My husband and I purchased our Clayton home from a LUV Homes in March of 2022. We were told at that time our estimated move in date would be around the first or second week of June. Our home was delivered April 6th, 2022, we finally got to move in around the second week of June. When we moved into our new home, we still had things that were not finished in the trim out and the little trim out that was done, was awful. (see photos) On August 31st, 2022, My husband sent a text to our salesman; " Where are we at on finishing up this place? Still having the same issue with the septic leaching to the top of the ground, that hasn't been looked at yet. Still abnormally hot in the two end rooms on the house so what ever has been done there hasn't fixed the issue.
And the bathrooms have a septic smell in them which I'm not sure where that's coming from." The sales manager replied, "I'll look into it I wasn't aware there was still issues with the home I thought the temp on the ends of the house were fixed since I didn't hear anything after the last service was performed, I'll reach out to (contractors name) again on the septic." So, our salesman had no clue of the issues with our home... There was a while that we didn't hear anything from anyone including the contractors. My husband and I both took off work to sit at home while contractors came in and out. They never used their time wisely while here and would leave and say something like, I will have to come back another day, just get with me on a time that works for you. One day my husband took off, the contactor never even showed up.
On September 28th, 2022, my husband text our salesman again and asked for him to have his boss call him. Again on October 4th, my husband text and sent a photo of our kitchen drawer tracks falling apart due to only having one screw in each side which ended in the drawer falling and the plastic cracking where the one screw was placed. Our salesman never responded to the text. October 27th he texts our salesman again and asked if someone could call him asap, then another text asking who the emergency plumber was that they spoke to us about in our welcome home walk through but once again, our salesman never responded. We had shower pipes leaking behind the wall and flowing into our pantry.
As you can see from the photos attached, mold had began to grow. Which Luv's themselves apologized and said that was a Clayton manufacturing issue and they would get it taken care of. My large pantry was torn apart from October 29th, 2022, till the January 19th, 2023. When they did finally send someone out in January, my husband had to reach out to them before they even said they were coming back. The contractor that was supposed to come out sent another person to do the work for him, which that guy also busted my George Forman gill to pieces.
The contractor arrived at 11:40 and worked till 1. They didn't send all the materials and as of today, February 21st, 2023, my pantry is still missing a shelf.
My husband has reached out to them multiple times about the issues with our home. He has spoke to the General Manager a few times but now the General Manager won't call him back. On February 14th, 2023, he contacted Clayton homes directly about the issues. They said they would reach out to Luvs about the issue and Luvs would be contacting us... We still have issues that have never been fixed, no matter how many times we addressed them. Our floor is falling in from water pouring through when it rains. That has also been going on since 2023 but no one came to address the problem or even try to fix it!
With all that being said, this has been a terrible experience for us. Once they received their money, they were no longer concerned about us. I would never recommend anyone to them and will steer anyone who is looking for a home, AWAY FROM CLAYTON HOMES!

Recommendation: DO NOT BUT A CLAYTON HOME

What does Claytonhomes use to build these "homes," cardboard? Glad read lots of these reviews. Claytonhomes seem to not back what they build and to no provide customer service or satisfaction at all!
Thank you for taking your time to write these reviews and for the pics, I'll keep looking.
