I am writing to report a complaint against De Meridian, a company that has engaged in misinformation and unfair business practices, resulting in financial loss and distress to me and my family.

On November 23rd, 2025, at Afternoon time, I received a call from De Meridian staff, informing me that I had won two free gifts: an adventure in UAE and hotel stays. They invited me to attend a presentation about their services, which I accepted.

During the presentation, the sales manager, Mr. Faizal and his team, presented various tourism packages, including silver, gold, and platinum memberships. When I expressed concern about the prices, he offered a bronze package for AED 6999, with a 24-month interest-free payment option if I had an ADCB or Emirates NBD credit card. He also assured me that I could cancel the service and get a full refund if:
- I am seriously ill
- I lose my job
- I didn't use any service at all, otherwise a 35% cancellation fee if I have used any services.

Based on these representations, I agreed to subscribe to the service and provided my ADCB credit card for payment. However, before providing the contract, the company charged the full amount of AED 6999, then I asked why I have being charged full amount as I was being told it will be 24 months of interest fee payment. Then the sales person mentioned that the bank will call next day. then they provided a booklet to fill our details and they hurried us to sign all. They didn’t allow us to read everything clearly. (Later, we realized that the booklet was the contract.)

The key issues with De Meridian's conduct include:
- Misrepresentation of the payment terms, including the interest-free payment option
- Charging the full amount before providing a contract or not allowing me to read the terms and conditions
- Misinformation about clear refund policy
- Uncooperative and misleading customer service
- Failure to honor their promises and commitments
- Attempting to forcing me to continue with the service despite my requests for a refund ( although we requested for refund within 1 hour of payment over the call)

The sequence of events is as follows:
- November 23rd, 2025: I attended the presentation and agreed to subscribe to the service. After realizing that there is misinformation because they charged my payment in full instead of 24 months of zero percent installment, I requested a refund within 1 hour of the payment, citing misinformation and unfair business practices
- November 24th, 2025: I visited the company's office and met with a customer care representative, Shazia, who asked me to allow 48 hours for an update
- November 25th, 2025: I visited the office again and was told that they were speaking to the concerned team
- November 26th, 2025: I tried to reach over the call but since they were not responding, I visited the office again and contacted a customer care person, she clearly told as per the terms & condition if we are requesting for refund there will be 35% of deduction. But this term is completely contradict from what they told during sales presentation by Mr Faizal. as we didn’t agree to this we escalated this matter to their line manager, they introduced me to Mr. Deep, a line manager, who promised to resolve the issue. He forced us to we avail the services, and in case we are not happy with their service, we have the right to a refund after deducting the cost of services used. Meanwhile, he promised us that the bank will call us for converting my payment into installment. then I requested that they mention these terms in an email, but they sent an email without including these key terms. On the same evening, I got a call from a random mobile number; he said he is from ADCB bank and asked if I want to convert my payment into installment. I asked if my payment is converted into 0% installment, he said there will be an interest amount and it will be paid by DE MERIDIAN. But this is contradictory to what we were initially told.
- November 27th, 2025: Since we didn’t get a clear reply, even we tried to connect them through call they were not responsive. We visited the office again and met Mr Deep. During the meeting Mr Deep again promised us verbally to give 3 solutions.
1. Clear process of Refund: He mentioned that he will speak to his vendors, concerned departments to provide the refund without deduction of amount.
2. He insist us to avail the services and if don’t convert the payment into installment he will try to get a cash back of 1000AED from company.
3. EMI Interest: Regarding the EMI interest, he mentioned that the company will bear the interest, but we need the full amount of interest for the 24 months upfront with the first month's payment. The conditions for this are as follows:
- as per Bank the total interest amount for 6999AED will be 1372AED
- This amount will be paid upfront with the first month's payment
Additionally, he mentioned that if we are not satisfied with the service, we can cancel and claim a refund without any conditions, minus any charges for the services used. The conditions for cancellation and refund are as follows:
- We can cancel the service at any time
- We will be charged only for the services used up to the date of cancellation
Mr Deep Promised us that he will draft an email pointing these all. But till date he didn’t revert back to us.
- November 28th 2025: again due to their failure of confirmation as per Mr Deep’s promises we called him at 12:37 pm about the updates. Mr Deep updated me he will connect Mr Faizal on a conference call at 3:30 pm for further investigation about his sales presentation verbal agreement. Despite being 3:30 pm we never received any call hence we called back. Then the customer care lady mentioned that Mr Deep is busy with another client but they will arrange a callback. At the end we got a callback at 4:07pm but it was between shazia ( customer care) , Faizal ( sales manager) and after so much of discussion he agreed that during sales presentation he provided the information of my payment will be 24 months of interest free. However, now although there will be an interest we can imburse. So he tried to convince both are same. We denied it Becuase interest free payment versus reimbursing the interest are not same. And also we don’t have the trust since there are so many misinterpretation, changes of words , failure of promises what we are facing in such short period of 7 days of time.

I request your assistance in resolving this matter and holding De Meridian accountable for their actions. I would like to request a full refund and cancellation of the service.
