Delta Air Lines Bait & Switch

Booked a trip with Delta on 8/22/24 for a trip from DLH to KOA, 7/07/25. Booked and paid for seats in the Delta Comfort section, which started on aisle 21. Selected seats 22A & 22B. Just checked, and discovered that we've been moved to aisle 32, because Delta created another category. Communicated our displeasure with Delta on the change, and requested to be back in aisle 22, on seats 22A & 22B. They replied that if we wanted seats 22A & 22B, we will now have to pay an additional $400+.

Recommendation: Be careful. Delta conducts deceptive sales practices. They do not honor their committments.

We booked a flight on 7/07/25, from DLH to KOA. Selected Delta Comfort, paid for that category, and selected seats 22A & 22B. Discovered that our seats have been moved to aisle 32, due to the creation of another category. Contacted Customer Service who responded that if we wanted seats 22A & 22B, we will have to pay an additional $400+. This is not fair. On 8/22/24, we booked and paid for seats 22A & 22B. All we are asking is to have our seat assignments be returned to 22A & 22B.

Delta Air Lines Flight cancellation by airlines and given hassle to rebook and caused embarrassment

To whom it may concern,

I need to file a complaint regarding my booking [protected]. We started coming back as our plan from AMD TO ATL on July 6thand the flight delay was there starting AMD airport. When we got to JFK airport on July 8th we had over 9 hours of hold and we tried to check in way earlier than our flight time to avoid any issue and we came across name issue for VIMAL M DARJI and we had to call and be on phone for hour to fix. Then finally the agent helped printing the boarding passes for all and we went to security check thinking everything was just fine. We were at terminal over 4 hours, and no one mentioned anything about any issue, and we had pass printed by delta already. Then 20 minuets before flight time the delta representative calls us on booth and stating something is wrong in our booking and tickets. I told them that we have this boarding pass printed and security check done so what is wrong with it. I said you call cheapoairand ask any issue you have. The lady then stated don’t worry you are good to go so we went in the flight and after seating someone else comes and stated that something is not right with your booking so we would have get off from flight. We were escorted after we got you seats and we were ready to leave JFK. This kind of mistakes are not acceptable and needs to be justify. They put in delta issue note that MANAGER came and talked to us but in reality no MANAGER came to talk to us. We had to go find out where virgin booth was and talk to them they said there was nothing on their side that need to be fixed. They said DELTA DOES THIS WHEN THYE HAVE OVER BOOKING AND THAT DAY THEY ANNOUCE THAT THEY HAD EXTRA BOOKING AND THYE WANTED EVERY ONE TO GIVE OUR LAGUAGE TO THEM AS THEIR MIGHT BE LESS SPACE. They were dishonest and wrote what they wanted and fixed the ticket without oven notifying it. we came to delta booth to find out if they talked to anyone and fixed it as virgin stated there is nothing they can do. Nothing will make this better or justify but at list apology and refunding the booking has to happen. We felt so embarrass while leaving the flight as everyone was looking at us like we did some crime or we are about harm them. I never felt this kind of way and total embarrassment happened. No sorry or any word will make this better. My booking should be reimburse in full without any question for this kind of hassle. Our total journey coming back home was 48 hours and we got so sick after words and was not able to function for many days. This issue needs to be escalated and used as learning lesson for future trips so no other customers go through this kind of mess and embarrassment. They also lie to CHEAPOAIR that we missed the flight because we were late. In reality we were at JFK for whole night so delta has done lots of dishonesty and cause us embarrassment. Delta Air Lines Flight

I sat in the airport for 2-3 days because you kept canceling my flight. No compensation at all. no food or water. we could not leave in case a flight became available and could not even try to go to sleep. I will never fly Delta airlines ever again. The worst flight I ever had. Its a shame you did not care about your customers. Next time I fly it will be with another airlines

Hi Marlene,

I'm truly sorry to hear about your awful experience with Delta Air Lines. Being stuck in the airport for days with constant flight cancellations is incredibly frustrating. It's unacceptable that there was no compensation, food, or water provided, and being unable to leave or rest just adds to the stress. Your decision to never fly with them again is completely understandable.

It's a real shame when companies don't prioritize their customers' well-being. Next time, I hope you find a more reliable airline that values your time and comfort. Wishing you better travels ahead!

To whom it may concern,

i am writing to express my extreme frustration and disappointment with the service provided by your staff .

I purchased a ticket through expedia under delta airline for the amount of $498.90 of 3 travellers. After few days i received an email from delta airline for trip details. On the information given to the email it stated for only felina salmon . I did not see the names for my kids precious- hannah macalino and sparkle- samantha macalino. So i called expedia . I told them i made a payment for 3 travellers one for senior and two for under age minors. Then i got forward through delta airline and i spoke with one for reservation desk his name is riche. He told me that i need to pay for the amout of $333.68 because the ticket was only for one person. I told him that it says on the receipt for 3 travellers, and that precious macalino and sparkle macalino have no tickets , therefore unless i have to pay for the amount of $333.68 thats the only way he will issue the ticket for their airline ticket. I said how come they never told me and no one called to inform me . He said they called me but i never received a call from delta airline that it did not go through. I said i have the receipt from expedia . I have no choice to pay the amout of $333.68 ohterwise my kids will left out in los angeles by themselves . My frustration with your staff is outragous becuase if did not check the status a few days before their flight then my kids will unable to come home becuase of the error made your staff . I called expedia and they told me that i have to complain because i got double charge by your company, and they have to refund me for the amout of $333.68 . I can provide all the receipt . I look forward to resolving this matter intantly. I am asking to provide a full refund .

Delta Air Lines Pets

I was assured that my cute little fur baby would be allowed on a flight I had booked for my daughter and granddaughter because of a crisis situation. When they got to the airport in Albany, New York this lame service did not see my cute little precious dog stand up in the carrier, so she forbade her to fly. This added to my distress and my dog had to be left behind. I have traveled with Delta for 40 years and back then customer service was great. I don't know who took over, but it is clear they do not care about a single human only about the money. I get it, it's all about the money and not the people.

Claimed loss: I now have to fly with American Airlines and pay extra to try and get my precious fur baby out of impound and unfortunately she will have to fly in cargo. No baby should fly in cargo.

Desired outcome: two 1st class or comfort tickets and guaranteed that my fur baby will fly along with a kitten.

Delta Air Lines Change of fare after payment

Ticket confirmation number GGPZZA Sydney to LAX

This ticket was bought online on February 8, 2024. Email confirming purchase for total price is attached. I also have a bank statement showing that 2 debits of $8137.722 were made on February 8.

When our credit card statement initially showed that only 1 fare had been debited, I rang Delta 3 times - twice on February 12 to be told that everything was OK, not to worry, that transactions could take a while to go through.

On Friday, February 16 our credit card statement showed a charge of $1210.66 from Delta. I rang to query this and was told that because the entire amount of our initial purchase had not gone through with our bank, the price of the ticket had increased by this amount in the meantime. I said that this was not acceptable for Delta to unilaterally change an agreed and paid price. However "Edward" insisted (after I waited for 35 minutes while he "checked") that this extra amount had to be paid. He offered us a flight credit for this amount which indicates Delta concedes our position. I declined this offer and said we'd also follow up with the relevant Australian consumer affairs authorities.

I rang the bank and was told that they had not refused any such transaction and that there were sufficient funds in the account to cover payment.

I then initiated a dispute procedure about the transaction which the Commonwealth Bank of Australia is dealing with now.

Claimed loss: I would therefore appreciate Delta's cancellation of the unlawful and unilateral $1210.66 charge to my credit card.

Delta Air Lines eCredits

I was unable to buy my tickets to fly on Jun 18-25 for $388 I had credits for about $199 I want to apply but your system was down and saying there was an error. I kept trying and certain ecredits would register and others would not. Then when they finally did load it said there was an error. I tried to call customer support bu the wait time was 4 hours. I requested they call me back and I have a message from them that they did but no information was given about their techinical error.

I finally had time to call back while being sick and going to the doctors on 1/4 with no follow up from Delta on my issue. I finally got through today only to be told that 1/3 was the last day they were willing to assist with these issues. There was no email/notifications/text/calls given to me or any customer about this issue. So if you were lucky you got to redeem yours if you got through to customer service if not you were out of luck.

They did not accomdidate the amount of customers that would have been performing the same task and bc of their negligence someone who was complient is now being penalized. I did everything possible, attempted all night on my computer, called in and was placed on hold, even tried call back service with no luck. All I want is to be able to book my flight and use the credit that were given to me.

Desired outcome: I want them to honor my ecredits.

Delta Air Lines Flight 2586 and Connecting Flight 1549 to ATL on 12/30/23

On Saturday December 30 I was flying home to Atlanta from Boise, ID. I had a Skymiles ticket for these flights. First of all, I arrived early and inquired about getting on the earlier non-stop flight to ATL. Even though ther were seats available I was not able to make the change nor was I offered the possibility to fly stand by. I was just told that I had to call reservations. I have been a Delta Skymiles member for 30 years. I realize terms have changed but good customer service would have been appreciated. As it turned out, my checked bag went on the earlier flight.

I waited for my scheduled flight which was delayed. Once we departed from Boise, about an hour late, the flight was uneventful. A very helpful transport person helped me identify my connecting gate and then encouraged me to ride to the gate since it was very far away and time was tight. I arrived at my connecting gate to learn that the next flight was also delayed. The delay was pretty close to an hour. Then the plane had to be de-iced, further delaying departure. (I appreciate the safety measure) Finally we departed for ATL. Upon arrival at ATL, now very late (an hour), there were no airline staff there to greet the plane, extend the jetway or open the door. We learned that the closest and only qualified staff was at the F gate, we arrived at A. The maintenance staff was able to extend the jetway, but were not authorized to open the plane door. To add to the frustration, the trains were not working so the one person that could let us out had to walk from F to A, about a 30-40 minute further delay. We sat for another hour waiting for someone to open the door. Very poor planning, horrible customer service. I was so disappointed that this was Delta. Finally deplaned at 2:05am then had a 2 hour drive home. I have always prefered to fly Delya but will now will consider all of my options.

Desired outcome: I don't really expect anything, but I needed to tell my story. Perhaps a review of this situation (root cause analysis) can help prevent things like this from happening in the future.

Delta Air Lines Baggage handling

My cpap was packed in my check bag in its padded case and was broken by Delta. They found a way to blame me for it and won't take responsibility for their poor handling of the bag. Insurance will require a new sleep study and then I can get a new machine which will cost me a lot in addition to the adverse health effects from essentially not having any sleep until I jump through all the hoops. Never trust them with your bags.

Delta Air Lines Flight boarding

I am a Delta recent flyer. when boarding on my out bound flight the gate agent stated all military, active and retired can board the plane. As a disable retired veteran, I appreciated that jester. However, on the return flight the gate agent statement was only active-duty personnel. when I questioned the difference between my departing flight, she became very irate to the point where she stated reads the rules. Other passengers got involved saying that not right. I appreciate the offer for current military members to board the plane first. To the airline I have a question retired and disable vets don't count. (Wow)! I am a retired 30 year of service veteran with disabilities. I think years of service and disabilities deserves something. Vets with over 20 years of service should have a retired ID card from the Department of defense. Disable Vets should have Documation from the Department of Veterans Affairs. It would be seen as deep appreciation for those that have served with honor. Thank you.

Delta Air Lines Delta & los angeles airport terminal distance

11/7/2023 LAX to Orlando, Fl flight DL718 Boarding 3:45 pm (ticket [protected]), My wife had this return flight home upon checking in, the flight was changed to a different terminal. Which was no problem, the issue was change to an international flight departure terminal area. She had no idea of time and distance to get to the correct terminal. I suggest adding time of walking to the destination, my wife walked roughly 4,000 steps which is about 1.9 miles!

Desired outcome: Would like them to consider not only terminal departure, but time it takes to walk to terminal.

Delta Air Lines Delta employees

10/27/2023 I just caught a bit of the Atlanta TV Channel 11 noon news, and there was a "report" about how excited, grateful, or whatever a bunch of Delta employees were because they were on a flight and realized it was the first time the entire crew, pilots and all, had shades of brown skin that they like to call black. These people looked around, judged their coworkers by the color of their skin, decided they were all members of some body or tribe or group that set them apart from "white people," and the entire crew having various shades of non-white skin was some sort of noteworthy happening, so they alerted the TV station. Yep, that's racist. How sad that today in America there are "Americans" who will look around, judge everybody by skin color, and then declare, "We feel so good because nobody in our group is white, and we think this is newsworthy." To say that I am surprised that a bunch of Delta employees would go to such lengths to announce such racist bigotry would be an understatement. So, unless you address this situation, do not dare to try and make an issue of it when an all-white crew realizes they are an all-white crew, and goes on TV news to talk about how wonderful that is. Reaching out to the local news with "This is an auspicious happening because there aren't any white people on this flight's crew" should be a firing offense for overt racism.

Delta Air Lines over billing

Delta overcharged my Citi credit card $2366.06 for a flight route change. I have tried resolving the issue with Delta for over a year, and nobody can explain their mistake. I contacted Citi Bank and disputed the charge but they do nothing. Citi wants to be paid for a charge that I did not authorize and I can't contact anyone at Delta to reverse the charge.

Desired outcome: Have total charges reversed and someone at Delta contact me in regards to the overcharging.

Delta Air Lines customer service

-my flight out of tel aviv was canceled which is understandable and i am not upset about that- i have been unable to reach Delta to manage my booking- get things taken care of. i am very frustrated with your lack of customer setting support- i have been on the "help" chat for over an hour and a half- i had to retell my story 4 times- only to be abandoned again by your agent- the 800 "customer service " number says you are not taking calls- please call me asap- i just needed a small thing now im beyond upset and disappointed - we have to do better. please call me

Delta Air Lines Flight delay and flight cancelation

Due to the flight delay on 6/25/22 in SMF, we missed our connecting flight in LAX to Mexico City. We were stuck at LAX, for 12 hours, with an 8-year-old! It was very inconvenient and tiresome! We arrived in Cancun a day late, so we also lost approximately $1,000. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort. We should NOT be liable to endure that cost due to an error by Delta Airlines. I am asking to be reimbursed for the money we lost. They are stating that it was delayed due to air control traffic beyond their control, but this was NOT the case. The flight was overbooked, and they had to RECOUNT ALL THE PASSENGERS before takeoff. There was an emp on the plane, with his family, flying standby, so they made them get off. This caused a HUGE DELAY in SMF, so that is why we missed our connecting flight in LAX.

Delta also did another error by canceling our return flights from Cancun! I don't understand why that was even done. We spent over 1 hour dealing with this issue in Cancun. Luckily, AeroMexico was able to rebook our same returning flights. My son's luggage was also left in Cancun, by the airline, due to all this rebooking commotion. He was without his retainer for a few days. This was the WORST flight experience ever!

The first level of complaint, via chat line, offered me $250 per person in airline credits. When I declined that offer and the next level of complaints reviewed my case, they declined to give me anything at all! This makes no sense at all!

Desired outcome: I want a refund, of $1000, which is the money I lost out on at this resort in Cancun.

Delta Air Lines Items stolen from my luggage

On yesterday at 12:09 p.m., I boarded a flight in Jackson, Ms. My final destination was D.C. with a layover in Atlanta. I packed two purses in my checked luggage and paid a fee of $130.00 because the luggage was overweight.

This morning when I unpacked my luggage, my two purses were not in the luggage where I packed them. One was a Louis Vuitton cross body purse. The other was a beige St. Laurent handbag.

I'm offended that a Delta employee would rummage through my luggage and take anything out.

Delta Air Lines Claim for cancelled flight

I need help trying to get compensation for a cancelled Delta flight.

I am from England and booked return flights to Nashville via Atlanta from Manchester.

This was all booked through Virgin Atlantic.

We were given Virgin Confirmation and Virgin Ticket numbers.

The flights from Atlanta to Nashville and back were with Delta

The flight back from Nashville to Atlanta was cancelled. This meant we missed our flight from Atlanta to Manchester.

So, we had to get another flight the next day.

Regarding compensation for the cancelled flight

Virgin say it is Delta's responsibility.

The Delta claim form will only accept a 13 digit number starting with 006

Delta Air Lines Canceled flight additional expenses.

On monday, september 11, 2023 flight number dl 2394 was canceled and rescheduled for 09/12/23, with flight number dl 2560. We would like to be reimbursed for 1 night in the hotel $398.95, rental car $100.57, and evening meal for $277.75 for the two of us. We were unable to get reimbursement online from delta so we called delta and were told to use this method.

Delta Air Lines Missing flight reservation/missing money

i need your help. My name is Richard Alme, live in Atlanta, On August 9. approximately at 6:30 AM I checked in for a flight to Belize, leaving at 10:15. I was told at check in I had to have a return ticket, Belize requirement. So, I purchased one paying cash. However, you don't take cash, so I was escorted to a machine that takes cash and gives a debit card. I have the card, and have looked up the Transaction. It shows the transaction, the money I put in then then the transaction. The flight was for 9/23 and I was told I could move the flight anytime. Problem, I can't find a return reservation for the flight, it does not seem to exist. CARD INFO FOLLOWS:

Delta Air Lines Delta Lounges at Atlanta

First of all, its been a while since my last business travel due to covid and business in nature, but what a surprise! Its 29 Aug 2023 and I have completed our business early at New Jersey, so i drove back to Newark Airport and requested a change of flight to earlier time in the day to Atlanta and the agent at the counter was super nice and set me up with an earlier flight to Atlanta, but i had missed the connecting flight to Huntsville, AL. Now i was stuck at Atlanta for several hours and i need to see how i can get on a first flight out and not chance the flight cancellation with last flight out to Huntsville. So, I was reluctant to visit any of Atlanta Airport as they were not so helpful in the past...then there is a pleasant surprise...the Delta Lounge Agent, I cant spell her name without killing it so I will not try, but she was a blessing from God as she worked her magic to get me on the 8PM flight as stand by...what a pure thrill. Then the great surprise of it all...I am working on my business on my laptop and couple of gents with lounge support personnel approaches with a new sample dish of lightly smoked Lachs fused with avocado, salsa, and cilantro accompanied by pinot grigio with large Raspberry to sample...man was it delicious. I had to meet the Chef, Chef Anthony, and shake his and offered to buy him a drink, but to my disappointment, he does not drink...so I am complaining to the world about my extraordinary experience at Atlanta Delta Lounge and the Chef who have brightened up my day with long waits and discontent employees at Airports in many countries and cities i have traveled in the past. This is my complaint to Delta...be the bright light for tired traveler who only want to get to their home to loved ones or business locations to make the earning for their loved ones. Today was one of my best travel days with Delta team, and possibly other airlines as well, domestic and international. Congrats to the Chef Anthony, his team, and Delta! Job Well Done.
