I went into LazyBoy because they were having a huge remodeling sale and I know LazyBoy had a good reputation. I went in and the salesman (brought in by his buddy out of state to make commissions) came over right away and told me about their sales and how everything should go. He asked what I was looking for and I told home I needed a new living room set. I asked about pet friendly and he showed me swaths (this should have be my first clue that they wanted to make $$ and Not just clear the floor). I got excited about the cloths because they were beautiful and very soft. Next he asked which set I liked. I gave him a few floor models as examples. He sat me down with a designer to show how these models would look with the new fabric. It all looked great. Should the designer have come to my house to make sure the different models worked, YES! He DID NOT come until it was far too late. Whiz bang, excited about the new furniture thinking I was getting a huge discount I misinterpreted the paperwork. The whole sale was very expensive (10’s thousand for 4 pcs) and it was going to take time for shipping. This confused me more in that I thought I was getting something that was already made on the floor and just had to be recovered. Frankly I didn’t realize I was going to be paying a ton of money until the delivery because it took so long to build the whole set. The truck drivers tried to make it fit, but couldn’t. The furniture Obviously did not fit and it scratched up our new Saltillo floor. I should Not have accepted it but the drivers said to take it up with the company tomorrow. Once they drove away it was mine no matter what. The next day when I tried to tell the store it didn’t fit and I wanted an exchange they said “you can’t exchange Special Orders”. They sent the designer and store supervisor to the house. Clearly they could see the furniture did not fit(she told me it didn’t fit), it scratched up our floors. Back at the store the supervisor highlighted the fact that what I already paid was only a down payment to the monthly payments I had coming. I was disgusted at this supposed “reputable company” and I couldn’t do anything about it. I was soon going to be headed into major surgery in less than two weeks. My case was sent up to the owners. I got a call from the owner which politely confirmed they weren’t going to do anything more. The rest of the payments were due starting in a month until this very expensive furniture that doesn’t fit our house, scratched up our new Saltillo floors, and I forgot to mention is hurting my husband’s back…is paid off. I will tell everyone I know NEVER to buy LazyBoy furniture!
Recommendation: If you are not filthy rich you have no business buying LazyBoy because you will inevitably end up paying double (items, your health, floors, and of course the BS for their commission.
