On 5/5/2015, I received an email from WF that my attempted transfer of $2, 588 did not go through. After calling the other institution, I found out it was rejected because of a recent deposit had not cleared. OK no problem, so I thought. I then called WF 800 number and explained why the payment was returned, and the agent told me he "would take care of it" and asked for banking info to confirm. Well, that agent ran an additional 2, 588 transaction, and the previous transaction ran a second time and WF with a double payment totaling $5, 176 out of checking account that cause havoc on my check account. I immediately call, and I was told the credit would be returned. After five days, no return and I called to be told it could take up to 30 days to return my 2588! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WF made an error and took a large amount of my money, and I have to wait 39DAYS? It's absolutely unacceptable, and I want my money now and they should have to pay interest!

Look a your statement--it could be a charge for simply having an account with them. Its totally legal, you might look into a bank that have lower charges--or free checking account.

I have an auto loan with Wells Fargo. The payment was due on May 28th. Starting on Saturday, May 31st Wells Fargo attempted to reach me. They left a message only to try to call again that day 2 more times. Then they called on SUNDAY twice. (Don't these people go to church or have any morals?!) When I asked why they are calling me so much when I am not even 10 days late, the response was they are calling me as a 'courtesy'. I responded with courtesy is one thing, what you all are doing is harassing (Harass in the dictionary is defined as 'to bother or torment repeatedly and persistently').

The rep began to talk to me as if I was in collections with an outside collection agency. She was being very rude and condescending. She got me so upset that I asked to speak to her supervisor and she was just as rude as the rep. My spouse had to get on the phone since they got me so upset. I am not one that is easily hurt.

I used to do credit/collections for American Express and if I would have treated a customer the way the reps at Wells Fargo were treating me, I would have been out on the street looking for another job. I guess that is why AMEX won the J.D. Power and Associates award for best customer service. Wells Fargo has a long way to go to meet the minimum standard of excellent service.

This is my first time with Wells Fargo and based on what I am already experiencing, it will be my last time with them. I am a good honest person that fulfills debt obligations (99% on time or before the due date). I just hit a rough patch this month and will be out of it shortly. Banks and creditors need to be a bit more willing to work with someone rather than against them. The way Wells Fargo is approaching me is like I am a deadbeat that doesn't pay their bills.

Since it seems like it is ok for the employees of Wells Fargo to talk to customers like this, it merely demonstrates to me the type of leaders that are running the company. For anyone that is considering talking a loan with Wells Fargo should think twice. Run as fast as you can!

2 years ago my husband was diagnosed with cancer, we thought we had Death and Disability Ins. on the home we were buying, NOT! The gal that wrote the paper's up on our home 2 years earlier, was so busy getting ready to go on her free vacation she won from Wells Fargo, (for signing the most sales up), she forgot to add the D&D Ins. in, then when we had to file on the Ins. she said it wasn't available, but it was now. How Convenient (SHE LIED). Now, I am totally disable and I have been turned down for the Disability Ins. on the Wells Fargo Visa. They said I had to work at least 3 months before filing for my disability? (Social Security Disability?)

Do to the economy work has cut back on hours and jobs have been lost. When trying to work with wells fargo on a modification, do to the lower value of my home and the lower income. the statement i received was "you can send in papers but, if you make your payment, it will kick you out of the system. They want me to use every bit of my saving, what little is left. They don't want to help the people that are trying. They only work with though that are delinquent. They want me to screw up my credit scores, that i worked so hard to keep.

Have been looking for a company for some time to establish a small business checking account. After some exhaustive online research, I decided to give Wells Fargo a try, based on the fact that they promote that a business account could be opened online provided you had an established EIN, and Dun's number.

I went through the application, completing all sections as requested, and then submitted my request to fund the account with the maximum amount - $300. A day later, I got an email, indicating that my account would not be opened. I asked why, and received a response from someone in the small business unit (2 days later) indicating that my account could not be opened because Wells Fargo doesn't have any branches in my state.

I am disappointed. I tried to open this account based on the online convenience of the process.

I was off work for a back surgery for many months, was only getting 80% of my income, but I still made all my payments on time. I then went to work for a company who fired me because I was sick, and they didn't want to have to pay out disability.

At this time, I had NO income, so I missed 2 payments. They contacted me, and I agreed to a loan modification. I had gotten another job a few months later.

I made all the requested payments ontime, and sent in my pay stubs and monthly bills as they required. I got a call last night that the modification was 'approved', but now the payment is higher than it was, and they want 1300 plus dollars for doing the modification!

The new payment is more than half of my income. They said I don't qualify for the Hope program because I was approved for a modification. They won't budge on the 'terms', and expect my first payment Feb. 1st.

Now because I have all these lates showing on my credit, I can't go with anyone else because my credit score is now too low to qualify. I am SO pissed at this company!

The loan modifications are a rip off! I was paying 10.5% on my loan to begin with. Before I got sick and couldn't pay off the bad credit on my credit report, the plan was to pay it off to get my score up to get an FHA loan.

Now I have to pay this increased amount in order for them to adjust what the credit report says and get it 'up to date'. I really want to find a lawyer to sue them.

Wells fargo is a very unfair bank! In November I had $1, 000.00 missing and after there bank "specialist" reviewed my account I received a letter saying that it was my mistake and that there was nothing missing. Last month I deposit a check that I received from selling a vehicle on craigslist and with no hesitation my account was closed because i was accused of fraud because the buyer of the car paid with a counterfeit check. I was a loyal customer to Wells Fargo since 2005 and the end i received a kick in the ###

How did you know and why does it concern you? Did you see doing something suspicious? She is probably one of the best workers there, so grateful that someone gave her a second chance to prove herself to the company, especially the fact that's it's difficult now for ANYONE to get a job, and here you are, saying something that is probably not true and possibly may lose her job! BTW it's possibly you might become a felon yourself if you're caught spreading misleading information about someone. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I think you are full of BS, banks do criminal background checks prior to hiring anyone. Like the others have stated, you have probably opened yourself up to all sorts of possible legel action.

I say, get a lawyer too. I'm scared now too, Wells Fargo sent me a congratulations letter on the buying of a car with an account number and payment amount and date of payment due. Four days later, I got another letter saying they regret they could not give me the loan for the purchase of the car. I am upset and confused, they gave me an account number and payment advice only to say they declined my loan?

I still can't believe that banks charge a fee to cash a check drawn on that bank. I've worked for a small town bank for 7 years now and anytime I hear that I just shake my head and say what a disgrace that big Corp Banks need to make money anyway they can. If everyone would just say I've had enough with all the extra fee's and the way they treat the people that essentially have kept them in business all these many years. Close their accounts tell all their friends or anyone that will listen how you feel about this bank. Maybe just maybe they'll fall back into the whole they once were in before the government bailed them out.

I agree with the complaint. The parent was trying to teach the child about money. The lesson learned about banking was probably not the one the parent intended. It has not always been a practice for banks to charge fees for non-customer check cashing. Around [protected] many large banks started phasing in the practice and alleged that it exposed them to fraud because they had to identify the person as Payee. A check is a promissory note from Payor to Payee. Cashing a check from a Customer/Payor previously was viewed as part of the service paid for by Payor.
"The company that has the account to begin with is paying service fees and providing money for investment to that bank. It's part of the banking industry's three-fold strategy that started in the early '90s -- raise existing fees, make it harder to avoid existing fees, invent new fees."

Most banks charge a fee to cash checks when you don't have an account with them.

We live in California and were forced by FEMA to purchase flood insurance on our home. First the law stated we needed enough to cover our principle owed on the mortgage. Then the law changed forcing us to buy $250, 000.00 worth of coverage and we complied by purchasing more to make up the difference. We provided WELLS FARGO HOME MORTGAGE proof of coverage, but despite this, Wells Fargo purchased the same amount of coverage on our behalf and have added this to our monthly mortgage bill! We have called the Customer Service desk several times, but they refuse to acknowledge this fact and continue to charge for insurance that we already own. We have continued to pay this amount because they tell us that our credit will be affected if we do not pay. This is a complete scam and we intend to fight it until we receive a full refund for this. My family has banked with Wells Fargo for 50 years, but that is about to end!

WELLS FARGO IS THE WORST BANK ON PLANET, THEY ARE THEIVES, THEY GET PEOPLE TO SIGN UP FOR MODIFICATIONS, START THEM ON REDUCED PAYMENTS, THEN KEEP THEM HANGING FOR YEARS AND KEEP DENYING THEIR APPLICATIONS, THEN SAY WE HAVE MILLIONS OF PROGRAMS AND YOU WILL EVENTUALLY QUALIFY FOR ONE! MEANWHILE THEIR FORCLOSURE DEPARTMENT FILES PAPER TO FORCLOSE ON YOU WHILE YOU ARE MAKING REDUCED PAYMENT SO THEY GET YOUR MONEY AND ENDING UP STEALING YOUR HOME WHILE YOU ARE STILL THINKING THAT YOUR LOAN WILL BE MODIFIED! IT IS A RACE BETWEEN FORCLOSURE AND MODIFICATION WHICH WILL BE DENIED BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THAT THEY DID NOT RECEIVE A DOCUMENT OR ANOTHER UGLY EXECUSE! IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO MODIFY YOUR LOAN, THEN DON'T MAKE ANY PAYMENTS UNTIL THEY MODIFY THE LOAN(WHICH IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN), OR FORCLOSE(MOST LIKELY).

We are laso having a nightmare with Wells Fargo.
Asside from all the things they seem to practice on purpose.
Our main problem is that it is legal for banks to collect capital gain on pass due interest. We think this law should be changed, giving home owners the fair chance to keep their home.
This is the thing, we know we owe the money and do not have a problem with paying the banks late fees and atorneys fees.
But paying interest on top off interest to allmost three times is incredible. This is how it happens, the bank will get the pass due interest on the modification plus some with the same principle (with or without the pass taxess and insurance added) even with a lower interest rate. For example our principle is $68, 854 with 7.4% .
Just focusing on the pass due interest, the modification will be 4% with an additional 5 years to the loan. Now we are not mathematicians, but it seems that the $7, 450 of pass due interest is still collected.
Now this is what has and is happening to everyone, the bank is giving the only the option off the modification with the additional $7, 450 added to the principle. Which means they will collect this interest twice and on top collect an additinal 4.5% on the added $7, 450.
We hope someone can and does something to have this rule reform.

Wells Fargo is deceptive and bluntly committ appraisal and mortgage fraud. Wells Fargo totally disregard on its own underwriting standard and knowingly make fraudulent mortgage loans based on hugely inflated appraisals. Stay away from Wells Fargo if you want to safeguard your homeownership.

It is federal law if you live in a flood zone and have a mortgage you have to have flood insurance. I am not sure which office exactly ( I believe FEMA but I could be wrong, it could be another one) but it is the law. it has been that way since I got my 1st mortgage. That is why they have to do a flood survey on the property. No place is going to give you a mortgage if you are in a flood plane without flood insurace.

Fema dosen't require you to have flood insurance. That is Wells Fargo making the requirement.
I pay $355.00 per year for flood Insurance thru Fema..received a bill from Wells Fargo today (my home equity loan is/was thru Wachovia) Stating they are placing flood insurance on my house for a premium of $3, 250.00 !
Tooo bad for Wells Fargo as my flood insurance hasen't lapsed . There is no limit on how much they can charge over the Fema price !

I have had the same issue. I have requested, with out reasonable response, to have my mortgage loan modified since October of 2008. They are sending me modifications that have monthly payments more than I use to have, more than 31%DTIR, as required by HUD for an FHA loan. These people are thieves and should be put to the sword

This response sounds like its coming from someone who works for these A hole's. I was not aware that there was a cut off on when you make deposits since i don't ever do that. Every deposit in my account has always been by direct deposit and i was not aware and to have some SOB sit and tell you to your face that you are lying that you did not know this information is very disrespectful. If he took the time to look at my account he would see the trend that i don't ever make deposits like that ever. I do everything online. And to clarify its not 3Pm but 4PM and i was told over and over today as if i were a child. Damn ###. I am still angry and will be filing a complaint against this jerk. Each person's situation is different and i am sure they have heard it all but that does not mean they get to be totally rude and blow you off.

Wellsfargo sucks... I have been a customer for over 2 years and after two years of never getting an overdraft fee on my account and 3 days before my wedding, expecting a deposit on my account the day the overdraft occurred only to wake up the next morning to see over $350.00 in fees and then the credit to my account that shoud have posted the day before which would have caused me to not get these fees. How appropriate that it would happen that way. After going into a Branch to talk to someone i had to fill out some paper with an explanation to the branch manager and after a week of waiting for a call back, called again and was told they are still reviewing it and i would get a call, later that day i have a missed call its the person from the bank calling back to tell me sorry there is nothing they can do and its not a bank error and HAVE A GREAT DAY. Are you F'ing kidding me? I eventually wrote a complaint letter and got back $140 of it all. Now to present day, Drove up to the teller in the drive thru and deposited a check for $150 and then thinking great i have it all covered i will finally be able to get back on track with this, No way... Woke up today went online to check my account, Its in the the negative, who could imagine that! So my check for $150 is pending today and come to find out any deposits after 4pm except for cash will not be credited to your account until the next business day per there rude CS agent. So i drive all the way to the bank to talk to someone there, at a different location that is from the previous branch visited and so i walk in and i was quickly greeted by this jerk. I sit down with my husband to talk to him and explain what is going on, same thing fill out form then bank manager will look it over, i went on to explain i had no idea that i needed to get the check in before 4pm. He basically looked in my face and told me that he does not believe that i did not know this since i have had the account over 2yrs. I have had the account that long and pretty much do everything by direct deposit. Since of late have gone to bank with checks that were gift from Wedding to make deposit at the window or machine and so was not aware. Then of course he has the nerve to say is there anything else he can help me with... I got up gathered my things and told him, no but its nice to see he can sit there and call me a liar to my face. WELLSFARGO IS A PIECE OF CRAP BANK AND I HOPE THAT SOMEONE TAKES THEM FOR ALL THEY HAVE

Keep in mind that it is inexpensive, and legally binding if you take them to Small Claims Court, and can prove that they either made an error that caused the overdraft, or held funds pending clearing a deposit. Most US check deposits clear on the same day (pending time of day when deposited), and electronic transfers can take 2-3 business days. In any case, if your receipts show an unusual holding period on deposits, or transfers that could have been credited within "a reasonable time" (2-3 days) many judges will order the bank to redeem the charges, correct your credit report, and even provide for court fees, and time lost from work and for filing and transportation to the hearing. This is far simpler and effective than trying to argue with the Overdraft Department.
All the best and good luck

The bank is NOT obligated to cash you or your friends check... maybe you should tell your little friend to get a bank account and get direct deposit. Wow, who would have that of that? Obviously not you!

Yes, it will make your credit bad. When your account is closed by the bank and sent to "collections, " that goes on your credit report as you owing a bank money.
As soon as you get a job, you pay off your overdraft and close the accounts.

What is one supposed to do about the auto loan with Wells Fargo? I am at my wits end with this company. I've been dealing with the harassing phone calls since I signed with them, and trust me it wasn't by choice. I am so outraged it's not even funny. I just spoke with a bankruptcy attorney whom is a friend. He informed me that they are NOT allowed to call a resident prior to 9am and the calls have to end by 7pm, not Wells, they call me every morning starting at 7:30 and go til 9:30pm what gives? I'm out of work on medical and have been since March, I got behind 2 months on my payments for the very first time since 2005 and this company won't even do anything to work with me. I can make the monthly payments no problem, however I can't get ahead of what I fell behind on. Everyone told me to talk to the bank, they will work with you because they don't want the bill of repossessing the car, well maybe a normal bank would, but not Wells. They don't give a ### about your every day life, about any hardship you might fall upon or even if you are going to lose your home. They are just worried about a car payment that they didn't get the day it was due. They tell you that you have a 10 day grace period, bull ###. If that were the case then why do they start calling you the day after your payment was due. Normal people that work for a living get paid on Thursdays or Fridays, not on Monday's. So if your payment date falls on a Tuesday or Wednesday you better believe me when I say take the money from the check prior to your due date and pay them, if not they will make your every breathing moment a living hell. I'm seriously considering filing a chapter 7 just to kick them in the teeth. I can't believe the intelligence that this company has to run their business for them. How can they stay afloat with the attitude that they give to their customers? I am going to file a formal complaint against them with the BBB, Oh and I found out too that they aren't supposed to call your home on Sundays and Holidays. How can these people get away with all this ### without any kind of punishment? I know times are hard right now and that there are banks every where going under, so why is it that they are able to do this? I spent all night last night and most of this morning worrying about this and my stress level is through the roof. Not only do I have my medical issue to worry about but now I have this messed up bank to worry about. What can I do, if anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. email me at nhulme1@comcast.net
