Family Dollar review: AA batteries

I went to a local Family Dollar Store and purchase AA batteries for a camera. They were put in the camera and about 10 mins. later they exploded. I went to the local store which store # 11922 to get my money back and they told me they do not give refunds because of the cova 19. To beat it all I went back the same day I purchase them. I was told other stores was doing the same thing not doing refunds and I like that is a lie because we purchase a cooker a Walmart and it quit working and they took it back with no question ask. I was in CVS the other day as well and they were giving refunds to. I have been reading other complaints about Family Dollar and something needs to be done I want a full refund.
