Upholstery peeling after 1 year of gentle use!
My wife and I bought a couch, loveseat, and recliner from our local La-Z-Boy with the Renew leather upholstery. We have used it very gently for a little over a year and the top layer is peeling off! We were told at time of purchase that this material would hold up better than most coverings. Of course that was not true. They only provide a 1 year warranty because that's about how long it will last. Do not ever buy anything from La-Z-Boy because they cannot be trusted and their furniture is pure junk. In addition, the recliner mechanism is terrible. Go elsewhere and purchase high quality furniture for your home.
La-Z-Boy leather peeling after just a few months.
I purchased a leather La-Z-Boy Astor recliner on 5/3/21, but it wasn't ready to be picked up until 6/26/21. Within 3 months it looked like the chair was starting to wear on the arms and seat. Within 5 months it had gotten much worse and there was what appears to be a thin coating peeling off in the same areas, so on 11/30/21 I customer service and reported the problem. They finally sent a tech out to inspect the chair on 12/30/21. He took some photos and said he had never seen anything like that, so he was sure it would be covered under warranty. When the coating is completely gone, the leather beneath appears to be perfect as you can see in a couple of the photos.
After numerous calls and emails the local service center manager told me that corporate had rejected the warranty claim, stating that "the chair had been in the sun too long". I live in Oregon, the chair sits in the middle of the room where direct sunshine cannot ever reach it, and I another La-Z-Boy recliner that we purchased a few weeks after the first time that sits right beside it that is not having the problem. I also have leather furniture purchased at Costco 20+ years ago that looks better than the 6-month old La-Z-Boy. To her credit the service center manager says she agrees with me and will try to get corporate to review the warranty claim again, but I have to say I have never been so disappointed in a furniture purchase, or the service received from La-Z-Boy.
I emailed La-Z-Boy Corporate and received a canned response telling me to contact my local service center. Not helpful at all!
I will never purchase another product from that company and will share my experience and photos of the chair with everyone I can to keep them from making a terrible mistake. I even bought the extended warranty for $100. What a joke!
NEW RECLINER- Ordered in Dec 2020 and it was delivered in May of 2021. Within 2 months the fabric is fallimg apart. Special order fabric and it sucks. Can not get a return phone call or email. This is the worst recliner we have ever purchased. Also purchased loveseat, rug and sofa and they seem to be ok. If you see a sign that says La-Z-Boy and your are looking to buy you need to run.

I purchased a recliner and within 2 years we noticed that the coloring was color loss / discoloration on the head rest. They replaced the back but in less than 5 months it is doing the same thing. Has anyone else had or is having this problem? They are refusing to repair the chair. I have read a long list of complaints on this company and agree with most of them that this company has gone down hill in quality. Out last purchase of recliners lasted 18 years wit no problems.

Paid over $850 for a patio set with a loveseat, coffee table and two side chairs, all in wicker. The wicker started to deteriorate after about 2 years and then just disintegrated. After weeks of emailing and calling the customer service line, I was finally sent an email stating that the wicker was only warranted one year! Unbelievable! Would have been better off buying cheap wicker chairs from Big Lots and just replace them every two years. What a waste of $850. I'll never buy Lazy Boy furniture of any type again.
Faulty loveseat
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing to you to raise an issue about: Furniture
The issue that I have experienced was: The lifting mechanism has been broken for a couple of years. We had someone come out shortly after we bought it, and he said that we just need to push the leg rest back in if it detaches from the frame. We had to do that so many times, I believe it got worn out. Now it's doing the same thing on the other side. The upholstery on the other couch we bought at the same time was torn and the foam was coming out of it. I gave that one to my ex (she put this on a credit card that she opened when we were purchasing these sofas) but we both paid for them. I just want it fixed correctly.

This meant that Very disappointed in the quality of these sofas. One week after the warranty expired, it seemed to get worse. There were two adults using these, and no children. There were no misusing these either.
Please fix my love seat. It's the only furniture I have to sit on.

The worst. We paid a substantial deposit to get a sleeper sofa with a high end fabric. They assured us at the time they would be able to deliver it up our stairs. Six months later when it was finally available, the delivery people refused to take it up the stairs. After almost a week trying to get anywhere, we finally got a manager who told us we would not get our $700 deposit back. We pointed out they could resell the sofa, but they actually came out and said it would be a lower profit margin, hence keeping our deposit to make up for the "loss." They kept talking about customer service, but it's really just about getting our dollars. Never ever again.
We purchased a Lazy Boy Stratus power chair with heat and massage for over $1,200 dollars last August From Marsen's Furniture in Roosevelt Utah. My husband works over 6 hours away so he is gone a lot so he has sat in his "chair"' less than 100 days and the mechanism that lefts the leg part BROKE cutting a wire so now the leg rest does not lift. I reported the problem and it took eight days for someone to come and look at it . Then that guy did not file the report for a week, then the lady who does the warranties took a week to look at it and then she NEVER bothered to get back to me until I contacted them only to be told that she has not been in the office and that the part will probably take at least a month to get in. Lazy Boy has known about this FLAW since 2017 and is still making the chairs the same way. They are only SPOT welding (2 TINY welds about 1/8" inch wide) the mechanism so after about 1000 hours of usage the welds brake off causing the leg left not to function. We should have kept the Lazy Boy recliners that we bought back in 1990, they were made to LAST. We will NOT be buying another Lazy Boy product if they are NO LONGER taking pride in their products and making them so CHEEP that they won't even last a year.
I’ve had this piece of ______ for three years. In the past eight months I’ve had to reconnect the leg rest. Im disabled and every time it falls off I reinsure my lower back. My recliner leg lift has broke for the 2nd time in 5 years. I called on April 25, to get replacement part and paid for both part and initial service call. It is now May 26 and nothing. Called for follow up 2 weeks ago and told to just be patient. Called yesterday leaving my number and no response. Been dealings with customer service agent named Portia who could use a bit more training.
Would encourage a few LazyBoy execs to try using their repair service just to understand how their disappointed customers feel.
Extended Warranty
Brought two recliners with extended warranties a total of $433.00 worth of warranties. I have one of my recliners break after about 8 months and called the customer service department on March 10th. They ask for pictures and the tag on the lazy boy etc., which I provided. I called back a week ago and they had not done anything on my complaint because they could not find my record. Now I have spent over a week on the phone with various departments of Lazy Boy and what it has boiled down to is that each store is owned independently and when they collect warranty money it does not mean you have a warranty anywhere else. Lazy Boy does not back their product, they have no national warranty. If are left out in the cold.
Desired outcome: Be reimbursed for both warranties since they are useless

Recliner couch and chair
Our first purchase of couch and recliner ended with the furniture being deemed defective and returned. Back to the showroom to purchase a more expensive set. Three or four service calls later our furniture is noisy and simply junk. I wouldn't recommend La-Z-Boy to anyone. They simply allow their workers to evaluate quality and reward speed over quality.
Delay in construction and shipping
I am very displeased in the amount of time it has taken to ship my second recliner. I ordered 2 recliners Sept. 2020 and was told I would receive them in Jan. 2021. I finally received my 1st chair the 2nd week of February and still waiting on 2nd recliner.
I was asked to also finish paying for both recliners when I received my 1st one as well which was fine thinking I would receive the 2nd one by the in of Feb. I'm still waiting and I understand covid was a issue which is understandable but it's now been 6 months? No excuse and will not use Lazyboy's service again.
