Customer service, unexplainable charge, lack of communication and unprofessional
Absolutely horrible customer service from the Mavis Glenolden PA location. I am a returning customer after receiving such great customer service back in August 2020.
At that time it was Kyle and Bobby, and they were absolutely great. Now I am not sure what happen, but this place is completely out of order. Very unprofessional front desk manager Liz, to the point I know several customers full names and the problems they had because Liz was blatantly talking about them to a coworker in the front lobby for everyone else to hear. She even referred to one of Mavis paying customers after she got off the phone with him as "oh, the problem child".
Apparently this guy brought his car in on Monday for 2 front black hawk tires and to switch the 2 front tires to the rear. He dropped his car off early Monday morning was promised it will be done, he called up there Monday afternoon to check the ETA of his car and was told the car was not touched. The customer got upset and him and Liz exchanged words because the customer stated why wasn't he called to say hey we can get to your car today etc. Again I know all this by over hearing Liz talking to her coworker which was highly inappropriate.
The lady that they have in there now, Liz is completely rude. She was talkative at first, but soon my car ran into an issue, and I was asking questions about it, she became very rude and got this nonchalant attitude. I asked to speak to the mechanic, and I was told that I can voice my questions to her, and she will relay it to the mechanic. I got in touch with the regional manager Stacey Stipanovic, and she wasn't much help either.
She even told me after I told her that is not the price the mechanic first quoted me, she accused me of lying by saying your story is changing. I was highly offended and taken back by her response when she said that and became highly frustrated and anxiety kicked in, and I began to cry due to not being heard or help. Stacey then said she was not here to go back and forth with me. She was not in the store when quotes were discussed this is what they told her my bill was when she called and this is what it is when can I go pick up my car.
I then told Stacey to please pull the camera footage and audio from the store for that day because I really don't like being called a liar. Dropped my truck off 8 AM Tuesday morning, car was not done until closing Thursday evening. There was absolutely no communication or updates given throughout the process unless I called up to the store to ask. Wednesday the truck was not touched due to Liz stating mechanic had another car to do, then it was mechanic could not get my spare tire out from underneath the truck to get to brake lines.
AGAIN NO COMMUNICATION FROM STAFF only way I knew that is because I called up there. When I asked Liz why couldn't I get a call with updates when the mechanic ran into problems, I was told she was too busy.
I will never use them again, they lie and try to charge you more than what was originally quoted. Not only that, but I would highly recommend you look else where unless you like wasting money.

Oil change that resulted in having my engine replaced
I had an oil changed done. The tech did not secure the oild filter, resulting in the engine being drained of the oil ultimately resulting in having the engine replaced. Mavis made good on the engine replacement however the engine is leaking oil and now Mavis is not responding to my requests. I also have not received a warranty on the engine and or the auto shop that performed the engine replacement.

11/4 brought my car to mavis wantagh for tire installation and oil change. Unauthorized service were preformed with our verbally calling me. Brake system flush and alignment done without authorization. 12/5 I am now in Bellmore mavis for oil leak and crack in filter and oil light on dashboard.. multiple calls made to eri regional manager and told refund was issued!!

I have 4 new tires that aren't the right size and they're all terrain on a sedan. Car is riding like a tank. Also paid for an air filter that was never replaced and some attachment for that was never re-fastened. Told brakes and rotors were needed while my back brakes and rotors are like new and front will still easily pass inspection. After the tires were put on, air pressure light came on. Tried to put air in and could not get the nozzle attached. Turns out new valve stems weren't put on with tires. The only thing I wanted from Mavis was tires. I took the car, along with the long list of work to be done, to our mechanic to get brakes and have him check all of the other recommendations. This is when he found that there was no air filter put in and that none of the other things, including a sway bar, are needed. I have pictures from our mechanic and I will be pursuing this to get reimbursed for the air filter (which was put in today by my mechanic) and also to have the correct size and type tires put on

Took car for checkup of brakes, alignment, front end, (brakes were making noise, and there was a shimmy when driving. Car checked "needed shocks, wheel alignment, strut assembly. They gave me a wrong invoice which I paid at the time then they called to tell me the Bill came to 1, 699.79. I went back and paid the difference which was about double of the first bill. The following week I returned because of car pulling to right and still a slight shimmy. They checked it again and told me I needed an additional $680.00 worth of work done on the brakes. This should have been taken care of on first visit. The mechanic advised me curvature of road can cause shimmy, which I am aware of, but the car shimmy was obvious on a smooth level road around 50-55 mph. They did correct the alignment which is better now. Brakes are still squealing, but I will not return to this facility for any further repairs. Mechanic's attitude and professionalism leaves room for improvement. I will have the work they advised checked out and performed by another facility if necessary performed

A living nightmare I am in. Purchased insurance for tire when bought brand new set in May. Tried to get nail removed from tire and dropped st north lake location. They had car for day. I was first to drop at 8 am. Got car at closing they never fixed. Told they had to order tire snd it would arrive Tuesday. We called Tuesday snd they never received tire. My husband said they were so disoruwe couldn't use them. Since we purchased insurance I wanted to try another Mavis. Now I'm standing at navis in Decatur after calling and getting tire ordered. I have been waiting on car all day. They told us 5 pm when we dropped called multiple times. Randy told me at 4:25 ready in 45 minutes going in the bay. Arrived at 6 pm snd my cars was in the parking lot nail in tire. I am in my neighbors borrowed car I need to return snd need to get on the toad to go out of town. They never fixed it. I complained snd they promised to get done in 15 minutes. I am standing by my car just outside the work area. Still waiting. There is a serious issue with this organization and I will forfeit purchased insurance in the future. I'd rather pay full price than deal with this ever again.

On 11/11/21 went to Mavis Tire at 10190 highway 142 north, covington Ga. to purchase 2 tires for my 2010 ford F150. Lee Searcy signed me in and was the person who drove my truck into the bay for the tire replacements. As he pulled into the bay, he did not have the bay door high enough causing the door to hit my ladder rack on the camper top, ripping the ladder rack from the top of the camper which is made of aluminum, causing two large holes in top of the camper. Zack Fisher, the manager notified me of the damage, he said not to worry, all I would have to do is take my truck to Leer Camper Top, the make of the camper top on my truck, have it checked to see if it could be repaired, if not then replaced. I took it to Leer, they said it could not be repaired, would have to be replaced, cost for the same type of camper top would cost $3, 195.53 with installation included. Leer sent the estimate to Mavis, about a week later I contacted Zack, he said the estimate was approved by their people, that I would receive a call from the district manager John Zaucha, he never called me. I contacted Zack on the 4th of Dec., he said the D.M. would call within 48 hrs., no one called, I called back on Dec. 9th to Zack, was told I would get a call from D.M. within the hour, no one called. I called back at Mavis after a hour to speak with Zack or Lee, was told neither were avaliable, busy, three hours later, 6:40 pm., still no one has called. This is not right, we are going on a month now and nothing is being done.
Desired outcome: Replace my camper top
Finally received a check after 3 months of calls after calls for the damaged camper top that had to be replaced. You have to be persistent my case went over the person in charge of my claim, all the way to the president of Mavis.
Still no results on camper top as of 1/16/22, keep being told the check is on the way.

I had my oil changed at the Palm Harbor FL location on November 22. I have a Nissan Frontier which I have taken to that location often. They performed a standard oil change with bulk oil. I was charged $55.85, and when I questioned the price and offered a price matching competitor coupon I was told their is an oil shortage causing the prices in the market to have gone sky high. I checked with 2 other major competitors Tires Pus and Tire Kingdom and their prices were $27 & $30 which is what I anticipated paying. They both told me they hadn't heard of anything of the sort. I spoke with the Manager Chris this morning and he stated they had 2 different oil changes. A regular standard and a Synthetic starting at $39. I though wasn't charged for the low one I received. I was charged for the full Synthetic. On top of all this i wasn't given a free tire rotation as promised and they lied on the invoice and said I declined a free inspection. I was never offered one! I was also listed as a sensitive customer on the the invoice. I submitted an email immediately to the location which wasn't returned. I then received an email the next day saying they were sorry for me missing my appointment and would I like to reschedule. The email would keep me from receiving a review email I could post. The manager was nice but just basically ignored anything I said, and didn't even offer to return the difference in oil change prices or apologize for not doing any of the other items involved. Nov of last year, we went to Mavis for tires and brakes. We were sold 4 tires and paid for warranties, etc. The tires were 60, 000 mile tires, and a year later we had a problem with the right front tire (mind you we had free tire rotations for the life of these tires, and husband took them for rotation every 6-10, 000 miles, never did we get a receipt that they were rotated. Now today we had a tread problem with the front right tire, and they are accusing us of having switched out our tires. (Reality is we did not.) They installed lower grade tires and a different brand than we paid for, While my husband waited for the car, son picked him up. They were told our receipts were in the glove box, now they are no longer there (We suspect they destroyed them, so they could accuse us of not bring in for rotations, and switching the tires) We are elderly and I assure you these are the tires THEY put on - they installed lesser tires than we bought. Now they will not honor our warranty and replace the defective tire. Not only that, they are saying our ABS sensor switch is bad cause the tire caused it to damage the wire on the right front. TO make matters worse, the guy kept arguing with my husband. My husband has cancer, and tires easy, and just brought our car back home. Another thing I have been angry about is back last year when they did our brakes and tires, the Mechanic was vigorously pushing in n out my brake assist took that was attached to our car. We had to have it removed cause they damaged it -- and they wouldn't acknowledge what they did and we were looking right at them from the waiting room. It was the only means by which I could drive my own car due to disabilities. I've gone a year without being able to drive my car and they wouldn't take responsibility. My husband at the time was going through treatments, and just didn't want to make argument, so we left. I have no proof either whether or not they actually replaced our brakes. I no longer can trust these guys. Today, the men we dealt with were not there last year, so we could not confront them. But now we no longer have our receipts, they got in our glove box and removed them and probably destroyed them. Thing here is, their records didn't match our records, now we can't prove it, but the tires on our car are not the ones in their system records. It is literally mind blowing. We need the part fixed, and new tires all the way around, and we haven't even gone 60, 000 miles, cause we both don't travel much anymore.
They would not honor what we paid for. We paid for all the warranties that should of covered defective tires, or even tires for whatever reason get damaged before 60, 000 miles. Angry and can't trust them any longer.
Desired outcome: Want the money to replace brake assist piece, and 4 new tires, and the damaged part fixed, but at a trusted location - Not the same place.
Unprofessional- terrible customer service
I called Mavis tire last week. She told me the earliest they could get me in to get my tires rotated is this week. So I made the appointment for 12pm today. I get here and the guy tells me it's going to be a while. I said I have an appointment and he said it didn't matter. He has people here that had 8am appointments that are still here. I said what's the point of having an appointment if you can't get me in? I have been here for an hour and 15 minutes (from my appointment time) and I just asked him how much longer and he said at least another hour!
This is horrific customer service. His attitude is terrible. If he said "we had someone call in sick so we only have 1 person", that would be ok. Because I understand stuff happens. But he is basically saying this is normal protocol in the automotive industry. An appointment does not mean they get you in within even 2 hours or more of your appointment time!
The process is clearly broken!

This location is poorly managed, and they were very slow (more than an hour to replace tires on a car. My daughter had a blowout and has been driving around with her donut tire. I ordered tires from them and the website told me they were ready the same day (Sunday). I went to the store and they told me they did not have the tires and they gave me an appointment for Wednesday. When I showed up on Wednesday, I waited a little while and then they told me that they could not do it Wednesday, and gave me an appointment for Thursday (their late day). After waiting 2 hours on Thursday, they told me they could not do it Thursday and gave me an appointment for Sunday. I showed up on Sunday and waited 1.5 hours. I was watching them work on other cars, and it took over an hour to replace the tires on a car, while the manager spent a lot of time eating and watching the football game. I finally decided to call Mavis Customer Service to see if I could take the tires somewhere else to get them put on my car. They went to get my tires and they could not find them. I had contacted Mavis customer Service and they promised me a $80. voucher because they could not replace my tires on Wednesday. Then I was promised another $130. voucher by the Butler store because they could not do it on Thursday. I contacted Mavis corporate, and they told me that they could order my tires for a different location, but they would not honor the vouchers I was promised.

The Manager Sonny at Mavis in Watertown NY was very unprofessional.
They gave me a different price after my vehicle was done as to what they quoated me over the phone was $519 + change . I paid $589. That's a big difference. So I started asking questions because I'm a single mom with a tight budget.
Sonny actually started arguing with me because my voice changed and he accused me of yelling and starting getting very sarcastic and rude. He wouldn't listen to anything I had to say. I have bad anxiety sooo my voice does fluctuate plus I'm almost deaf in one ear and he just went of because he didn't like the tone of my voice. After he accused me of getting loud I got very upset. Paid my bill and left. I did apologize to one coworker that was cashing me out and told him I'm sorry if I came off wrong, I just had questions. But Sonny - He got no apology!
FYI:While I was waiting on my vehicle a customer came in to talk to Sonny. She said she needed this this and this done. And I've already texted you what I have for $, hook me up!.🤨

They crash my truck
Last Saturday 11-14-2021 took my truck for a brake check and drop it off there. 40 min later they called me from the shop saying that the mechanic hit a pole and damaged my truck. Took it to the dealer because I'm still financing it and in order to be fixed is going to cost me more than 4000 dollars. They asked me to take more quotes so I did. I'm still waiting from a response and not able to use it. Now my truck is going to loose value since is going to have an accident on it. Not a call from them yet to see how they are going to pay for this…think I'm going to have to sue them in order to fix it and get a compensation for the damages…
Desired outcome: Pay to fix my truck and compensation for the value loss
