I walked in the store at 8:30 pm for some last minute school supplies. I was greeted with "You only have 15 minutes". Okay, so I began to shop and they announce on the intercom at least 4 times that they are closing soon and to proceed to check out. As I am checking out with the cashier Jessica, the manager (Melinda) walks up to my basket with my purse inside and begins to touch my personal belongings saying, "I need to whats in your bag". I was shocked and violated and I grabbed my purse from her and said " Excuse me, what is your reason to treat me this way?" She said, "I need to see if you're stealing!" when I tried to defend myself, she got loud and confrontational and said that I need to leave and I'm not welcome back! I cannot believe I was treated this way as a paying customer buying supplies and for my children to be witness to this terrible treatment. The whole store was upset and felt this was wrong. I have never felt so humiliated, I actually cried leaving the store. Melinda is very aggressive and unpredictable. I do not understand how she could possibly be in management. I don't think I could ever step foot into another Dollar Tree. I would much rather spend the extra money at a place that treats customers kindly and professionally.
