On July 14, 2026, my 2016 Kia Soul was stolen. The police made a report and arrested the person who stole my car. The steering column was heavily damaged, the rear window behind the driver was shattered and glass was everywhere. There was damage to the front passenger bumper and a busted side mirror when the car hit a low wall. The police contacted me and I contacted State Farm immediately. I downloaded the police report to them on July 15, 2026. My car was towed to a body shop on July 18, 2026, and 2 days later on July 20, 2026, my car was totaled. On July 22, 2026, I removed my car tags and personal belongings and contacted State Farm to let them know what i did. That was the last time I had contact with any one from State Farm. I have called my claim handler several times and was told they were not available (by automation). I could not even leave a message because the called ended. I have sent many emails asking for help and updates. I have downloaded many receipts for Uber rides and 1 receipt for an Enterprise Rental car hoping to be reimbursed. I have been without a car since July 14, 2026. I want to buy a car, but I can't do anything until State Farm settles with me. I am 78 years old and retired. This has placed a hardship on me. My Kia Soul with low mileage (70,957) and 4 new tires is fully covered with comprehensive Insurance coverage. I made a compliant to the North Carolina Department of Insurance on July 31, 2026, and they let me know they will be investigating State Farm and find out why State Farm haven't settled my claim.
Desired outcome: I want my claim settled with the value of my car between $4,680.00 and $6,600.00. Also, I want to be reimbursed for the Uber rides for $92.81 and Enterprise rental for $61.98. State Farm needs to be held accountable for their actions.
