Walgreens review: Prescription

I am going to Africa today February 21, 2020 and my doctor called in my vyvanse early since i will be away while it is short. I confirmed with my insurance and pharmacist (at Walgreens 33 East 23rd Street) on Monday, February 17, 2020 that they would fill My medicine this morning Friday February 21, 2020 if I bring in my travel documents as proof of where I am going and for how long. I just spoke to the pharmacist and she is now refusing to refill my vyvanse early and told me she would only do it today if my doctor calls in a prescription for seven days with seven at 50mg and seven at 10mg to equal the 60mg i need. She also suggested to go to another pharmacy (which does not even make sense). I reached out to my doctor, and their office is closed today because they are moving to a new floor. So not only can i not have them call in a new prescription but i cannot even have them call a new pharmacy to get it filled. I am leaving in a couple of hours. If I had known they would have this issue I would have dealt with it earlier this week. This puts me as a patient in the position to be out of my medicine I've been on every single day for 15 years. The pharmacist i spoke with Monday looked up my information and when it was due. This is a very serious issue. I will be in a country where I cannot have this medicine shipped. Additionally, both the CDC and the South African embassy told me to not have my medicine shipped as it could get lost or stolen or never make it to me especially if I am traveling a lot in the country. I will never use Walgreens again for my medicine or Duane Reade. There are plenty of CVS pharmacies in this city. I am disgusted and feel both violated and abused. To be told two different things on an issue vital to my health to the point of hurting and affecting me is wrong. Again - if I was told this five days ago I would've dealt with it at that time. Not hours before I am leaving. Pharmacists at one location should agree to one conduct. Not multiple. The fact that the pharmacist i spoke with earlier in the week confirmed no other action was needed should've been enough.

I will be reporting this issue to the pharmacy board I found online as well as to all other review sites online.
