Canadian Tire service seasonal and repair shop

A few months ago I purchased four winter tires and scheduled an appointment to have them installed. I arrive early for my appointment on a Friday afternoon and it took the only person in the garage 3. 5 hrs to change 4 tires. I complained after 2 hrs and was told he is the only staff on duty. When my vehicle was finally done they gave me a bottle of water for my time.
I then come last wknd to buy a patio set advertised in the Canadian tire flyer to find out they have none in the store they are at the warehouse. Im told to come back later in the day and they would have some in store stock and 1 on display.
Unfortunately the young lady who I spoke to a 2nd time, on my second trip there, continued with her millennial carefree attitude not realizing the customer is in fact who covers her paychecks and continued with" it will not be available and set up until the evening". I went to the assistant manager who was just as rude and carefree. He was far too busy defending his female employee to worry about the customer needs. I believe his name was Chris. I can finally see why these young folks have issues with working in life when their role model is no better than they are. The store manager was much more professional than his assistant in Cochrane Alberta. Needless to say I went to Walmart purchased a set and received not only great customer service but the seasonal store employee she actually helped load it onto my truck!

I will definitely NOT shop at Cochrane AB CTC. There are other stores that provide much better service in less time. Yes the drive would be 30 minutes further but at the end of the day based on the results so far, I will still be home sooner.

Canadian Tire stolen cart

Hello. Hamilton Upper James location, Sunday May 6, 1pm. Multiple young female staff descended upon my full cart 3 minutes after I walked away from it to hail a friend and within another few minutes had half of it put away!
I have a disability and it took me an hour to assemble my items. After a helpful young man located it, one of the girls came running and pretty much threw 2 items back in my cart. I asked the man if people abandoned their carts permanently very often and he said yes, I would be surprised. No, I wouldn't. No chance, no way. The vast, vast majority of abandoned carts are from people just like me who not as fast on their feet anymore.
Perhaps a sticker system, or hook tag? The first staff member to come across a cart could tag it with a time written on it. It's small effort, but if you're not helping customers there isn't much point is there?
Feeling like cattle at your large stores (you've closed you're amazing smaller ones) is pushing me more and more often to Home Hardware.

Canadian Tire lack of clarity regarding extra fees.

Order [protected]. Placed Saturday May 5th on line. Landscape trailer $1799.00 Plus GST.
I was phone later that morning and told that I need to come and make the payment so I could receive the documentation and then I could go get a licence plate. Fair and good.
No one said anything about extra fees and there is no mention of extra fees on the online order form.

When I got to the till after getting the paperwork I was told that there was an additional $150.00 fee. When I asked where that was in the purchase price no one could show it to me, I was told that is just the way it is. The sales rep told me it is in the flyer but he could not find it. Additionally it is no where to be found on the online order form.

My total purchase price on my online form was $1889.00 and that was my total. The staff tried to add the extra fee at which time I told them that I would not be making the purchase. The only disclaimer I can find is the fine print below the total which states that taxes and fees are subject to change which could change the total price.

My compliant is simple: If there is going to be an additional fee then it needs to be up front so the buyer knows before he or she gets to the till. Especially is this true with the online order system. Something as significant as $150.00 should be more clearly stated. Tires are shown with extra fees clearly stated. In my opinion this is an error on your part and customers are not able to make informed choices. This leaves your staff at a real disadvantage as they have no authority to make changes and they have to face the unhappy customers. Front line workers should not have to deal with this as you should be more detailed in your policies. I will still probably make the purchase so you are not out any money. That being said, I hope you will respond to me in some way. Thank you.

Canadian Tire battery warranty

Battery would not take a charge, bring it in on May 3/18. Battery purchased May 8th/17. I have the receipts and warranty information with me. Tested and failed. Owners daughter tells me it's not under warranty as its 12 months and I had it for the month of May last year, so its over 12m...WTF? I argue 12m is 1yr/52wks/365d. She says if she's not getting money back, I'm not. Called CT customer service and they agree with me warranty is from date of purchase. Owner now involved. Now says he's not honouring the warranty as he will put it on a high volt charger and refurbish it. he does, it passes right after. I take the battery to an electrician/mechanic shop. They do a Battery Conductance Test and it fails. Bring the batter back, desk tests it. Fails. Again the owner puts it on the charger/tester and says its fine now. I don't want a refurbished battery that fails minutes after leaving the store. Customer Service calls the store and owner and he still refused to replace the battery. What is the point of a warranty! In the hands of a Customer Service Investigator now...lesson learned. Shop elsewhere.

Canadian Tire customer service [protected]

I called on behalf of my girlfriend to get them to authorize us to use her paper with the card number and expiry date that you get before receiving the card. They removed the tw block and she was able to use her card at SportChek. I then needed to use mine for gas at the gas bar so I called in advance to get the block off and for them to authorize me to use the number for gas. The representive gave her name as Hailee and she was super rude to me. When I explained the situation she said "that that's not how it works" with a rude tone in her voice. I said I called on behalf of my girlfriend and they did it for her so why can't you do it for me. She said again in a rude tone "I'm telling you that's not how it works". I am unterly disappointed with the rude customer service I received when calling. They need to get the facts about the card straight and not treat the CH's differently. I could not feel more disrespected right now and more disappointed. The only good thing that came out of it was the customer service in store. But over he phone customwr service was horrible!

Canadian Tire noma products is not what I was looking for in the first place

Please allow me to return the BARR. AL. 12 P. USB (79.99$) Operateur : 40115 CAISSE : 61. # TRANS: 220 on 04/30/2018 at 21:01:47. Canadian Store #401, 6700 Cote des Neige.

When I went to the Cote des Neiges Store last night, they simply don't have what I have requested : a surge power protector. They made me run to one department to another when they finally sent me to an old Quebecer guy. He sold me the 'best' of their power bars. Result : 91$ less in my studio budget for someting I don't need ( this is a personal constatation).

So Congradulation to the Noma brand (house brand) who might have a legalistic policy ! According to a guy who used to work for Canadian Tire, this brand is cheap crap. I'm not sure if it is true, but I definitely want to give my precious electronic devices a chance to survive the worst of electric failures or irregular fluctuation possible. I am doubting th 4300 joules ability to do that.

The Home guy recommended Philip's brand. He now works for Home Depot Plateau Mont Royal).

I wish to return it because I know that I can get something better. Plus, the Noma brand don't have the AVR option nor the battery back UPS (uninterrupted power surge), something essential for a home recording/Control audio/digital workstation/room, specially in the end of the end times (or the end of the last days).

I will get the Apc UPS (schneider product) wich is what I really need :

-https://www.amazon.com/APC-Compact-Protector-Back-UPS-BX1500M/dp/B06VY6FXMM?SubscriptionId=AKIAIKOHFALUJCKC3KXQ&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B06VY6FXMM&linkCode=xm2&psc=1&tag=bestprice_us_yahoo_desktop-20&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER.

The Canadian Tire staffs were not able/humble/honest enough to tell me they did not have what I needed or to confess that what I was asking for was beyond their knowledge comfort.

I am very disappointed by the level of service I did not get as I observe that the company's values are not aligned with what I expect should be in the land of Canada, where healing should flow out of our leaves, and obviously this former employee of yours did not have peace when he left being at your service.

2 Chronicle 2.14 mentions that «if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.»

Please allow me to return the BARR. AL. 12 P. USB (79.99$) Operateur : 40115 CAISSE : 61. # TRANS: 220 on 04/30/2018 at 21:01:47. Canadian Store #401, 6700 Cote des Neige.

Sincerely,

Alain

Canadian Tire yardworks hose connection splitter

I was wondering why my Canadian Tire Yardworks hose connection two-way splitter was leaking despite replacing the gasket between the house outlet & splitter. After removing the leaking splitter, I found the cheap cast aluminum metal behind the gasket on the splitter had failed, and there was no longer a proper seal.

I would like to have Canadian Tire replace the splitter with a more robustly-made unit, or give me a refund.

Canadian Tire recent inability to use my american express corporate card for pay at the pump service

I have used my AmEx card at the gas bar in Amherstburg for several years with no difficulty. Recently, ie 2-3 months, my card has not been accepted for pay at the pump service. It is inconvenient to have to go into the kiosk each time to pay for gas, ie lock the car, inclement weather, delays other customers who have to wait for me to come back out to move my car. Also, several other customers have voiced complaints when they heard me voicing my concerns, re the same situation but pertaining to debit cards, Visa etc. Each time I am given a different, unsatisfactory reason, ie there is a work order on that pump, it is too cold for the pump, I will report it to my boss etc etc.
A speedy resolution to this problem would be greatly appreciated by all of us who have experienced this inconvenience repeatedly recently in Amherstburg ON

Canadian Tire inappropriate service

Incident occurred on Sunday April 23 2018. Manager in duty for the Automotive Service Store on Wonderland rd. On Saturday morning I took my car for a flat tire to be fixed up. On Sunday morning I discovered that the same tire was flat again which it means my tire was not repaired properly. In the afternoon when I came back, my tire was not repaired because according with the manager the tire had four nails. The day after I had to take my car to my mechanic who discovered that the tire had just two nails.

I asked for my money back since I consider Canadian Tire Automotive did not give a proper service. I have sent few messages to the manager, Mr Davison, who has ignored my emails even though he told me he would call the next day to let me know the decision about my complaint.

Thank you so much for your soon response

Canadian Tire automotive service

I called the Cambridge, Ontario - Pinebush location to book an automotive service appointment on April 27th at approximately 4:15pm. I was on hold for over 12 minutes so called back to ensure someone was in the department. The person who answered the phone said there were 5 people in the department but wouldn't take a call if there were customers. She apogoized but was flip and unconcerned and said I would just have to wait. I understand that staff may be dealing with customers but I'm a customer too. She then put me through to a voicemail that said they were extremely busy and to go on-line to order. No option to speak with anyone or to leave a message. Very poor service.

Canadian Tire customer service

I had horrible experience with Canadian Tires (store#674) at 656 Erbs street West, Waterloo, Ontario. I bought a pillow but a few days later I discovered that it was not even and had poor quality. So, I kept the receipt and the pillow inside the original zipper bag to get a refund on Feb. 24, 2018.

There is only one word to describe my encounter with you and that is unacceptable. First of all, The store manager Mr. Chad said I could not return it because it was a pillow. However, when I first purchased it, Canadian Tires did not tell me pillows were non-refundable. This policy wasn't on front nor back of the receipt either. Then, I asked if I could see the policy. The manager ignored my very simple request. All he did was give a firm no and gave no room for discussion.

I went to a different store to get a refund and the lady was willing to do it. Is the "no pillow refunds" policy only at the #674 specific store? However, she discovered that my receipt had become invalid and she was just as confused as I was. She said I might need to go back to the original store and ask. Then, I called the customers service department. The operator apologized for the terrible experience and mailed the store credit to me.

This bad experience had struggled in my mind for 2 months. Today I decide to write a complaint. What I would like to know is, did someone did something to my receipt? It would be terrible if this were the truth. I can't believe Canadian Tires would let this happen.

Canadian Tire auto repair

On april 15 we were in hamilton (live in brantford). Early in the afternoon ran over some debris from an accident. We get our spare on and get to the upper james location at 5pm. We are told they wont sell us tires and put them on because there is only an hour left in the day! We got stuck twice on the way home trying to drive with the spare on in that awful weather. Thanks for nothing. I will take all of my business elsewhere.

Canadian Tire work estimate didn't reflect final price

Passerby told me I had tire going flat. It was full enough to drive. Went to Canadian Tire near Finch and Dufferin. These are snowtires purchased and installed by Canadian Tire less than four months ago. Was quoted $11.30 to check and repair tire. Handed me a work estimate to sign for $40-something. I said "What happened to $11.30?" Was handed another work estimate for $11.30. Signed it. About an hour later, was told I had a brake light and reverse light out. "It might be pricey." "What's pricey?" "About $25-30." I said ok. An hour later, they call me to pay. They hand me an invoice for $112. The tire work was supposed to be done under warranty. I ask where the extra amount came from. "Labour." I am really ready to leave, so I leave. But then I thought -- I don't even know what the original problem was. So I called back. They said it was a leaky tire valve. I ask why the labour was so expensive. They say they needed to balance the tires. I have had work done at Canadian Tire and other places before -- the labour was always part of the work estimate. Why not this time? It seems questionable. I was far away from home and needed the car. So I paid. But that does not make me want to recommend Canadian Tire to anyone.

Canadian Tire auto service

Saturday I was unable to turn on my vehicle nor to unlock the steering wheel (2008 Mercedes C-300). I did some search on google and YouTube trying to figure out what the problem could be. Despite I am not a mechanic, I was able to figure out it was the Steering Column Module. Before calling a tow truck, I called Canadian tire, Shawnessy, Calgary, AB. explained the issues and told them "most probably" it is the steering column module, would you be able to fix it" the answer was yes!

Had the car towed to CT, I asked a mechanic on the floor, if the steering column is the issue, would you be able to fix? the answer came positive for the second time!

CT mentioned that they would be able to look at the vehicle only today (Monday) morning. Around 8:20 am today I received a call from the auto-shop advising that the Steering Column Module is the issue and they can't fix it!

They asked me to get a toe truck to take the car to the dealer. I called the customer service to file a complain asking for the following, CT to toe the truck at their own expenses (since I paid to toe it to their auto-shop on Saturday) and to wave the inspection fee.

30 minutes later, I received a call from the auto-shop manager advising that they are sorry but there is nothing they can do to help. He mentioned they can waive the $75 inspection fee but I have to toe the truck at my own expenses (they would be around $200 for towing the car twice).

The Auto-shop manager also asked me to call him personally next time to see if they can deal with the car issues or not (means the mechanics and other auto staff aren't accountable).

I called the customer service again to escalate the issue to the branch general manager and still waiting to see what he would decide.

This is to confirm that Stephen McDonald, general manager at CT, contacted me and showed a very professional attitude in listening to my complaints and agreed not only to waive the inspection fee but also to refund the full amount of towing the vehicle. Thanks Stephen.

Canadian Tire my request was ignored. very rude.

I was the part-time Anglican priest for the village of Foleyet. I live in Timmins ON. I went to the Timmins store and asked if the church in Foleyet could get a donation from Canadian Tire (Gift card). Incredibly I had to apply in writing but I brought no pen, paper, or laser printer with me. I wrote out my name, phone number, and email on paper provided by the store. I waited. No response...not even a call to check if I were legitimately a priest. I went back, wrote yet another note. Yes, it was handwritten but so what? All the information was accurate and verifiable with a simple call or email! Same result. No response. To ignore a request for charity is quite rude and does not fit the Canadian Tire myth of engagement with the local community. Needless to say I will not be shopping at Canadian Tire again.

Canadian Tire auto repair

I had horrible experience with Canadian Tire 497 where is located 5970 Mavis
Road, Mississauga On L5V 2P5.
I purchased 4 new tires from Canadian Tire for my 2003 Hummer H2.
Few years later, the noise coming from the wheels.
Auto service told that I had to replace wheel bearing, front shock & alignment. Did it on Aug.2016 but no improvement but got worse.
Today noticed that all front & back inner tires worn out.
This is obviously mis-alignment & I requested re-alignment but denied.
They said it caused by f/r shock & front component and suggested to by new tires again.
Totally doesn't make any sense.
I mentioned that I replaced the shock less than 2 years as per Canadian Tire.
The service adviser (Anthony Dhaniram) is a story maker and the manager (Jason Shevlen) doesn't want to involve at all.
They denied to refund the shock cost even they believe the shock causing problem.
Angry, Frustrating & Cheated. I never want to go this place again.
Can you please looking to this issues?

Canadian Tire rude cashier.

Today as i was checking out my purchase a cashier with redish or pink hair was ringing me through. Her name tag said "Tiara" and she was being unbelievably rude for no reason. I don't know if she was just having a bad day but being called an idiot and being berated infront of other customers is appaling. I will be taking a break from this store and hopefully can return when the staff is more accomidating.

Canadian Tire auto service

My car had no vibration at highway speed, it ran smooth as silk . Took my car in for new front break rotors because under breaking conditions the break pedal bounced . The day I got my car back I drove it home on city streets, didn't go faster than 50km ( maybe 55km ) . The next day I drove it to work, as soon as I hit 60 km my steering wheel started to vibrate, at 110 km . I got off the freeway and took surface streets to work . I stopped in at Canadian Tire to tell them about the vibration . I was told they were understaffed that day and that I should call back in a few days . Well my cars been parked and I've been taking my wife's truck to work . I think when they repacked the wheel bearings they didn't torque them properly . I'll be taking my car to another shop to find out what's going on . I don't trust CTC to fix it right .
