cannot cancel membership
I have been trying to cancel my Golds Gym membership for the past two months and have been unable to. They asked me to send a written request to cancel my membership using certified USPS mail. I promptly did so. Now after a month, my membership has still not been canceled. The reason I am canceling is because I have moved and there is no golds gym near my new house. Rest assured I will never (ever) be going back to Golds gym again. They are still sending me letters to update my billing information after my request to cancel my account. My Wife got a letter stating that her membership cannot be canceled at this time without giving any reasons!
This is a scam of forcing people to continue paying their membership fees long after they have requested to cancel. BBB should look into this practice because this is borderline fraud and is causing a lot of consumer frustration. Me, my family and anybody in my circle will never be going to golds gym again in out lives!

ABC fitness is a scam they charged me double twice claming it was legitimate they charged 37.50 twice when that happens a refund needs to happen and they can’t admit that they made a mistake now they want me to pay 61.99 to leave that’s really crazy because I canceled because abc fitness is very frustrating people
I'm moving out of state -- I just simply want to cancel my gym membership. They made me send a student schedule and ID. They still denied me the right to cancel my membership. I'm in shock -- this company is ridiculous. Not to mention it takes 30 minutes to reach an agent because their phone prompting system is completely BROKEN.
I spoke with young lady this evening and paid what was past due on my account in order to cancel services due to shoulder and back problems, my account number is [protected] and live in Tulsa Oklahoma my phone number is [protected], having trouble trying to find where your cancellation contract is, it is very upsetting not knowing if this will do as a legal cancellation contact.
This is exactly what I'm going thru with ABC Financial and Gold's Gym.
I canceled my account in May due to moving from Boston area.
My account was on freeze while I moved, then could not find another WOW.
So, I called ABC, and spoke to Adrienne on 5/28, was told that I had to pay full month to "unfreeze", then was charge 5.00 for the last month,
I agreed to that, but now I find that I am still been charged 5.00 and that my account was never closed.
All the papers were already processed and signed personally in the Norwood, MA WOW. Candy told me that all I had to do is call and terminated if I did not find a new place.
I am very upset and ask you to look into this matter.
