Multiple workers and people donating were not wearing masks. This is a "medical" facility. I shouldn't have to worry about my health because others are careless.
Desired outcome: Everyone should be wearing a mask🙂
Discrimination
I followed all the instructions for the application process and had my doctor fill out your paperwork and approve me. But since I was hospitalized in September 2021 biolife rejected me today 3/29/2022 till September 2022. The hospitalization was not for depression or suicide and should have nothing to do with my application process.
Desired outcome: Would like to be approved
Banned for no fault of my own
August 8 2021 I was on the machine for way longer than I normally am and had had two adjustments already. Was told when I intially came that my left arm did not have a good enough vein so my right was always used. Gm proceeded to tell me that she was going to try my other arm. My plasma bottle was about 80% full and even though i was on the machine for...

I was deferred from donating plasma due to history of Retinoblastoma cancer, 40 years ago! Never received any chemo or radiation, been in remission since with zero restrictions, even able to donate blood. I then found a “testimonial” on donatingplasma.org website of people with EXACT same history able to donate! They didn’t care and basically told me to leave.
Desired outcome: Reversal of deferral
Denied records expungement
Greetings! My name is Heath Garrard and I have just been denied as a donor due to my type 2 diabetes and high A1C, which makes sense. I’m interested in having all record(s) of me expunged. I just spoke to the manager of the Cheyenne, Wy, Biolife center, I couldn’t make out her name, and she coldly and rudely told me there is no way to delete my...

Medical assistant made donor cry
At the biolife location in Mankato I had a medical assistant ask me a personal question in the lobby in front of others when I told her it was personal she forced me to tell her with others watching. She then very rudely said "we need to have a talk " and finally brought me to a private room and then proceeded to be rude and make me cry. She made me feel terrible about my self and continued to make me cry.
Read full review of BioLife Plasma ServicesTreated very poorly at Biolife Omaha, Ne-Banned from donating without reason.
I became a new donor at Biolife in Omaha, Ne in early 2021. I had never donated plasma before and this was my first experience doing so. The first few times were fine. The 3rd time, however, I became very dizzy and almost fainted. I had to stay after the clinic closed. I stayed with the nurse and told her that I had not eaten enough or drank enough water and that I took my blood pressure pill later that day which all contributed to my low blood pressure. She was extremely rude and demanded that she have my doctor's name and contact information. I gladly gave it to her and she sent a form to my doctor to fill out, which she did and approved me for plasma donation. At the time I was with the nurse, I mentioned that I had broken my right wrist in the past and sometimes felt it go numb but dib not think I had any nerve issues. Based on that, she said if it went numb, I must have nerve issues and that she would send this information to my doctor? She had a major power trip and pretty much stated that I would not be able to donbate if I did nit have good veins in both arms becasue of nerve damage in my right wrist which again I NEVER told her I had and my doctor apprived me for plasma donation. She was very excited and happy to tell me that. So, I went back in later that week to have my arms checked for good veins and I only had good veoins in my right arm. I was told the doctor said I needed good veins in both arms. So, I said fine and went on to another plasma clinic where K have been donating since with no issues and using my arm that I supposedly can not use because I have nerve damage, (which I don't have)! This particular nurse seemed to have mental issues, as well. It was a very starnge experience. She was very happy to tell me I could not donate poer the doctor because of nerve damage.. lol.. I don't have nerve damage and this clinic was much closer to me than the one I have been going to for a year now, without incident, using my right arm only. I would like someone to contact me if possible. I am sure that others have had similar experiences with this nurse and you are losing a lot of donors. I can not remember the nurse's name but I believe it was Karen. Thank you!
Desired outcome: I would like someone to contact me and I would like to be able to donate at this clinic again.

Terrible
Hi, I would like for someone to reach out to me pertaining to me taking my precious time to come after a hard day of work to come and donate my plasma that God has bless me with, I don’t want anyone mistreating me because of my skin color, I spoke with the supervisor about my promotion that will end on 3/28/22, I share with her that I came on Sunday and they doors where locked before three o’clock. I share with the assistance manager about my promotion and she stated too me that this is not a source of income, I was truly offended and I had to politely excuse my self because I didn’t want to say anything rude towards her. This is a place to give your plasma to help people not too be put down, I have been told by my Caucasian counter partners that they have received extension on their promotion,
I here other Biolife workers tell the Caucasian patients when there next visit is for there promotion.
Desired outcome: Please call me [protected]

BioLife donation center in San Bernardino inexperienced phlebotomist
I went to donate at BioLife in San Bernardino California on March 12th 2022. They had this girl named Stacy stick which was not experienced at all I could tell by the way she was handling the vacuum tubes and needles. When she stuck me she went way too far and then continued to push the needle in even more. She started the machine and a huge hematoma formed where the needle was stuck. I was in so much pain.
Desired outcome: Send all the phlebotomists back to school to be retrained. Hire phlebotomists that have had two plus years experience not right out of phlebotomy school. And lastly get compensated for the money I could have earned had not this happened.

Checked in at the center in Baton Rouge at 1:03 pm for a 1:00 appt. I was told I could not donate because I was 3 minutes late. I have donated over 60 times in the last 2 years and never have had any complaints. However, the last month I have had to spend close to 3 hours donating because of a bed wait. So the fact that I was turned down for 3 minutes is totally unacceptable and disrespectful of my time. They are even working on the parking lot at the center so the three minutes could be blamed on looking for a spot and walking farther! I scheduled this appt three days ago. Why would they continue to accept appointments if they don’t have enough staff to do the work?

BioLife center 1960 & Eldridge
Good morning, for about a little over a week the restrooms in this public center have been out of order, as a returning donor the wait times can be very long and as a person needing to be hydrated using the restroom right before donating is pretty much needed. I hope this issue is resolved as needing to use the restroom is essential to some who have full bladders.

On 3-16-22 I went to donate at the Jacksonville, FL location. This is my second time at this location and 6th time donating overall. (I previously went to the Lakeland, FL location. They were always professional here.) Not long into my donation blood starting coming out of the insertion point (where the needle enters). This obviously freaked me out as I have never had this occur. I called for the nurse and after a while she came to help. She asked if I wanted to continue in the other arm but I was shaking badly from the scare and declined. She agreed that I was shaking badly. I was told to wait for half an hour to make sure I was ok since I lost blood and didn’t receive it back or get saline. As I was leaving I saw I only received 20$ rather then the 80$ I was supposed to receive from my coupon. I asked what the issue was only to be met with an attitude & told it was my choice not to continue donating. This frustrated me because both my boyfriend and friend have had situations occur (passing out due to lack of eating and issues with inserting needle) to where they were fully compensated without finishing the session. I was taken into a nurses room and she said due to my “anxiety” of blood I should not be donating. I said I do not have a blood anxiety, I have no problem donating. I drove 30 minutes here to do this. I only freaked out because a lot of blood came out of where the needle was inserted, and it shook me up. This does not normally occur and wouldn’t have occurred if the needle had been inserted correctly. They made me feel like this error was my fault, did not compensate me the $80, and I did not like how this situation was handled. If there was proper protocol of payment in situations I would understand, but I have personally witnessed multiple people being properly compensated in these situations, and I don’t understand how it is my fault this occurred. I was told the blood came out because she did not insert the needle correctly and fully on the vein which causes the leak. I have pictures of the blood coming out and of the bruise/hematoma I now have on my arm. I did not feel comfortable or ok to do my other arm when this is occurring. I don’t appreciate being treated like this as a returning donor, or not being compensated for my time properly after being there longer then I would have if it had gone smoothly.
Desired outcome: Correct payment Respect for returning donors, not to be guilt tripped.

Issues not being addressed but ignored
On the 14 of March 2022 I went in for my donation of a payout of 100$ plus my $15 bonus, because my donation on the 12th of March 2022 was 20$ plus 15$ bonus. When I saw my payout on the 14th it was only for 20$ plus $15 again. Understanding there could have been a computer glitch I called to resolve the issue. No one answered even though the store was open and left a message which never got returned. This is the 3rd time my questions or issues have gone ignored. The end of February I had questions regarding my promotion and spoke with a sweet lady named Margo.. I explained that no one returns my calls when I leave messages and half the time the store won’t answer the phone even though I’m calling during store hours. She told me she would let someone know to contact me but again. Silence. So I feel ignored and unvalued especially with my patience and understanding when I set an appointment for a specific time, but it’s busy so I wait over an hour just to be take. To the donation chair. This makes me feel again.. like I’m not valued. If this issue goes again without resolution I will take my donations to another company where I will be valued and questions answered.
This was the Joplin Missouri location again on the 3/14/2022
Desired outcome: Proper payout and a response from the company with an apology for continuing to ignore my concerns and questions.

Donation Baiting and Practices
I have been a long time donor at BioLife, since the opening of the Las Vegas on Maryland Ave center and for as long as I have donated at that particular center the only aggravation I came across was appointment wait times. I find this is a problem regardless of location. However, since transferring to my new center in Baton Rouge Louisiana the entire donation process has been a disappointing and absolutely horrible experience! Obviously the appointment wait time is absurd. I always wait for a minimum of 30 mins after the questioner and the vitals have been done. This does not include the wait for the vitals, which would usually go pretty smoothly until new donors come to the front of the line and move everyone back again. This has happened up to 4 times in a wait! This is unacceptable. Treating returning donors as less than important and having them push back the line repeatedly while waiting to do vitals is bad customer practice and creates aggravated angry donors before they even reach the vitals station, which at that time has donors so angry they end up failing the vitals or just walking out. Vitals are also an aggravation, to do them is understood and agreed upon, however to wait for the ONE person who can do a protein check is ridiculous. The time it takes to begin the donation process once in the donation chair should not take as long as it does either. Waiting for the tech to wash down chairs to seat more people while waiting for the venipuncture should not take 20 minutes or more. As well as the procedure for lab fails. I had labs drawn on my 2nd visit, went to my 3rd visit, and on 4th visit I was told I couldn't do my 4th donation because my labs showed my protein .1 lower than BioLife allows for donation. I was told I had to come back in a week and have labs drawn and then wait another 7-10 days then get the results to determine if I could donate. I asked if I needed to make an appointment for this and I was told to just come in and tell them I need labs, no appointment was needed. I asked if I could then just have the protein check done at that time and proceed with the donation since I'm on a return donor payment schedule and I was informed no they can't do that. This literally makes no sense. I have a protein check done Everytime I go for my vitals, the last 3 times the check was clear and within range, in between the labs being drawn and after, but now at the end of the payment schedule when the payments are at the highest I am told I have to wait a total of 7-10 days to even see if my protein is on target range to donate again which conveniently will void my return donor bonuses I was eligible for and put me back to the lowest donor payment process. This is donation payment baiting and it's not the first time it has happened. I really thought this company had some sort of integrity but I have been proven wrong time and time again. I will not be returning again and will be informing everyone I have referred there and would refer in the future to stick with CSL or Griffols. The nasty attitudes and the long wait times that we have to endure are bad enough but to make up excuses for not paying your donors when they are at high payouts is really just more bad business practices.
Desired outcome: Consider your reg donors as valuable as your new ones. In my case, the nurse could've ckd my protein and had my labs drawn as well since as she stated no appt was needed for this This is either laziness or bad SOP.
