Expedia did not receive a refund

On 7/28/2021 I booked a reservation at Tahoe Beach & Ski Club. On 8/31/2021 I canceled the reservation with enough time to get a full refund minus the insurance cost. I have called on 9/20/2021 and asked where is my refund and they said it was generated but not processed and would have to escalate the issue to the corporate office. I called back on 9/27/2021 and they said it would have to be 10 days for a response so I called back on 10/1/2021 and the person said that they would email corporate again since they are the only ones that can handle the issue.

Desired outcome: receive my refund of $1,395.12

Expedia Refund owed due to Expedia's mistake

On July 26th Expedia cancelled my flight without me asking them to do so. They then told me they would rebook with a rate difference I would need to pay but then I would get refunded. It is now October 1st and they continue to tell me they are reviewing the situation but I am unable to talk with a supervisor or someone that is actually reviewing the issue and listening to call recordings that will clearly show I was promised a refund (it's around $1300). My desired resolution is for them to refund the money to my credit card. I am unable to attach anything except for photos. I do have the receipts for the payments and included a detailed timeline below.

I booked 4 round trip airline tickets from O'Hare to Boston for myself, my husband Jason Floyd and our friends Nathan and Alissa Hunter. The flight to Boston was through Delta for July 30th and we were returning via United on August 7th. Unfortunately Nathan's father was ill and he and Alissa could not go. I called Expedia to cancel their flights on Monday July 26th around 12:15. The representative told me the following:
• Nathan and Alissa's outgoing Delta flight was cancelled and they would have airline credit that had to be used in their name by Jan 22, 2022.
• The returning United flights were cancelled and they had airline credit that would need to be used by Feb 3, 2022 (I believe this was the date she provided).
• I was told I would not see these credits on my Expedia account but would receive an email with the details of the credits (amount, date they needed to be used by) and would need to call into Expedia to use the credits. I received nothing via email.
About an hour later I chose the seats for Jason and I's Delta flight and decided to see if I could choose the seats for our return flight on United. It was at that point I realized she had cancelled Jason and I's return flights and I couldn't tell if Nathan and Alissa's were cancelled. I immediately called Expedia and asked for a call back as the wait time was an hour and also began chatting with someone through the website. This was around 2pm CST. The person I was chatting with understood the issue and told me he was rebooking Jason and I's return flight. He said he did so but was waiting on confirmation from the airline. Around 3, I received the call back from Expedia and was told to either continue to chat or talk to the representative who would continue handling the issue.
As I was explaining the situation to the representative on the phone, she said she saw where the flights were rebooked and all looked good. But then all of a sudden Jason and I's outgoing flights were gone from the Delta app and appeared to have been cancelled. I also noticed Nathan and Alissa still had return flights listed. I want to mention I received 0 emails that my flights were cancelled. I was on the phone for 2 hours (3-5 CST) resolving this and was told the following:
• The Delta outgoing flight was now fully booked. She was trying to find different flights to put me on that were around the same time as the one that was cancelled by Expedia. None were direct flights but she did find one that had a rate difference of around $1200. She told me I would need to pay that rate difference and then Expedia would refund me the money within 5-7 days.
• As she was doing this, my husband saw there were still first class seats on our original Delta outbound flight. The price was around $1300 rate difference and so I asked for her to book those instead. I even offered to pay the difference in the two rate differences just so we could keep the direct flight and not chance missing a connection. She said she needed to talk to her supervisor to get approval and did so. She again said I would pay the rate difference and then Expedia would refund me. I was told this multiple times.
• I provided my credit card information and she booked those flights for which I received confirmation and I saw the pending charge on my credit card.
• I inquired about Nathan and Alissa's United flights not being cancelled and she said I would not receive credit if I cancelled those due to United's cancellation policy and had no explanation as to why the representative told me differently earlier.
A couple of days later the pending charge was gone and I assumed they had refunded the card somehow. When I went to check in for my flight on Thursday, July 29th 2021 I was unable to. When I called Delta they said the Expedia rep had book economy seats (even though there weren't any available) and the payment for the upgrade to first class would need to be paid for us to check in. I called Expedia around 7am CST and explained what was going on. The rep indicated he couldn't tell me I would get a refund as first class tickets wouldn't be eligible or something to that effect but that he would escalate this to the area that looks into issues. I told him someone needed to review the recorded call from Monday the 26th as I was told multiple times I would be refunded for the rate difference. He told me to pay Delta directly and I should hear back from Expedia within a few days.
Since that time I have called multiple times to follow up:
• Monday, August 2nd around 8:20 am EST while on vacation: Was told this would be sent to the escalation team again and I would hear back in 5 days. I was also told they would look into the conflicting refund information I received for the United flight. I told the rep I had the receipts from the 2 payments I made to Delta for which I was requesting the refund as promised by the Expedia rep. I ultimately emailed screen shots to the email the representative initiated.
• Tuesday, August 10th around 7 am CST: I was told the person I was talking to couldn't do much and said this was still being worked on. I requested a call from a supervisor and was told one would call me. I did not receive a call back.
• Tuesday, August 17th: Called again and the rep confirmed they had received my receipts. The call then disconnected or I was hung up. I called back and talked to someone else and they started to tell me the status but I then couldn't hear them. I called back again. I was told this would be escalated and I would receive an email noting such. I never received an email. I was told the Delta credit for Nathan and Alissa was $238.41 each but again never received an email or any documentation noting this. I did receive a call back from what I believe was an Expedia number but I again could not hear the person.
• Wednesday, August 25th around 7:25am CST: I called and after explaining the situation (which I have to do each time I call) and then waiting for the rep to review (which also happens every time even though they ultimately tell me they can't do anything and will need to escalate), I was hung up on. I called back and was hung up on again while on hold while they were reviewing. I called back again and could hear noises but no one spoke. The fourth time calling I told them not to put me on hold and I wanted to speak with a supervisor. They continue to refuse to allow me to speak to a supervisor. After 30 minutes of waiting for him to review, I asked for a supervisor to call me. He said he would arrange that and I never received a call.
I contacted Expedia Help on Twitter on August 27th. They originally told me I should see the credit on my account. I'm not sure if they were confusing the $1300 rate differential credit with the Delta flight credit for Nathan and Alissa but I see no credit on my Delta app, Expedia, or credit card. They continued to research. I followed up on September 1st and they told me to allow 10 days from when I first contacted them on Twitter, which was Sept 5th. On Sept 5th they said there was no resolution and to keep waiting and being patient. I followed up on September 9th and was told the same thing, to keep waiting and rest assured it is being looked into. It is now Oct 1st and they are still telling me they are reviewing and to keep waiting. I am also wanting to know where to send a demand letter prior to filing a case in small claims court (assuming this doesn't get resolved) and they are unable to tell me that info as well.
At this point I'm hoping you can assist me with getting this refund back or advice on my next steps. Do I file a complaint with the FTC or take them to small claims court? Thanks for your assistance.

Expedia Mex Rental Car

The incident was Sept 15, 2021 with renting a car in San Diego with Mex Rental car please do not business with them or Expedia because these company are crooks, scammers and liars. Thinking you were getting something legit going through with both company I was so wrong. Charging people double for the same thing and think it is okay to do that.

Expedia Hotel room reservation

On 9/24/01 I reserved and paid for a double bed hotel room with Expedia at the Hampton Inn in Lake Mary, FL. When I received a confirmation email it specified a room with 1 king bed which wouldn't work for me and wasn't what I'd ordered.
I spoke with Amy at the hotel and explained the situation. Since she couldn't accommodate my reservation she readily agreed to cancel my reservation and did so. She advised that I had to call Expedia for my refund.
I immediately contacted Expedia through their web site cyber rep for over 3 hours only to be told that I'd have to "call" back the next day for an answer regarding my refund.
The next morning through Expedia I rebooked a 2 bed room to replace the one which couldn't be provided.
Again, When I called customer service, I was tied up almost an hour only to be told "We don't give refunds". The agents only concession was an offer of a $50 voucher for a future room which I declined. (I paid $138.91 for the room.)
Summary: Expedia sold me a room they can't provide (and should never have booked) and refuses to refund my money.

Expedia Hertz car rental

I had a reservation for a car rental in Metairie LA on Sept 23 (Itinerary # [protected]). After I spent $40 getting to the agency, I was informed by desk personnel there were no cars and because of their computer errors, the reservation was not cancelled.

I then had to spend $280.00 on taxis to complete my business trip.

I think you should drop Hertz as a rental provider

Expedia Vacation Package

I purchased a vacation package to Almafi for April 24, 2022. 9/15/2021. On 9/26/21 I spoke with the virtual assistant regarding the airfare in the package asking if I could cancel the airfare or change it? In an instant, the virtual said your reservation is cancelled I did not say to cancel anything I would because the hotel is non-refundable and at $811.00 I can't afford to lose my money. I called immediately Expedia and spoke to the customer servicer who did verify the cancellation he also stated that the hotel will be refunded by Expedia because it was Expedia's mistake. Well, all I am getting is a runaround. This was the first time I used Expedia and the last! I travel much throughout the year. I want my refund or I will pursue legal action!

Expedia unethical behavior

Due to the COVID pandemic my flight to Grenada on May 15 and hotel stay there was cancelled in 2020. I was issued a flight and travel voucher that expires Dec 31 2021. I rebooked my vacation for Nov 30-Dec 5 2021 and was just informed by JETBLUE that my flight on Nov 30 has been cancelled. The CDC has just given Grenada its highest travel warning at "4" with 50% of the country infected with the virus, yet Expedia is not extending my travel voucher past Dec 31 2021. In other words, Expedia is forcing me to use my travel vouchers to travel to a "high risk" country because of its policy on the expiration of these vouchers. I have spent close to $4000 on this trip to Grenada and all I get from Expedia is an agent who has absolutely no idea what the rules are regarding travel vouchers and cannot make a decision on his own regarding my situation. What is going on Expedia? You expect me to risk going to Grenada and getting COVID again because you will not extend my travel vouchers? NOT FAIR and UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR.

Expedia I will never use expedia again!!!

I made a hotel reservation through Expedia. When I went to check in to the hotel they told me they had my reservation, however the hotel was full and they turned me away. I requested the hotel refund my money and they never did. I contacted Expedia and requested they refund my money, and they never did either. After going around and around with Expedia, I finally disputed the charge with my credit card company and got a resolution. No, thanks to Expedia!

I will NEVER use Expedia AGAIN!

Expedia Flight credit

I booked 4 flights out of msn airport to rtb airport totaling $2145. I changed my flights due to covid to rsw airport which totaled $941. I received an email from expedia with instructions on my remaining credit and that I had to call to use the left over credit balance. I have called multiple times and everytime they tell me there is nothing they can do for me and that I need to call American Airlines. American tells me that it is up to expedia to give me the credit which is about $1203. I have spend hours on the phone. I have asked to speak to supervisors and they just hang up on me.

We arrived at hotel very late on July 11th. The room was damp, not clean and disgusting smelling. There was mold/mildew on the carpets and walls, there were someone else's black hairs in the white sheets when we pulled back the covers and it smelled awful of smoke and it was supposed to be a non-smoking property. I have multiple pictures of these issues. Needless to say we did not stay, we drove home in the middle of the night. The hotel told us to call Expedia for the refund and that is what I did.
When I called Expedia to request a refund, they told me the hotel manager was not responding to them and the hotel manager told me Expedia never called him. I called multiple times to both the hotel manager and Expedia and got nowhere. I expect that Expedia would give a refund in this type of situation and also not promote this business on their site.

Expedia Hotel refund

9/4/21, Itinerary # [protected]. I booked a room at the Days Inn in St Cloud MN through Expedia. After checking in I found the lock on the door was broken, it looked like someone had broken in through the window and the inside of the building smelled like smoke. It appeared that homeless people were living there. It looked like that was the place meth addicts go to overdose. Being a single woman traveling I called the police for a referral for a safe place to stay. That place shouldn't even be listed on any sight.

Dear Expedia Team,

I am a 47 Bahrainin citizen and have been a member and a frequent user of Expedia for travel and stays for over 20 years. I never had any travelling issue for all these years.

Lately, I booked on Anadoulian airline as a brand of Turkish Airlines last 20 August. This was a complete disaster and I believe Expedia should not have such airline on their approved list. Here is the issue.

I was at the airport back to my country (Bahrain) at 8 30pm for 11 pm flight. My wife is a Moroccan with a valid Bahraini residency. We spent around 30 minutes with the checking manager to explain that we don't need a PCR test going to Bahrain as our final destination. The manager checked all information and put us on the flight. Some of the information requested were unbelievably silly like what is my address in my country Bahrain and where is the marriage certificate. After that, again the checking office has asked us all the same questions and silly requirements. We checked in and the flight got delayed. At the gate we were offloaded because the PCR test, as per the gate manager, is required. I tried to discuss the matter with him and he said you Arabs are very difficult to deal with!. Now, he might have been right, but why should I wait from 8 30pm to 12 pm to hear that and why speak to me in such manner. I could have arranged another flight and spare the time and effort. Anyways, we went back to the offloading desk where they arranged a well organized and systematic procedure to return all duty free items purchased and go back into the country directly to the ticket office to pay USD100 each and book for next day same time.

We managed to do the PCR test at Sabiha airport and arrived the next day at 8pm. We showed them the PCR test and that was that. No more silly questions like the day before even though the staff are different. The check-in was smooth and fast. After doing the same shopping for the items we purchased the day before, we arrived at the gate at 9 30pm and it was closed. we sat in the opposite coffee shop which is 10 to 15 steps upfront. 40 minutes before take-off, I went to the gate manger to make sure that our documents are ok this time. They stamped our boarding passes ad asked us to wait. We went back to the coffee shop and came 25 minutes before the flight. We were told the the gate is closed and we will be offloaded again. Honestly speaking, I have been traveling for so long, but this is different. Not even a last call was heard and we are steps from the gate and the gate manager offloaded us the previous day and he knows we are just sitting opposite to him. I went to speak to him and he said it is not my job, operations officer said it is impossible. I told him that It is better and faster for him to arrange any small vehicle and I shall pay for that instead of offloading the bags. They all refused and took us through the same organized and systematic procedure to buy the next day ticket.

This time I said enough is enough and I booked on Gulf Air using another airport and I got home.

My questions are, is what happened to us fair? is it professional? How much cost I should have avoided given takies and hotels for 2 extra nights, extra flight, additional booking cost, time, effort? why they are doing such systematic process not only to me, I have seen around 50 people offloaded during those 2 nights for unjustified reasons? is it the extra booking fees of USD100 what matters to them?

The airport staff is the front image of any country. How would Turkey allow such staff to give a bad impression about such a beautiful country.

Why would Turkish airline accept such thing under their name.

I have been really frustrated and it took me over 10 days to calm down and write this email.

Expedia Refund

I booked an accommodation through expedia affiliate and didn't receive any email confirmation for the booking from expedia. However, an email confirmation was sent from the place I booked to stay (the lighthorseman) and last minute. Com. I cancelled the booking the next day by calling expedia but didn't receive any email confirmation for cancellation. I called the lighthorseman to confirm the cancellation and they said that it has been cancelled. Now, I am chasing for my refund. I called expedia again and the staff keeps on giving me numbers that doesn't even go through when I call. And one of the staff from expedia said that the money is with last minute. Com. I called last minute. Com, they said that my booking wasn't cancelled as I didn't call them and they are not willing to refund me. I told them that in the email confirmation from the lighthorseman, it said to call expedia for cancellation. Now the staff from last minute is saying that expedia has got my money and they should refund me.
I am getting really annoyed with the staff from expedia and last-minute. Com.
When I call expedia and provide my reservation number, they keep on giving me invalid phone numbers.

They both have really bad customer service.

I think that expedia is fraud and I do not trust them at all.

I cancelled both flights on 13th August via phone call with a customer representative.
I still haven't heard back nor received my refund. I called again on 21st August, very unhelpful customer service.

Having booked via Expedia I expect the company to resolve the issues with the airline, otherwise why Expedia partners with such airlines they cannot get resolution quickly?

I will be claiming my money from Expedia through courts if not heard back soon.

Expedia Hotel Refund

I have YET to get my hotel refund. I cancelled it 3 days in advance and am getting the run around that the hotel needs to refund us. Hotel is saying since we booked with Expedia they will be giving us the refund. Cannot find a solution to get my money back which is VERY unfortunate and find it very UNPROFESSIONAL on their end. Therefore I will never go through a third party company again-just is a hassle. Please give me solutions on how I can get my hotel refund.

Expedia Refund

I booked a one way flight for me and my husband using Expedia. Iberia Airlines cancelled the flight and sent me an email saying "These are follows: i) Choose an alternative flight on a later date of your choice, subject to availability; and ii) obtain a full refund of your ticket through the same payment method used to make your booking or, if you prefer, an electronic voucher to use for future bookings or to purchase additional services on www.iberia.com". So yo read that I could get a refund using the same payment method. Expedia refuse to refund my money via the credit card I used and will only give me air credit to use another time. I have had to pay again to get another flight because Iberia gave me a flight for the following day which was not going to work for us. DO NOT use Expedia. This is the last time I will be using them or anyone affiliated with them. They are thieves!

Expedia Refund

Booked tickets to fly to England the airline cancelled tickets related to covid. The airline approved a refund but Expedia has withheld it and keeps claiming it's the airlines fault.
I worked as a nurse through covid and had over $1000 stolen from me by companies that have more power/resources than me. If nurses mimicked this behavior a lot of more people may have died ? So I am most upset to be taken advantage of in this manner and I would like the total amount refunded

Expedia service

hi my name is Rakesh Grover. I have booked a flight for Newark(EWR) to Delhi for 2nd sep 2021. MY itinerary number is [protected]. unfortunately there is change in schedule of my connecting flight which is Delhi to Amritsar by flight agency, which I didn't like and trying to cancel. initially I had a hard time to cancel that connecting flight but lately I have succeed to cancelled it with Vistara people(third party flight agency). But now I m facing issue to get the refund. lately Vistara people said I have to talk to Expedia because I have booked flight through your company. When I called Expedia then they said I have to called United because they took control of ticket. but when I called them they said we can't do anything I have to talk to agent who has booked my flight which is your company. so nobody is listening my complaint they are just pooping me from here to there. I have never had this much poor service.
kindly do the needful.
