Home Depot review: New front door and its installation.

We decided to replace our front door. Because it's an unusual size, we decided to go with Home Depot because we were told at our local branch (Oracle Road, Tucson) they would send someone along to see what we needed and to take the measure. That way, there'd be no mistakes and we'd get exactly what we wanted.

After the rep's visited, we went to the store and selected the style of door we wanted, which was duly ordered. Some time later, it arrived at the store and they sent the installers. They removed the security door, the existing jamb and old door, then installed the new jamb and door. When they finished, they informed us that they had not filled holes under the jamb or sealed the strip under the door. They also left the security door lying in our front yard.

We contacted Home Depot and asked when the job would be finished. Cutting a long story short, we were informed that they had no intention of completing the work - we would somehow have to fill the holes and do the sealing with cement ourselves. We would also have to reinstall the security door.

This is not why we went to Home Depot. Our understanding was that the whole thing would be done by your experts and not left to us, people with no experience or tools to do these kinds of jobs. We are not happy at all and wonder whether this is typical of Home Depot.
