I have been donating plasma for over 2 years and have never been turned away for my hematocrit, today at BioLife an employee did my finger stick and took two drops of blood into the testic and then proceeded to tell me that my hematocrit was 37 when I asked her to retest it she told me that they couldn't which I know is not true because it can be retested but I also told her I've never had a low hematocrit but I've also never had somebody only take two drops of blood from my finger there was barely any blood in the test stick.
Desired outcome: More training for their employees on how to test the hematocrit.
BioLife Plasma Services - Blood plasma donation
I went to go donate plasma filed the paperwork and was at the end of my physical after answering the medical questionnaire when she offered me crackers. I turned them down because I have celiac‘s disease. She publicly he told me that I cannot donate plasma due to my autoimmune disease. I feel embarrassed and lied to as well as discriminated against because it was never mentioned in any of the paperwork. She publicly told me that I was not allowed to ever donate plasma due to my condition. I wasted 2 1/2 hours just sitting there waiting when somebody could’ve told me at any given point in time that if you have XYZ thing wrong with you that you cannot donate plasma. I was also told that they cannot list all of the medical conditions that would defer me permanently because I could lie. How am I supposed to make a decision if I do not have all of the information it is ridiculous and it is cruel to do that.
