On 4/24/19, I went in for my periodic exam. I was informed that I needed $1, 631 worth of work done to my teeth plus a $135 toothbrush, and that Aspen could arrange financing. I went ahead and did it since Aspen Dental is the only place that accepts my dental insurance. When I received my Explanation of Benefits, my insurance said I should have been charged $1, 388 for the dental work plus the $135 for the tooth brush, for a total of $1, 523. This means the amount financed should have been $1, 493 since I made a $30 in-office payment on 04/24/19. So, not only was my finance agreement over-charged by $273, but I'm paying 24.99% interest on those funds as well. I expect $273 plus interest of $0.19 per diam from 04/25/19 until such time as the refund is issued. Today is 06/20/19, which is 55 days since the finance agreement arranged by Aspen Dental was funded, and Aspen Dental received their money.
I won't even comment on the attitude and disrespect I received from the receptionist at the local office when I went to discuss this billing problem with them. Getting any assistance from them was worse then pulling a tooth in the dark ages; by a barber with no anesthetic.
