had a woman assistant close for him most of the time. I wasted gas money and time contacting him on the phone and traveling to the store. If I'm not mistaken the procedure on a failure to pick up check is for the "Store Manager" to send it to that employees contact address. He failed to do so. Now it’s two years later and I recently contacted the Edinburg store on West University, Richard the store manager called me a liar and rudely told me to "Do Whatever I Want". Which infuriated me and I ended up walking out the store without getting the issue resolved.
extremely poor service
incredibly rude manager. the microphone and speaker at the patio menu order kiosk may not have been working properly so the guy taking the order started yelling at me to tell him my name. he had to interrupt me giving my order so he could get my name. he couldnt wait till I was finished with the order. he said it over and over "your name, your name, your name, tell me your name". he was obsessed with it. there were three customers sitting and standing around so it wasnt like the order wouldnt get to me. anyway, after the insulting tone and insistent repetition of "your name" i called him an a-hole so he came out to confront me. turns out he was just some dopey punk kid but because he was the "manager" of the moment - and was obviously overly impressed with his title and heavy responsibilities - he felt he could push me around. and when he realized that I wasnt intimidated by him and was having none of his BS, he called over the imitation, wannabe, toughguy, nazi ss-copycat hasbrouck heights cop who was sitting in his patrol car in a blocked drivethru lane (this sonic is on rt 17 north which is under construction so they need a cop there to direct traffic) who felt, when i tried to explain myself, that I was "raising my voice to him" (the thin-skinned cop) and that I should leave. I didnt say another word and left. Note, I didn't go inside the building, I was on the patio, the "manager" came outside to confront me while I'm standing there with my 11 year old kid. So it was all BS but I left and my kid went empty-handed. he was the one who wanted to go there after all. The good news is that I called the sonic help line and they took my complaint and seemed very sympathetic. we'll see if there is any response. As for the hasbrouck heights cop - get over yourself - you're just directing traffic, not saving the world for democracy. although considering what these local cops make they are probably justified in thinking that all taxpayers are rubes.

lazy 7 crazy workers
Me and my daughter went through the drive in like I do every day to get one to two cups of 44 cup of ice. I love the ice there. Well I was right next to the window the girl did not even try to hand the cup to me I had to reach into the window myself . I then had to open my truck door to reach in more to get my cups. I turned to my daughter and was talking to her and said I guess she can't reach out more. Then she pops off what did you say. I told her I was not speaking to her I was talking to my child and she just kept running her mouth. I told her to just give me what I paid for so I can get out of here. Well I went like always to get ice I have all week I get to my work then this girl comes in I didn't know at first who she was. She had followed me to my work my coworker ask what was the problem. She said you'r friend does not wave back at me when I wave to her and I gave her the finger. She was told to leave but would not my coworker kept telling her you have to leave she told her if she did not go right now she was going to call the cops the girl kept running her mouth off so Britt picked up the phone after a while she left. She had now right doing that I could go and tell her boss that she makes customers get their own stuff but I did not because times are hard and I dont want anyone to lose their jobs but she came to my work like a crazy ### if I lose my job cause of her I will make for sure she will lose hers and make it hard for her to get another job. They have lost more than 20 coustmers due to her and I will get even more people to stop going to eat there.

unfair firing of employee
I just want to complain about the way that my 16 year old daughter was treated at Sonic today. Hellpp mee! Hello everyone! My name is ashli auguillard. I'm a junior in high school and just made 16 this summer, so I got a job at sonic drive-in in june. I've been workin great there! I get an averagr of 60 dollars in tips a day and have many regular customers who enjoy my service, but it seems that my positive attitude and innocense had been taken advantage of by the managers there. The store manager is the mother of 18 year old steven who's a manager, and he's datint misty, another manager there. Steven is very unprofessional. He poorly greets customers with his shirt at his knees. He and misty would constantly discuss their sexual affairs at work. I'm only sixteen but I know that they don't follow correct procedure. They always mess up my check and i'm left waiting till the next paycheck to get the previous paycheck. They constantly close the store from 5-30 minutes early. Lately i'd been coming up short with my money every day, so i'd have to give up my tips. Something's crooked about those people because i'm not the only one who's been having this problem. One employee even told me that I was blind if I couldn't tell what was going on. A couple of days ago steven threw cheese at me and I was fed up, so I cursed him out. He told this to his mother but hadn't mentioned him throwing cheese at me or calling me a "hoe." I was fired. Everyone at work was surprised and mad. I help everyone with everything and keep their spirits up. I'm an amazing carhop and have a 4.0 gpa at school. I just don't see why I was fired for cursing. They curse all the time with all employees. Plus, misty cursed everyone out then quit, and was given her job back by the store manager [mother-in-law] within a day. It's because she's the store manager's son's girlfriend. There are many worse problems that involve legal matters that go on with this place. I don't know what to do. It isn't right. What professional company do I complain to. Help!

My son works for the Sonic Drive-In in Aztec, NM and he is having this kind of problem too. We need to put an end to this now.
hours,an cololr discrimination
a new manager has just came into sonic as (general manager) jason blagman (white man) who has 3 years of manager training who ios being trined by thaduus toney(balck Macn) who has been there at pratt location for 12 years. The area manger(nancy grissom) is bearly there, Employees have had may comlaints about there hours an have been made plenty of promises nothing has been done about cut hours but they put an now hirirg sign outside the building and have hired at least 8 or 9 workers since. The worker being trained have more hours then people been the 2 to 3 years and they send us home early from work saying labor rates are to high but are still hiring.Everyone who is white has 20 + hours and anr ranking 40 hours a week as carhops. ### manages who are white are getting 50+ hours a week.Black carhops rank 20- hors a week, and black ### managers are ranking 40- hours a week something has to be done. No one is able to mantain a lifestyle with hours like that this week the gave 4 out of 5 balck employees 7 hours for the week. People with the mopst cut hours have childern and have bills and are unable to make end meet and with the ecomony the way it is there is no way for you to find work immeditley.

I do not agree with the presumed racism. I am a manager and have worked with Mr. Tony. He was receiving almost 50+ hours. Due to his health problems, he was reduced. Your hours are based off of many different factors: attitude, attendence, strengths, sales, service, respect, and effort. If you are not getting the hours you want, then change yourself; and don't throw the race card out there. My store is over 80% black, and they all receive 25-40+ hours.
You sound like illiterate black trash with no education and a well presented educated white person is being advanced and you are staying in your place where you belong. Learn english, get some education, stop acting like monkeys.
oragne cream slush - extra creamy
order a large orange cream slush - extra cream - extra thick - when brought out was not as I ordered - waitress was rude - said it was right, they did add extra cream - after all it is a slushie. The slushie was watery - there was no extra cream - i am tired of the seervice from this location - used to get a straw and spoon, because they used to be thick - a customer is entitled to receive what they asked for and paid for - this location has gone downhill - I called manager at the store and she could of cared less - did not even give her name - when I asked for manager - reply was this is she - never offered to correct next time we were in - guess one less customer does not matter to them - but word of mouth to others will mean more customers lost.
they are rude
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
you idiot, Its a slushie, its SUPPOSED TO BE watery, AND ALSO, YOU CAN'T ADD EXTRA "CREAM" BE SPECIFIC! There's ICE-CREAM and then there's WHIP-CREAM. The slushie machine sometimes also malfunctions so the slushie can be either VERY thick, or VERY watery.
awful customer service
I went to Sonic to get a milk shake. When I walked in an employee was standing with her back to the counter talking to another employee. Employee #1 glanced at me then walked away never acknowledging me. A short time later she returned, still not saying a word to me. When it became apparent that she was not walking up to the counter I just told her I wanted a milk shake. Up to now she still had not said a word to me. She went, made the shake and came back, rang up my order and said "$2.04". I gave her the money she handed me the shake and walked away. I said "thank you" and left. I think it is very poor customer service not saying Hi, Good-bye, Thank you, kiss my...

For me to complain about food service it has to be pretty bad. I took three of my kids to Sonic for supper because to had a busy day and did not feel like cooking. The first girl to take my order was apparently new because she turned my over to another. Four times I gave her my order and four times she called it back wrong. I was not speaking fast nor did I stutter. I wanted a cheese burger with bacon and cheese only fries and a coke, kids cheese burger with bacon, cheese, and mayo, tots, and a sprite, kids cheese burger with cheese, bacon, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo, fries, and a sprite. Why did I get 2 cheese burgers one with tomatoes and pickles and a root beer, a kids burger with mustard one sprite and two tots; and a snotty attitude from the one taking the order and the one who brought my food.
damage to my blackberry
On 7/12/09 I vistited the drive thru at sonic.
I placed my order and then waiting to get to the window. When I pulled up, the lady at the window (Glenda) handed me my route 44 cherry dr. Pepper but the lid was just barely on! The drink went all over me, and every where else ~ all the way to the passanger side! My blackberry was charging in the back of the cup holder wich was now submerged in 2"of soda! Gledna ~ just shut the window! She did not even apologize once! She gave me napkins ~ only after I requested them.
I pulled around and went inside. I asked for a manager, and after waiting almost five minutes a lady named ely came out to see me. I explaind to her what happened and that my phone was no longer working and she just told me to hold on. She came back with a receipt with her manager's number on the back. Wasim [protected]. I asked her if I could use their phone to call him. After a few minutes she brought me a phone but the call would not go through. It sounded like it was off the hook somewhere in the resturant. So I asked if it was off the hook or something. A few minutes later ely came back out and gave me someone's cell phone. I tried and trid to get a hold of wasim, but I only got his voice mail. I could not leave him a message at the time to call me back, because my phone was not working. I asked ely if he had another number and she said,"no, he does not have a house phone. Only a cell phone."
Not once did I get any kind of apology! I went home and went to my neighbors house to use their phone and called wasim again and again. 5:20pm, 5:30pm, 5:40pm & 5:43pm. I left a message for him to call me back and left my friends phone number. Here it is the next day, and he still has not called me back. My blackberry, my memory card & my charger are all fried! I cannot believe the amount of unprofessionalism that I have had to deal with!

yeah its funny that dude wasim or whatever called me in for in interview and i was like 3 mons pregnant at the time and barely showing but one of the workers up there that i worked with, before when i worked there with nasiem had said something to him and he set outside the store explaining to me that he cant hire me to save him money cause when i have the baby and am on maturnity leave he'll have to hire someone ealse on at that time and it will be to costly for him, to come back after i have him and he assures me a job...well that didnt happen and... isnt that descrimination; very unproffesional!
under age employment
I have every reason to believe that a 13 year old is working for tips in uniform and all at the lexington, oklahoma location. I know that is illegal and thought that you should know and address it and take care of the situation. I believe that the 13 year old works nights with her mother. I do not know how they got it to where the 13 year old is working there but they do. It needs to stop, its not right! Please take care of this situation and thank you
Thanks,
T. M.

Better than this 13 year old being in a gang, playing video games, watching tv or being sexually molested in an after school program, YMCA or Church program. I'm sorry, I started working when I was 12 washing cars and I learned early the value of the dollar.
I hate how people think this kind of thing is horrible or something. . . this is the BEST thing that a 13 year could be doing. Take care of your own and stay out of everyone else's business.
1) Sonic would get in a hellstorm of legal trouble if they knowingly hired an underage employee.
2) In Oklahoma, you can generally start working around age 14-15 with a work permit.
3) Sometimes teenagers can look much younger than their actual age.
Get off it, the family is obviously struggling to make ends meets. Not everyone can afford a third diamond-encrusted crystal chandelier like you. Would you rather support them on Walfare?
services @ the hasbrouck heights sonic on rt 17
I was mistreated at Sonic located in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ- I felt that the security guard singled me out b/c I was ASIAN!
On June 28th, 2009, my husband and I decided to visit Sonic located in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. We were so excited b/c we always wanted to try Sonic and get the service at the car spot. The wait to go into the Sonic parking took us about 50 minutes, there was a police officer there to assist with the traffic since it was off of one of the major Highway. As soon as we got into the line waiting for the parking spot, we were told by this big security guy named "Dave" that we had to use the drive thru. We explained to him calmly that we waited on the long line to experience the "sonic car spot" service. He tells us that he was told from the inside that people had to start using the drive thru, so we had to move to that line. He wouldn't give me a choice to wait on the line for the car spot, so we moved to the drive thru. The car right behind us got into the same argument but that guy to stay on the line! I got angry so I got out of my car and ask to speak to Manager to one of the girls that work there. As I waited for the manager to come out, I was literally shaking b/c of what had happen to me. I looked around, and there wasn't any Asian working there or even there for the service. The big security guard comes to me, all I said was I want to talk to you manager, and he had the nerve to get the police officer monitoring the traffic!
The office made us leave, so I yelled to the security guard "Dave" YOU ARE ONE RUDE PERSON! Then turned around. I saw that the manager was standing out side so when I started to go to him, the officer told me to leave again. The manager didn’t even ask me if anything was wrong but walk back inside. I didn’t even get to talk to the manager and when I got home to call the corporate office- all they did was take down the compliant and said someone will get back to me. It’s been three weeks already. I have not received any calls from either Sonic or the corporate office. I have been telling everyone I know not to visit any of the Sonic. I felt humiliated when they told me to leave. I felt that they were racist towards me because I was Asian and I was singled out to go through the drive thru without a choice to remain on the car spot line.
I would never ever go to Sonic- and I hope everyone in the world knows how rude and unprofessional they are.
if it were you guys who went through what I did, I'm sure you would be thinking differently, or even pissed off at what happen.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I think u are blowing ur experience out of proportion! Race had absolutely nothing to do with it. U say it's because u are asian. Asian meaning indian or asian meaning oriental? The police officer that was run over at that Sonic was hit by an asian (oriental) guy because he wanted to force his way into Sonic but the cop wouldn't let him due to overcrowding. The "asian" got angry, hit the cop with his car, and took off. Come to think of it, maybe that "asian" was u, trying to get retribution for the wrong that was done to u in your sick, twisted mind!
Hold on there cowboy! cowgirl! or cowperson! I don't think the fact that you were asian had anything to do with it. I have gone into some very good chinese restaurants and have never seen any blacks or whites employed there. But I believe that's good because it adds to the charm and ethnicity. The real deal, you know? But I don't think race is the issue. "I was literally shaking b/c of what had happen to me". Are you kidding? I think sometimes in life you need to pick your battles and this wasn't one to be causing a ruckus over. The only humiliation in this situation is that of what you brought on to yourself. It will take some soul searching and a few glimpses into the mirror to figure that one out. The security guard was only telling you what the powers that be on the inside was telling him what to do. Getting out of your car presented a danger because if it was crowded as you say it was, you put yourself in danger of possible getting hit by a car or whatever. How is security going to know that you aren't some crazed lunatic (and they come in all shapes, sizes and colors)? After all, it was kind of crazy to wait 50 minutes for a Sonic car spot "experience"? I would like to assure you that you did not miss anything. Nope! The food was HORRIBLE when I went and not anything that I would wait for. It's not like in the good ole' days when you placed your order and they would bring a tray out to you with the grub on it and you could help yourself. The place doesn't even trust you with the trays. You place your order, they bring it out to you and hand the stuff to you. Kind of like if you ordered it through the drive through. The only difference is that you are parked in a parking slot and some employee walks your order out to you and not paper bags like a take out order. Trust me, you will be able to find a spot once the novelty wears off and it will. That's only if you want to go back. Really! How long would you have waited for a sonic experience?
You were not discriminated against because you are Asian - you were directed to do something within reason on someone else's property and you got angry. You want to blame anyone and everyone you can and the first thing you can think of is racism. 50 minutes for the "Sonic Experience?' I could care less what your nationality/race is - you strike me as a spoiled, inconsiderate person. The security guard is there for a reason - listen to him and follow the directions or leave. No one working there is Asian? So what? I've been to many Chinese Restaurants where the employees are ALL Asian and have had poor service - should I complain and say it's because I am of European descent? Dear Lord - it's a hamburger you ### - get over it!
Hello,
I felt compleded to write a response to this, I am not affliated with Sonic nor are any of my relatives, I understand and do sympathize with your problem. But the simple fact is Sonic on RT 17 has been a mad house since the day it opened. NO ONE Working there not even the cops that are directing traffic were prepaired fully for the madness that Sonic has created and the Sonic Craze over a fast food burger.. Btw I had Sonic twice and I would take a good McDonalds Big mac over a sonic burger any day of the week... Sonic does have some banging shakes though.. But back to my point, I work in the club business sometimes when we reach legal capacity we have to turn people away and make them wait in long lines.. it really does suck, pardon my french but what else can you do? If you dont want to wait try going there when they first open or earlier in the day. But as it stands right now that Sonic on 17 is total chaos and I heard today that a cop got hit by a car, now I dont know any of the details of the story.. But a cop allegedly was struck by a car on rt 17, I dont know if that person was trying to go to Sonic or if it was a direct result of Sonic, but one thing is for sure... If there wasnt this hoopla and craze over Sonic, this would have never happened...
Found plastic on my sandwich !
I have had numerous problems with this sonic. A few months ago we went through the drive through and saw one of the workers working with food in the back, with a small baby on her hip. She was preparing food with a baby in her arms !
Today we went through there, and ordered 3 chicken strip sandwiches. I ate half of mine, and when a piece of chicken started to slide off the bun, I opened it to fix it back, and found 3 small pieces of hard black plastic on my sandwich ! One was the size of my pinky fingernail. God knows what I ate, as I had already eaten half the sandwich, and my children also ! how can a worker not see that they are putting harmful items on a sandwich, OR, was this done on purpose ?

I am an employee of a Sonic chain. I am in the supervisory field for the ArkLaMiss region.
The way we handle these types of complaints, for if you take it back, is like this:
1. You would be instructed to notify the supervisor or owner, NOT the GM, of this incident. If you notify the GM, he will try to skirt the issue.
2. You will need to have retained at least the sandwich with the contaminate and in its original condition if at all possible. The reason being is that if the issue goes to court, which it probably won't, then you'll need evidence or the judge will throw the case.
3. Do not let the issue go. Believe me, Sonic will hope that you forget about it!
4. Hire an attorney and sue. This is actually against health code so you do have a case. It's called foreign food contaminate which violates health code regulations in every state.
5. They will eventually settle out of court if you have hard evidence.
As far as the baby in the kitchen-
This is a violation of many state and federal laws and the management could be fired, at the least, for that type of infraction. Worst case scenario is a closure of the location. This is an issue to be taken up with your local labor office. You could also take the complaint to Sonic. However, they will handle it all internally and you'll never know if the problem has been corrected. I encourage you to report this if nothing else because this poses a serious health and safety risk to the child.
PS: All sonic workers are not paid $2.13. Only the carhops qualify for tip-credit and some sonic locations elect to pay more. For instance, the chain I am employed with pays $3.50.
That's awful what you got on your sandwich. I would definitely complain. That could really hurt someone. As far as the baby thing, that is unfortunate. I feel so sorry for the people that work at sonic. They get paid $2.15 an hour ( I know cause my room mate works there) +tips. On a busy day my room mate brings back a little more than $3 in tips. She would go work somewhere else but there isn't anywhere else that is hiring. I know cause I'm looking for a job too and I am having hardly any luck. That poor girl is working her ### off to feed her baby and doesn't have anyone to look after him/her and sure can't afford a babysitter. I think sonic has gone too far. They really don't care at all about their employees. How can anyone live off of that?
deceptive pricing
Sonic Not-so-Special 5 for $5.95
Funny thing how advertising works for this company. Most days I pass through Sonic (which avgs 3 times a week) they have signs posted on
their marquee and around the drive-thru and the drive up window with their “5 for $5.95 Tuesday special”. Of course, today is Tuesday so I head
over to get their advertised special. Upon arrival, I look for the signage to confirm I’ve come on the correct day. Not a single sign in sight
anywhere on the premise.
With the employee coming over the intercom asking for my order I stated “ Is today the 5 for $5.95 special ?” the reply was “What would
you like on your burgers?”. Again I asked, “is this the day for the 5 for $5.95 special”. The reply this time was ”yes, would you like cheese
on your burgers?”. My reply followed as ”I’d like whatever comes on them with the $5.95 special”. Their reply was “you can get them any way you
want”. I replied “Ok, however them come. I’d also like .. (drinks and tots)”. They told me the total cost and said to pull to the window.
I paid the amount told to me $17.56 Took my food and headed home. Once home, I decided to look over the receipt to confirm the $5.95
special. The receipt reads as follows:
5 ALL CB $14.95 (burgers)
1 LG TT 1.99
1 XL SLUSH 1.99
1 XL SLUSH 1.99
1 XL SLUSH 1.99
5 5 FOR 5.95 -6.50
-----------
ST 16.41
TX 1.15
-----------
TOTAL 17.56
So.. Doing a little math $14.95 – 6.50 = $8.45 funny, that’s NOT $5.95
Next step… called the store asked for the manager. The gentleman on the phone says “speaking”… I asked “Is this the manager?” The reply
“Yes”. I aksed “what is your name?” His reply “Scotty”.
I proceeded to explain: “I just went through the drive-thru, and asked for the $5.95 special. The receipt says they charged $14.95 then
gave a credit of $6.50… that means they charged me $8.95 for my $5.95 special.” His reply “It’s extra for the cheese”. My response “I asked for
the $5.95 special, they asked if I wanted cheese, I said I’ll take whatever comes on them for the $5.95 special. I never did say I wanted
cheese”. His response “Well, we make the burgers individually to whatever you want”. I responded “ I told the order taker 3 times, whatever
comes on the $5.95 special”.
He finally said “I’m sorry for YOUR confusion. The cheese is 40 cents extra per burger. I can put your name in our book for a credit for
the cheese on your next visit. If you give me your name, I’ll credit you with a $2 coupon”. I accepted his offer at face value and gave my
name…. conversation ended.
But then after hanging up.. it hit me.. $8.45 - $2.00 = $6.45 Still NOT $5.95… I’m still screwed.
So, I call back the store. Scotty answers. I stated “I just called a minute ago about the $5.95 special issue… are you the location manager
or shift manager?” His reply “I’m the assistant manager” I then asked for the store location number (5756 Spout Springs Road) and the general
managers name (Mia Parks). Told him I’d be contacting the general manager, the district manager, corporate headquarters… and that I’d be
posting this anywhere & everywhere I can on the internet.
One other thing I’ve been pondering… is their special for slush drinks. Seems they have afternoon half price specials. I’ve noticed they
seem to charge a “surcharge” of 20 cents for the flavor on these drinks. If I get this right, with the price and surcharge, that comes to more
than half price.
Does anyone besides me see deceptive advertising and practices here ? Any legal eagles want to file a class action suit to get their
attention ?
Maybe the greed for profits has skewed the focus of management, but considering a similar issue has occurred in my past with this company,
it seems to be a business plan in place to accomplish this deception.
Advertising, discounts and specials…. Used to bring in new customers, used to give a value to existing loyal customers, used to bring in
revenue and interest in otherwise slow time periods for the business. So much for good rapport with your customer base Sonic !
So, if you’re tired of being taken advantage of… or if you’ve had the same discourteous schemes played out against you, feel free to write
me with your stories, and I’ll gladly post them on every board I come across that I can post on.

I patronize the Sonic in my town and today was the last time I will ever go to any Sonic again. I went for lunch and waited almost 30 mins for my food, like a usual thing. Not only did I wait for food at a fastfood restaurant for 30 mins, the food was disgusting. I ordered a BLT combo which it clearly states that it is $5.89 for a combo but they charge me more than the menu says. The lettuce on my food was brown and soggy and the tomato looked like it sat for months before they placed it on my sandwich. I do not ask for much but my gosh, this has been a common thing for this store. I have had patience and waited for more than 20 mins with no one in line, for my food there before. What is the issue here? Why can't you get your act together at this location. FYI...Do not go to this Sonic! They are terrible all together. Service, food and timing and whatever you do, do not go there for lunch because you will be late going back to work trying to acquire your food. Englewood, Oh location...
I have an issue with my local sonic as well in their deceptive advertising practices. So Tuesday nights are half priced burger night. My wife and I like a good burger and sonic does well in that regard, so when offered for half price it definitely motivates us to hit the local sonic. Well, Twice now in the past 6 weeks when going to sonic and ordering our burgers, they have charged us full price. Normally we don't catch it right away as we order other things, but when looking at the receipt I have caught this twice. And the real irony, the advertisement for half price burgers IS PRINTED ON THE VERY RECEIPT THEY GAVE US FOR OUR PURCHASE! When calling the local sonic and speaking to the manager, I am treated dismissively and like its my fault. One told me it was my responsibility to make sure that im only being charged half price and the other reminded me that the promotion was only good after 5pm. I called after 8pm and had left the sonic less than 10 minutes before. I also sent Corporate a complaint both times, to receive a non reply email stating that they were sorry my visit wasn't up to my expectations and they forwarded my complaint to the location. Ive already complained to the local sonic myself! Our previous visit was also all kinds of messed up, with us receiving 3 different totals and then getting the wrong food. I finally just accepted whatever they handed us and drove off.
The issue here is not the price for the food, but the deception on the consumers...Of you advertise a certain price that's what I expect to pay. I have never stopped to check my receipts but after reading this...I will. If everyone stopped eating out ...gosh that would put alot of people out of a job SMDH.
omfg if y'all have an issue with pricing, buy and cook your own damn ###.
If it wasn't for people like us patronizing the restaraunts, you would not have a job! Have some respect..
Today, 7-13-16 at Store #1760, I ordered a Super Sonic cheese burger w/mustard and a Chicago dog combo which included a medium French fry and a medium drink. I was told that it would be $11.89. When my order came, I paid and was asked if I wanted my receipt. I am not always given that option and normally don't care. Today I said yes. While eating and looking at the receipt I noticed that each item was listed and priced individually. Burger $4.49, Chi dog $2.39, FF $1.89, Drink $2.04, plus tax $1.08 equals $11.89 as quoted. Upon looking at the menu screen, a Super Sonic Cheese Burger was $4.49 and a Chicago dog combo was $5.79. That plus tax of $1.03 should have been $11.31. That is a difference of $.58 which isn't much. To me the principal here is the issue. I have no problem paying the posted price but why total it up in such a way to charge me more than the posted pricce. When I complained, a car hop asked me if I wanted a refund or the difference. I said the difference. She offered me $.25 saying it was the difference in tax. I told her to keep it, that they apparently needed it worse then I did and left... I know they sell many many deceptive priced combo's.
I want to know why my shakes that are clearly on the menu board for 3.99 for medium size why i was charged .40 for adding strawberry when i did not add anything? They were both listed in plain sight under master shakes for 3.99 it says nothing about you being charged anything else. This is wrong in so many ways think about all the people that does not look at their receipts i was one of them until tonight and we should own sonic with the amount of money we have spent on their shakes in the past. So here it is think about how much extra money they are taking from people from every sonic out there from people that have no clue what is happening. I will be holding on to my receipt because this has to be stopped one way or the other. We all need to put a stop to Sonic taking our money without our knowledge!
Same thing happens at the Sonic in Camden, Arkansas and I agree it is very deceptive. I have had the same experience with their shakes and slushes, I wonder what you get if you order a slush and don't specify a flavor, would you just get a cup of ice? It is an unethical practice if not illegal, not good business at all. I would be more than willing to do a class action suit with others who are fed up with this practice.
We went to get a couple of shakes for the girls last night. The price on the menu showed 3.39 for the medium so we ordered two medium strawberry banana shakes and then were told it would be over $9.00. I thought that sounded funny so I asked when we were given the shakes and it turns the 3.39 was only for vanilla and that you pay extra for each flavor so we paid an extra 40 cents for the strawberry and an extra 40 cents for the banana so it shake came to 4.19. I think that is a very deceptive practice and something pretty new as this did not happen the last time we got shakes here. I did say that I guess they had figured out how to cheat people out of more money and the girl seriously said that ice cream is really expensive, like I couldn't buy a gallon of very good ice cream for $4.00 dollars. We could have gotten a Jamba Juice for that price. We will not be going back.
Hi there!
I am a regional supervisor for a southern-based Sonic Drive-In investment company.
We are also running this same special and I believe I can give you a little inside information that may help you with this claim.
The 5 for 5.95 deal occurs every Tuesday at participating locations between the hours of 5pm and 10pm. It is called family night.
A typical Sonic Burger is dressed as follows: Your choice of Mayo/Mustard/Ketchup or a combination or all three; Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, and Chopped Onion. Every location charges extra for cheese. My chain has the price set at $0.50 instead of .40 but that isn't really relevant here.
The way the system works is all items are going to appear full price on your ticket and then you will be given a discount which the employee enters by pressing a key which is preset to discount the correct pricing.
I can assure you that what you describe above is *not* standard operational procedure to any extent. This type of procedure is against corporate policy and should be reported. You can report this by phoning the corporate office for the franchise owner, who most likely doesn't know that this occurred. A second option is to report it to Sonic's Headquarters by phoning 1-866-OK-SONIC. The call is toll-free. However, you'll get better results if you go to the store where this occurred and ask for the supervisor's number. If they are reluctant to give it up, be sure to mention this to the supervisor.
Hope this helps!
over charge
I went to Sonic in a hurry but since Sonic is usually very fast I figured 25 minutes to order and get to class would be fine. First it took 15 minutes just for a wrap and a drink cutting me down to almost no time at all to actually eat the thing. The credit card machine outside was not saying my total so when they came out they had to take my credit card...

When placing my order I specifically asked for one ranch dressing dipping sauce. I like this with my oinon rings in which I ordered. When I received my order it didn't have any ranch so I pressed the order button a second time to ask for it to be brought to me by one of the car hops. It was like 20minutes later when I started getting irratated. I started to ask one of the nearby car hops to please get me a ranch when she told me to press the button for it, I told her that I already had and then she said, " well then I guess it will come to you eventually." What else was I suppose to do? I had been sitting there for a while already and mow my oinon rings were cold. So I left. I know it sounds silly but it was very aggravating and to be completely honest it wasnt the first time.

There was a bigger African American employee at the fountain station hollering and cussing and touched one of the waitresses butts and it was just disgusting they let some one like that work there
I have never seen so many roaches in one store in my 4 years of being employed with sonic drive-in. it is disgusting and they meaning roaches are every where. on top of that the store is falling apart and nothing in it works it is the BIGGEST HEALTH HAZARD i have seen in my life and needs to be condemned.
I got a crispy chicken sandwich. It was so tough I couldn't hardly eat it. We had ordered and taken our food home so couldn't tell them there.
Grilled cheese sandwich was soggy, greasy and Where's the cheese? Have had in other states and they have been GREAT! Suggestion: Add extra cheese so we can taste the cheese and clean grill more often.
We went to the Sonic drive in at Lytle Texas on our way to Laredo. We waited 20 minutes for a oreo blast, chocolate shake and a molten cake sundae. And there was no cake in my molten cake sundae! Worst service ever! In the future Dairy Queen will be our ice cream stop!
I went to Gravette Sonic and got a burger my bun was burnt. It was nasty I couldn't eat it. I was so disappointed..
then thats when you pick up your phone and call =/
Sogginess could be from foil bag.
I work for Sonic and this is a regular complaint.
We have looked into it.
Cheese is a set amount per sandwich.
If you want extra cheese, the base Sonic price is 50cent/slice.
food
I ordered two number one's today. One was with cheese, one no cheese. I was charged for the cheese, but I didn't get it on my order. Both orders were cold. I called to talk to the manager and a girl who answered the phone said that they were to busy for him to talk. I told her that I wanted to talk to him anyways, which I did. They have made mistakes on my orders before, and I just wanted them to be more careful on filing the orders.. Thank you. June 23rd. Mary bussey. [protected]

ruined my car interior
I ordered a Rt 44 Sweet Tea from the local Sonic Drive-in at Superstition Springs in AZ. I'm extremely upset about this because I'm driving in a nice brand new 2009 Chevy Avalanche with a pristine, off the factory line interior that had not even one speck of dirt on it at this point. The person who handed me my cup had wrapped a napkin around it which made it hard for me to notice that it was leaking. There must have been a huge defect in the cup because when I took it out of the cup holder, that little napkin band-aid that the ignorant employee slapped on there gave way and the entire cup split in half, leaving my beautiful new truck interior covered in a syrupy brown mess. I was also soaked but I didn't care so much about that, I'm easily washable. My truck isn't so easy to clean all of the upholstery, floor boards and console. I have to spend all this money to get the interior cleaned and I am royally PO'd. I'm sure if their employee wouldn't have wrapped a napkin around the cup they obviously knew was leaking and defective, this wouldn't have happened. I didn't think much of it at the time since employees often wipe off the cups or hand them to you with napkins. On top of all this, I call the store this happened at and their manager was rude an unapologetic saying they are not responsible - and trying to call their 800 number to reach someone at corporate has been a nightmare as well. The phone rings once and goes fast-busy. I will continue calling and sending letters to corporate until I get someone to listen to me and my cleaning bill paid for my brand new truck. Otherwise I am going to post this story everywhere I can and at [redacted], so everyone knows their stance on this situation; if the employees give you a drink in a defective cup don't expect them to give a damn about what property they ruin. Anyone who gets a nice new car they worked so hard for should be able to relate to how upsetting this is. To have your spotless new car interior wrecked by a wage slaves carelessness, and adding insult to injury the manager doesn't give a damn and you can't seem to get a hold of corporate.
I don't give a damn what any of you say, I don't need to prove myself to any of you low-lives sitting around making rude comments about someone you don't even know. This site is a joke compared to others like it, its more of a kids trolling and chat forum based on this and several other complaints I read. I am sticking with real sites like [redacted] from now on, and would advise any potential new posters to this forum reading this to do the same. You guys can keep posting garbage amongst yourselves for whatever reason, because I come off like a ###, you're jealous that I'm successful, or maybe I have struck a nerve with a lot of you making the comment about wage slaves. It doesn't really matter to me. The bottom line is: I won, the customer was right (as always) so I'm done with it.
I'm not sure if there's any way to remove a complaint from this website or if it stays up here like [redacted], if that is the case then I have to add the following:
I am retracting my complaint against Sonic Drive-In and this particular location. The DM I spoke with was very courteous and the situation was settled much to my approval. I apologize for the virulence in my original post directed toward Sonic employees, but not at the posters on this forum. I no longer have any resentment whatsoever toward Sonic/its employees/ etc after my concerns were addressed, and withdraw my comments about this store. I will not be updating this board again.
I have to amend my complaint here. How ironic that I get someone higher up in their company to talk with me the same day I post this to the internet, after weeks of trying. I wanted to add that finally I got in touch with the DM and he was wonderful, he really sympathized with me and handled the situation in a way that satisfied me. This employee has been fired since the incident happened and I'm assuming for having numerous complaints about their ineptitude. I'm certain I can't take credit for that, even though it would make me even happier to know that this ### paid for my truck with their job (and good luck finding somewhere to work in this economy - HA!)
They offered me free drinks, and I really ought to go down there just to rub it in the idiot store manager's face that YES, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY PROPERTY DAMAGE. However, I'm not going to patronize the place ever again, I'm not going to take the chances of having my drinks spit into. Having my cleaning bill paid for was more than enough. As far as the comments go - for one, I was never uncivil or disrespectful when dealing with the employees l in anyway even after they were rude - I'm not going to take that from anyone, and I'm just calling spade a spade so disgruntled wage slave sounds a perfect description to me.
My parents didn't pay for my truck or my cleaning bill - I bought my own truck and Sonic paid the cleaning bill so you can go f*ck yourselves both. My parents don't pay my way, I'm college educated and have a real career, I think I have earned the right to be pissed off when a lowly wage slave is rude to me and through THEIR carelessness ruins the interior of my beautiful truck that I busted my ### to earn.
I hope you get screwed over someday and someone tells you the same things you just said to me. Since I'm sure you're dregs of society, no manager would even take you seriously if this happened to you at a fast food place, you'd just look like another bum trying to cop a free meal. Think before you leave a stupid comment on someone's complaint. A word of advice if you don't want to look like a 13 year old boy fresh from the 4chan forums or a sick individual with a warped mind & sense of humor who thinks child abuse is funny, you should pick a different name than "ipunchbabies"
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
BAHAHAHAHAH Serves you right. I hope your interior was super expensive to clean. if you would of came to my store, I would of straight up laughed in your face. I hope you feel good about someone losing their job over a stupid hole in your cup...youre a monster.
I'm gonna have to go against the grain here and say I would've given that employee a piledriver they would not have soon forgotten.
