I donated plasma on 6/2 everything seemed fine once they poked me with the needle but after the first return I knew something was wrong. It was busy so no one could help me, someone finally came over and I felt like my bicep was going to explode. It was hard and very uncomfortable. He took it out and proceeded to try the other arm but then he said we were done for the night and he got the nurse. She came over and said might be bruising but I’ll be fine, gave me a Gatorade some goldfish and that was it. I went home crying and I’m so much pain. My arm was so swollen. The next day I went in and the nurse was so nonchalant about it and said some bruising was normal and that was it. Over the next couple of days the swelling got worse, the bruising got worse and the pain got worse. On 6/7 I went to the hospital to run some tests and do an ultrasound. Every nurse said they have never seen it this bad
Mounds view BioLife not letting donate because of house arrest
I had to see the nurse for new medication and a bruise so I let him know I was on house arrest cuz I only had so much time and that just led to him asking more questions about my house arrest in finally sent me out to donate and then 5 minutes later he comes and gets me tells me they don't know the policy of somebody that's on house arrest if they can let them donate I talked to the manager they didn't know the policy either kind of think it's a little bit invasion of privacy and there is no reason to not let somebody donate just because they have a GPS so they wasted a half an hour of my time and then let me know that I couldn't donate and invade my privacy
Permanent deferment
I was going to one plasma donation center but I was dissatisfied because they let some people skip me and once I complained I just stopped going to the facility so I went and started going to BioLife I went and donated plasma one time but when I went back to donate the second time I had issues they made me come in three different times on three different occasions only to tell me I will be permanently deferred because of the understanding that I have went to another facility prior to coming to them if they had to explain the situation to me and we talked about it it could have been resolved without me being deferred because I no longer go to the other plasma center so a permanent deferral I don't think it's justified especially if I didn't understand the rules I never tried to do plasma donation at two different locations because I value my life so for them to permanent defer me without even really discussing the situation with me and getting a better understanding I think was too extreme
Desired outcome: Permanently deferred
Permanent deferral
Hello, My name is Jill Beaudoin and I have been donating since BioLife opened in Tempe AZ. I had two medical issues they wanted clearance from my doctor. I answered the questions on the form and my doctor looked it over and then signed the form. BioLife permanently deferred me. They said I forged the form. My doctor read the form and he signed it so I disagree with this. I offered to have them call my doctor or I would have my doctor resend the form from the doctors office. I feel if they wanted to punish me then defer me for a period. Deferral for life is ridiculous. I feel like if plasma is needed so bad, you shouldn’t be deferred for frivolous things. Thank You
Desired outcome: I would like to have my doctor send the forms from his office and I would like to be able to donate again and help people.
Injury due to improper placement of needle
I went to the BioLife located in Tempe, AZ. and the phlebotomist that did the needle placement for me lodged the needle in too deep causing too much pressure. After the plasma draw was done my arm felt awful and heavy. I have limited mobility in my arm and immense swelling. Contacted them and they plainly told me that they gave me a hematoma. Something truly has to change, specifically the training that the phlebotomist receive. It’s usually a hit or miss when going in because not everyone is good at needle placement.
Desired outcome: Every time an injury like this occurs donors should receive a sum of compensation and their training needs to be improved so as to avoid instances such as these.
Staff
Initially started donating at the beginning of the pandemic. Stopped due to excessive lines and snotty staff. The blaring rap music didn’t help either. Stopped going for about 10 months, lines were better but staff is still snotty. More worried about making plans than seeing to patients/customers. And God help you if your a women. The young ladies are so blatantly obvious of their rudeness I’ve had to laugh. After yet another snotty encounter on the the phone this morning , I’ve decided to look into other facilities that will perhaps treat people better.
Desired outcome: Discuss with the staff at liberty no location off of 82nd st.
Privacy violation / bad experience
Hello. I have just returned to this Good holmes rd center in Orlando FL and an employee was extremely rude to me and violated my privacy. I was getting screened and the front desk employee was hovering over my screening from start to finish, when I politely asked that employee, which her name is Sophia, if she could please step back I need to ask my...

I have 3 complaints about the manager I believe she is the manager I donate plasma on a regular basis o don't have a vehicle so I have to find rides eveytime I go to donate the first complaint is that my ride got detained and couldn't pick me up didn't know until way after the time I was done donating so I sat down in 1 of the chairs to use my phone to find another ride I was informed by the so called lady manager that I was not allowed to sit in a chair that I had to go stand in the entryway no matter how long it took for me to get another ride I cannot stand for a lengthy time my legs start to hurt really bad she did not care she was totally rude and not a nice person the 2nd compliant on the same person and again told me no one could be in the building sitting or standing if they were not donating so once again had to stand in the entryway for my ride there was nobody sitting in the chairs by the doors but was still told even though I have a problem with my legs I couldn't sit the 3rd compliant is about the same person I went to donate yesterday I gave an employee my coupon code so I could get $70 per donation for 8 donations when I got to my ride I checked and I only got paid $20 so I knocked on the door to talk to someone so this could be corrected the nurse with the blonde hair was super nice understood my problem and was trying to fix it when the so called manager came out from somewhere and once again was as rude as she could be told me they I shouldn't have been let back in the building that there was nothing she could do to fix the problem with the $50 I didn't get paid I asked her so do I need to come in tomorrow to get it fixed she said no I was gonna have to be out the $50 and on my next donation would start the coupon I said so I'm out the $50 she said yes that it would start in my next donation I gave the employee the code so I could get the $70 I needed the money to go get groceries and once again she didn't care was rude I asked her for the corporate phone number and she said she didn't have it I told her I know she did and I walked out the door. This person with the dark hair in a ponytail who is supposed to be the manager should not be in that position the blond nurse she was super nice and wonderful I stopped going to BioLife due to that woman idk if I will go back again I did nothing wrong to have her treat me as badly as she did if she doesn't like me that's her problem but people in management are not to treat customers the way she has done. I also feel I was discriminated for being somewhat handicapped
Desired outcome: Would like that lady to be written up or terminated and and for me to get the $50 I didn't receive

As I arrived to the location I collected myself an grew confidence to finally do this. As I was walking in I saw an employee get out of her silver mercedes. she had dark hair, tattoos, a...

I had created an account on Thursday May 26th and set an appointment for the 27th in the afternoon. I went to the appointment and it was so hectic and chaotic environment that my anxiety (that I rarely get) was triggered and when I went to do my vitals the deferred me because my heart rate was too high. Ok... Fine, so I set a new appointment for the next morning since it will be Saturday and a little more calmer. I go to the appointment and everything is good, and then I get called up by this girl who looked like she was 12 years old. She is like kind of nervous and now I am sure she was new. She goes to poke my finger and nothing happens, she missed or didn't do it right and then she tries again on the other finger and again same thing! Then they proceed to tell me that they can only poke me twice, even though they didn't even poke me once, and that I would have to come back for a third time! I said no, I am never going back there again. Very bad experience. But I want to be removed from there system and not have anything to do with them.
Desired outcome: Remove me from the system and delete all my information.

Service in general
I'm trying to get more information on becoming a donor and prepare myself for my appointment in entirety before scheduling one online and there has been no answer everytime I try to call. The website states stipulations are site specific so without access to information I will be walking into an appointment unprepared if I do schedule due to lack of service and that's not really the type of people I want handling my medical needs. No customer service or corporate number to call either.
Desired outcome: Service.

Disrespected and disregarded
As I was coming in for my donation I arrived at 7:04pm and went straight to the kiosk. I was able to start my questionnaire. When I was approached by a front desk staff member and rudely was repeatedly told they don’t have 7:00pm appointments I insisted that my appointment was for 7:00pm she argued very rudely with me and insisted that I was lying and I didn’t have a 7:00pm appointment. I then began to show her I did have a appointment at 7:00pm on my biolife app she insisted I would not be donating there and that there is no such appointment at 7:00pm. I asked for a manager and a supervisor validated they do in fact have a 7:00pm appointment. I have been told by many staff members that there is a 4 minute grace period. I had made my appointment within the grace period. I was very happy. Until the very rude disrespectful staff member approached me. She not only completely disregarded me but I can honestly say she also embarrassed me by how she treated me. I donate not for the compensation alone but primarily because my father had a plasma transfusion which helped him overcome COVID 19.
It makes it very hard when people act very rude and unprofessional. I really do hope this doesn’t happen again. Up until this point I had enjoyed coming into this facility. But after this unpleasant encounter. I may have to change locations if not give up on my future donations. Never have I been so rudely treated in a professional environment.
Desired outcome: I would like to be contacted via email or cellphone please, in regards to this very unfortunate matter. Cell phone: 832-334-8461Email: [protected]@gmail.com
Donating
The experience I had donating was so awful that it detoured me from ever wanting to donate again and also is leading me to warn everyone I know not to go here.
Firstly, I showed the woman doing the initial finger [censored] my ‘BioLife’ app that included the coupon I was using that day. She was unable to find the coupon in the system so had someone else come over and try to find it. As they were both unable to find the coupon in their system they told me to proceed with the process and begin my donation, and at the end they would provide a matching coupon code to coincide with the one I provided on my app.
As I was starting the donating process, the phlebotomist begins putting the needle in my arm. An immediate pain was shooting up and down, throughout my arm. She proceeded to keep digging the needle vigorously in my arm stating my “vein was swimming around.” She then asks another phlebotomist in that section to assist, and as the other phlebotomist was walking over a massive hematoma began forming. The sight of the hematoma mixed with the agonizing vein digging made me pass out for a few seconds and feel close to vomiting.
They were asking for assistance from other sections and no one was helpful in assisting them. They proceeded to ask if I wanted to continue to my surprise. I abruptly answered no and wanted to get out of there as soon as humanly possible.
The nurse took me to her office and made sure my vitals were okay. During that time, the manager, I’m assuming, came over to talk to me about the coupon. She said the coupon on my app was ‘invalid,’ and could only be used at the Boise location. Its so misleading and seems like they are playing games or trying to trick the people coming in. They said the location on the app changes, but the location that I go to and only one I’ve donated at is in Nampa. Why would the app automatically fill in the Boise location? This, tied in with the extremely painful needle digging incident left me feeling traumatized and disgusted by the facility.
I understand that people have different reasons for coming her, but the overall objective of these places are to use plasma to help people in need. Why would they treat the people donating their plasma so poorly? It’s been 5 days since and my arm is still in so much pain and severely bruised. I’m so disappointed by this entire situation and felt the need to write this in hopes of preventing this from happening again. Reimbursement for this experience should be provided.
Desired outcome: Compensation
Techs not being trained and supervised correctly
So I going to donate and I get a tech that is her first day working for BioLife she continues to [censored] my finger without her visor on then she goes to fill up the test tube and I tell her to put a visor on so she stops feeling the test tube up lays it on the counter put your visor on picks the test too bad and then continues to fill it up sticks it in the machine forgets to start the machine until after she's already taking all my vitals so in the machine finally just finished doing what it's supposed to be doing she pulls it out lays it back on the counter then picks it up puts it on the machine and starts pressing buttons really quickly and then tells me that my numbers are too low and now I'm deferred I travel in the morning on public transportation clean across town for a improperly trained technician to run a test that she doesn't even know how to operate cost me $45 and all I can say well sorry there's nothing we can do but watch it from here on out they should have been watching it for the very beginning
Desired outcome: Todays payment being made of 45.00 i expected to be paid today.
Managment
The managers at the BioLife in Pomona are unprofessional, rude, and don't even know how to do their jobs. There were 2 managers specifically working Friday may 20th, who were extremely rude to a concerned customer. They didn't even give him any advice or try and fix his situation. Instead they made him leave and when he did, the guy said something to the...

I posted on here weeks ago and only response I ever got was that they would pass my info on to the powers that be and they would respond soon. What a joke. All anyone has done is totally ignore me and the situation. This company doesn't care about the donors at all because they have more than they can handle already. All about the money
10 year donor of over 650 donations at the Bellingham, WA location
Desired outcome: communication
Service
The Tukwilla, WA location needs to either stop taking so many people or just do appointments till they get more employees. I had an appointment and been here an hour and still haven’t had anyone come hook the machine up/start my donation. All beds are full and there is 6 people in line waiting for a bed & 8 people waiting in line for vitals. If I didn’t live 45min away I would leave.
Desired outcome: Fix the problem
First time donor
I had a interesting visit at the San Bernardino BioLife plasma Center. I arrived at my appointment that I scheduled online at 1:20 PM when I checked in with the Woman at the front she asked me the last time I eat I told her I had a meal at 10 PM the night before and I had an English muffin and some coffee for breakfast she said. In a very condescending way...

On may 18, 2022 at 4:30 my autistic Dyslexic husband Jamall Lyles went in as a new donor telling the staff upon arrival of his disabilities and they proceeded to make him do the questionnaire by himself. No accommodations were made on his behalf resulting in him being unable to donate and after he failed the required questionnaire they proceeded to tell him to make another appointment wasting his time going up the the facility and the money spent getting there and I believe he was discriminated against due to his disabilities and I don’t believe it was fair to him.
Desired outcome: He would like to be compensated and an apology for him going up there and for them to treat him in this manner.
