My cooktop/range just turned 3 years old. One of the control knobs is totally useless now as it only spins and will not turn the burner on. In order to use the specific burner, you must play musical knobs and replace the useless knob with one that works and then switch it back to the other burner it was removed from. I just spent almost 45 minutes trying to contact Whirlpool and finally got to speak with someone after 3 transfers. Totally unacceptable for Whirlpool. I have tried to support the company with my purchases of American-made products for decades, but the quality of their products now and the lack of being able to reach customer service and actually receive is severely lacking. Whirlpool only wanted to schedule a service appointment which I don't need. I need a knob that will work on my control panel.
Recommendation: Avoid buying from Whirlpool. It does not seem to be the company it used to be. After this most recent experience, I do not even see how I can give Whirlpool another chance.
