Maytag washer model MVW7232HW0
I chose this washer less than two years ago because of the Maytag reputation and the price. What a waste of money! I faithfully “wash” the drum per manufacturer instructions, and I use the amount of HE detergent recommended. It consistently leaves white “lint” on dark clothes. Today I washed TWO pairs of slacks three times; the lint is still there (not stained) the lint moved from place to place). It also doesn’t clean well at all. I will never buy another Maytag, and I will make sure everyone I know stays far away from this junk.
Recommendation: Skip Maytag entirely!
Not so "dependable from day one"
We purchased a Maytag washing machine, Model # MVW6200KW 3 1/2 years ago because Maytag was supposed to be such a "dependable" brand. We previously had a Sears washer which lasted well over 10 years. We purchased the extended warranty for 3 years. Well, exactly 3 1/2 years after our purchase the washing machine broke down. Had to call a Maytag repair man. He diagnosed it as a broken actuator and cam. Repair bill over $400.00. In researching this, I discovered the washing machine should have lasted 10 to 15 years. I sent a letter to Maytag customer service expressing my disappointment with the washing machine's reliability. They "respectfully declined" my request for any repair assistance since the warranty for this item had expired. (5 months ago) Way to go Maytag. So much for your logo, "Dependable from Day One!"
Recommendation: Buy another brand

Never get an answer only a run around
Purchased October Maytag washer in 2023. In December, it started making a loud clanking noise while agitating. Contacted where I purchased machine and sent video of sound. I was told it is my reasonability to contact Whirlpool. I contacted and they sent out a repair man. Nothing done just opened a file# with whirlpool.
Now it is April and I have had 3 more repairmen look at the machine. They have replaced gear and clutch. No change in the sound. Now on my 3rd different repair company to look at it and nothing is done. Whirlpool will tell me that repair people need to send a RA. Repair people said they sent video of sound to WISE dept at Whirlpool, but whirlpool will not let me talk to them. Whirlpool tells me where I purchase it they are the ones to replace. Back to where I purchase it and they tell me that they will not replace without a RA. No one tells me how to get someone to write an RA. I have contacted the President and CEO of the place I bought it and they do not respond. I counted up my documentation and I have made 23 phone calls and yet have not had a positive answer. Where is the customer service?

I will never spend another dime on a Maytag appliance. I purchased this machine about 6 years ago and have had several service calls costing more than the machine at least twice over. Clothes don’t get clean, heck, some of them don’t even get wet! It tangles items into knots and is rough on fabric. I have never hated an appliance like I hated this machine and the matching dryer isn’t much better. I cannot believe this company had the audacity to put this thing on the market.
Recommendation: Don’t purchase Maytag appliances.

Washer
Purchased a Maytag top load washer in July of 2024. The 1st repair was done in Sept of 2024 the mother board -electric system went bad. This repair was done fairly quickly. The next 2 repairs took place in Dec 2024 and March 2025 both times the sensing unit went out. these repairs were also done within the week. The last issue happened 6/1/25 lid locked and can't open it. Called maytag they said it was a faulty switch more than likely and to unplug it and try plugging it back in to reset it self This did not work. In the mean time the would have a tech come out on 6/7/25 to repair it. The tech comes out sees the moldy stinking ruined clothes in the washer after the gets lid unlocked. Clothes were new socks and t shirts by the way. He tells me he can't get the parts in until the 6/14/ 25 to fix the washer. He suggested that I call maytag to see if they would reimburse me for my troubles. I call maytag and get this rude boy humming and singing while I explain what is happening and he proceeds to call me a dummy and says that I need to call Lowes sense that is where i purchased it and he hangs up on me. Needless to say I will wash my clothes in the creek before I ever purchase a maytag product agsin

The item was defective when it was delivered from Best Buy. I realized it after the two week purchase date and best buy refused to allow me to exchange it, I wanted to exchange it not because I didn't like the look but because it was defective, three service calls later they replaced four or ore parts, the agitator continued to have a very large vibration which has ultimately done more damage and makes a shrill high pitched noise, now it will not even wash at all.. It goes into a "done mode" signaling it has finished washing yet nothing occurred at alll. I want to file a lemon law complaint and be credited to purchase another appliance

It fails to spin the laundry dry about 30% of the time during various wash cycles. We have to reset the load to the spin & dry cycle sometimes twice. We have had Maytag service out with this complaint several times to no avail.

Maytag commercial duty washer is a bit over two years old. I have an issue where it does not agitate so I had contacted Maytag for warranty service. Tech inspected machine and got a list of parts to order. One item is not local, so he called Maytag factory where they have the part in stock. Item will not ship for 7-10 business days, and I am being told this is standard protocol for parts orders. So I have to wait almost 3 weeks for my washer to be fixed. I ordered this washing machine on 01/19/2024. I used it five times after it was delivered. I noticed right away that it was very loud and there were periodic clanking and banging noises (it was not off balance from clothing). I then noticed that clothes were coming out barely damp and some had dry streaks where water did not even get to them. I watched the second, fourth and fifth load and noticed that barely any water entering the wash basin. It was just spitting out a little water before the agitator started. The other two times, it worked fine. I contacted Lowes who said I had to contact Maytag. I have spent hours on the phone and talked with representatives, none of whom will give me a Return Authorization number. I was told I had to have a repairman come out to look and see if they could fix the problem. A repairman was sent to my house, said there were at least two or three problems and that it would take weeks for the parts to come in. He said that once those parts were replaced, it did not necessarily mean the machine would be fixed. I contacted Maytag again and was now told that they have to send another repairman out to check it out before issuing an RA number. Meanwhile, the washing machine remains broken. Customer service representatives were less than helpful but I do realize that their hands are tied and they are just doing-or not doing - what they have been told. No one will help and now I have a second service call set up for "the soonest available date" which is next week.

Maytag oven
Purchased a gas Maytag oven 9.25.23. Baked goods were not cooking through, tops and bottoms were dark. There was also a strong gas smell throughout both floors of my house. Bought my own thermometer, preheated temp according to the oven was actually too low and oven could not maintain correct heat. The first time repairman came out he said it just needed recalibrating. It continued taking a long time to heat and then going 40°+ over correct baking temp. Repairman was out 5x replacing different things but the oven continued the same. The 6th time he came out I was told this is the way new ovens work. And the ‘gas’ smell was ‘burned gas exhaust’ that is normal and I’d have to get used to it.

I have a Maytag washing machine that was purchased 3/31/2022. I have not been able to wash clothes in hot water for many months, which didn't seem to be a big deal since most of my laundry I do in cold water. On 1/18/2024 I removed my clothes and noticed a quarter size hole in the bottom of the tub. I called the Maytag customer service and was given, by them, an appointment for a technician to come and repair. The next day when the repair tech came out he looked the the hole and asked me for the receipt. I didn't exactly know where it was and he told me then the repair would be X amount plus the $129.99 for his trip out. I asked if I had the receipt would the repair be under warranty? and he told me it would. I located the receipt and presented to him and he said that there would be no charge. At that time I pointed out the hot water issue and he checked and told me the hot water valve was not working and that he would include it in the repair and that it too was under warranty. On 1/24/2024 I got a text from the repair company notifying me that the service was "on hold due to a missing collection for parts and service during the initial visit" . First, I was never told from Maytag they were sending a 3rd party to my home, or that there was a service charge. Secondly, I was assured by the technician there was NO CHARGE at all since he had the receipt for the washer. Now I'm several more days waiting for the repair. When I called Maytag today they informed me the warranty was only 1 year on parts and labor and that there was nothing they would do, and I should have purchased an extended warranty. This has a 10 year warranty! Who should need an extended warranty!? Maytag's 10 year limited warranty is just that... limited to whatever they can get away with not having to cover or fix. Now my $900.00 washing machine is going to cost an additional $275.00. I should have spent the extra money and bought the LG! I'll bet I would have a working washer right now.

Bought new range at Menards, was delivered with many other items I had bought, windows, doors, other building materials as I am building a new house and the delivery fee is $170.00. That is why appliances were bought early. Were unopened for a while and when stove was opened, the door was not completely painted. Should not be on a new appliance, nor in a new home. I purchased a refrigerator in august of 2023. November of 2023 it stopped cooling. I called in November about manufacturer warranty. It is 01/11/2024 and i am still with out the use of refrigerator . This is mainly due to the fact that they only use on repair company to service their appliance in my Tennessee area. Maytag gas dryer mgd7230hw
We have recdently purchased (on 11/20/23) our second Maytag gas dryer, only to find that the LP conversion kit is not available. We purchased this dryer previously and returned it because we could not get the kit. This time, we ordered what we believed was the correct kit because it was listed for our dryer model, so we went ahead and purchased the dryer again. The kit we received was incorrect so we consulted a local applianced repair person. He ordered a kit but it was also incorrect. We ordered another kit but that was also incorrect, even though it was listed for our exact model number. Out local Lowe's store, where we purchased the dryer, says the kit is out of stock.
So, what are we supposed to do? It appears the only solution is to return the dryer again. Why don't you have LP kit for this dryer? We wanted this dryer because it matches our washer which was another issue that I will explain below.
The first time, we had the dryer all torn apart in our basement waiting for the part for a month. We paid our local appliance repair person $95 to set it up for us. Now, we are in the same situation again. The dryer has been in our basement all torm apart since it was delivered on 11/22/23.
This all was after we dealt with the Maytag washer we pruchased which tore itself apart after 3 months in October 2021.. Maytag would not replace the washer, they insisted on repairing it. We then had to get two, not one. but two quotes for repair. In the meantime, we did not have a washer so we had to buy another washer. The the repair place had to get the parts so the washer was not repaired until January 2022. So we did not have use of the washer for 6 months and had to but another washer in the meantime.
Desired outcome: We want reimbursement for all the time and money we have spent with issues with Maytag appliances.

Bought the machine new, last year. The water basin was damaged in shipping. It was fixed within a week. Machine worked well for two weeks, then the water level dropped to below the laundry. It has an agitator. It originally would fill above the laundry or higher, if I used the deep fill option. The service guy came back and was rude to my daughter, implying she did not know how to use the machine. He ordered the wrong parts and came back a month later. The machine still did not fill. He said it was not suppose to. So I guess for three weeks it was not working correctly when it filled properly. They came back twice to fix the problem and never fixed it. The machine still does not cover more than half the laundry. The agitator just spins and beats the hell out of the clothes. You can watch your clothes get torn to shreds. Thanks maytag. I even have en extended warranty but am sick of talking to the wall. Good thing I have an old ge as a backup.
Desired outcome: I paid for a new machine. I would like this one to work, or a replacement. Either one works for me.

Purchased this machine in May of 2020 quit working 2 months ago had technician come out told it was the computer motherboard. he replaced it machine still not working he ordered new computer board only works on bulky and delicate cycle now. other cycles it gets stuck on spinning at 17 minutes he has tried to calibrate to no avail. I paid $1000 for machine and now $460 to have it fixed and still not working. Maytag has really gone down the [censored]ter.Will be purchasing speed queen. I have a friend had same machine same problem you should not have to purchase new machine after 3 years. We only have 2 people in the home. It is not like it is overused.

We purchased our washer from Lowes in December of 2021 and had it delivered in late December ( not even 2 full years) and have had to replace the
pump due to an F9E1 code in which the repair company recommended. we now cannot get the washer to go beyond the wash cycle. It stops and after a while an error code comes up again F9E1 still. The repair company then came to the realization that the circuit board has gone bad. Again , the washer is not even 2 years old and has been broken since mid October. The part alone costs over $300 plus the repair man cost plus the cost of the new pump we had gotten put on plus the $120 fee from the repair man.

Bought this washer at Lowes in 2019 and now replacing Lid for second time and electronics malfunction once! I cant believe how poorly designed and the plastic at the corner breaking off on the lid and we are empty nesters and no kids so light duty and all these problems in just 4 years whereas our previous Maytag we had for over 20 years and had only 1 issue ever and that's with kids and their sports uniforms having to be washed constantly therefore more than normal use. I guess Maytag decided they could make junk and g]force people to replace every few years. if they aren't careful a class action lawsuit might be appropriate and get their attention since their customer service is now lacking. The CS agent is sending me a new lid but labor will be $150-200 Basically this lid is a terrible cheap design.

We bought all new kitchen Maytag appliances in June 2019. The refrigerator icemaker started working intermittently in September 2022. We tried everything (unplug, reset on/off switch), including replacing icemaker part W10873791. Nothing fixed it. The issue was broken wires under freezer side. The tech (at a cost of over $400) spliced the wires and reconnected. A year later, October 2023, the ice maker started working intermittently again. Called Maytag each time about icemaker not working and was told "There are no service bulletins or complaints about this" and they will do nothing. Before ordering another icemaker part we took off the bottom faceplate and found the wires are broken AGAIN. This is obviously a design flaw.
Claimed loss: We have spent over $400 in repair costs and still have a non-working icemaker on a refrigerator that is now 4 years old.
Desired outcome: Replacement of door & wire harness as apparently that is the only fix.

I bought a Maytag Washing machine from Lowe's in Brunswick, Maine in November of 2022. As of August 2023, my washer stopped working, was making sounds and lights were flashing but washer wouldn't switch cycles after filling. I contacted your service department and they set a date for September 21, 2023 for the Appliance Guys to visit my residence and diagnose the problem. I had to wait 3 weeks for this appointment without a washer and I have a family of 6, which means I had to utilize the laundromats which is expensive. About 8.00-10.00 dollars per load. The Appliance Guys then determined it was burnt out wires and needed a new control panel in which he came back that following Saturday to fix. Washer worked until October 31, 2023. It then broke down again and will not fill with water, makes whining sounds and clicks to the DONE cycle plus no lid lock. I called my landlord to have them check pipes/water supply in my apartment and those were fine. I then called Maytag again to schedule service and no appointment available until November 27, 2023. I find this unacceptable and this once again leaves me without a washer for almost a month! I have emailed you once already and no response, call wait times are long and I have also reached out to the Better Business Bureau!
