We've been MJ customers for over a decade. We only use the physical device to replace old land lines. For many years things were just fine. Then the old units started to fail. Couldn't place calls, couldn't receive calls. If a call went thru nether side could hear the other. Worked with MJ to trouble shoot and were told we needed to order a new device. Fair enough electrical stuff has a lifespan.
Ordered new MJ device in May 2025. Got an RMA for returning the broken one and were told we needed to resubscribe. Okay, all is well, we paid for the new MJ and signed up for a 3 year service agreement.
By August we had still not received the MJ device. A couple of calls to MJ customer service had the same response...oh, sorry, the shipping will update in 48 hours.. Rest assured the device has shipped.
Well, by October still no device. Filed a charge back with our CC. The device charge was refunded but MJ claimed they had 'delivered the service as per contract'. Well, yes they had...but since they never gave us the DEVICE NEEDED TO USE THE SERVICE it was useless. Based on the MJ response the CC refused to refund the service fee. I filed a follow up with CC giving additional documentation, still MJ claimed the had delivered the service. CC told us to go to the merchant.
By this time I had read all the BBB complaints. My final call to MJ simply stated...I give you ONE more chance to refund the service fee or I will send my complaint to the BBB. AND, please not, the whole file is already complied since I filed with CC...
Lo and behold..within 24 hours the service fee had been refunded. Now, I spent a stupid amount of time chasing less than $200. But it was the point. And apparently MJ is continuing this fraudulent practice.
Moral of the story: tell them you will fill with the BBB. That seems to get their attention.
Recommendation: Stay away from this company
